When we got home, we noticed his discomfort and took off his socks that he was wearing, and his feet were swollen and hives. Called spoke to an associate who said a manager would give me a call after waiting in three hours I decided to call back they apologized said they would go through protocol with their associates better but that does not fix the hives issue he has today or may be athletes foot. When going to this gym maybe bring your own disinfecting spray as none was available. Great place just disappointed this happened would we go back, I doubt it due to procedures not being properly followed.

If you're a boulderer, this gym is passable. Rock climbers are dirt bags and they've no need for…read moreluxuries or amenities or cleanliness. The Rock Boxx is a decently large bouldering gym with varying terrain: slab, overhangs, aretes, and a top out boulder. The 2nd floor loft has their hangboards and a functional 2024 moonboard. I've only gone a handful of times, I think they're the only climbing gym in town. The setting was okay. I try not to be "that guy," but the grades were comparatively soft. The inside was super chalky and dusty and 80% of the time, the front desk staff abandoned their station to go climbing. For training, this gym serves its purpose. Nothing more, nothing less. My suggestion, make it more friendly and approachable to new climbers. Front desk is standoffish if not downright absent, interior is like a dusty, smelly dungeon

Speaking strictly of the weightlifting part of Dixon - it's not bad. In short, the equipment is new…read moreand in good shape, but the gym is severely undersized, and lacking a good range of equipment. You'll find yourself pacing around looking for a bench, or a rack. I often end up doing standing exercises, because standing space is all that's left in the dumbbell area. I've seen crowds hover for the chance at getting a power rack, or lines form for several machines, such as the one and only seated cable row, or one of two lat pulldown machines. Personally, no matter how nice the equipment is, if it's too crowded to use any of it, it might as well not be there. Dropping a weight isn't as much of a safety concern as it is getting smacked in the face by the guy standing next to you. However, all that said, it's still not a bad place to lift. They provide lifting and dip belts behind the counter. The plates are round, not hexagonal. The machines might not be lubricated often, but they're in the very least in working order. If you find a bench in the dumbbell area, most of them are adjustable from a decline, to upright. All the plates and DB's are rubber coated, which I usually don't prefer, but in a gym like this, does substantially help keep the noise level tolerable. It's got great hours - especially for the average student, a large locker room that's always got open lockers (as well as rentable ones), classes, personal trainers and nutritionists available. I have little to no input on Dixon's other amenities, other than that they also offer a pool, rock climbing area, several basketball and racquetball courts, a men's and women's sauna, cardio machine rooms, and multiple classes - all of which seem just as popular as weightlifting aforementioned. However, everything said, it could severely use an expansion.

There are easy walking paths and multiple trails going up and down different sides. It was a cloudy day, but pleasant for walking. At the top are different lookout points with benches, picnic tables, etc., perfect for great views as you explore the area. The most fun part was the natural climbing wall on the one side. It has its own dedicated lot as well. Portions are closed, but most have permanent fixture points for climbing rope. Definitely a fun free activity if you're into climbing. This is a great free and active activity on your next trip here.

Locker rooms are gross and lockers are expensive and often broken anyway. Don't bother. Exercise facilities ... ok if you don't need any space to do anything and can rely on machines for your workout, and need no room to really do free weights. Stretching? Hah ... good luck. If there are more than two people trying to do anything you'll have to toss a coin for navigating the space. Also why does everyone think it's ok to stand in the stairwell and have a catch up conversation as loud as outside voices? Or converse on the phone while working out?! Track is nice. Gym space is beautiful but always filled with school groups as the schools don't have enough spaces (yay for the comm center supporting local schools but also why are they not supporting their own activities?) Staff at desk has been consistently rude or at a minimum seem annoyed you're there. I don't go anymore unless the grandkids are visiting and the weather is too sucky for beach time. It's just ... meh.

Holy amazing weekend!! We love love love camping, and finding new places with adventures is kind of…read moreour thing. Camp Dakota did NOT disappoint!! 1. The sites: of you want to be close in to the action, the sites are close together like your typical state park. If you want some privacy, you camp up the hill where the spaces are a little more private. We stayed in a 10 Person yurt with 10 people and had room to spare. The yurt and site were clean and well maintained. Oh, and there's a little shed with wood if you didn't bring your own, so it doesn't have to be carted up the hill, you just pay for what you use. 2. The facilities: I was not looking forward to port-a-potty camping. I was pleasantly surprised to find the facilities in clean condition. Clearly they are cleaned frequently, and always stocked with TP. 3. The Adventures: there's a potential for dropping a lot of money on all the extras. But the activities we were able to do with the $20 wrist bands kept us easily busy all weekend. We went back to the rock wall and archery range several times. We also did a zip line tour (my first. I was terrified), and it was a blast and totally worth the money. And the guides were amazing, which brings me to my last point.... 4. THE PEOPLE!!! In my experience, places like this have people working for them who are obviously sick of all the kids and forcing a smile to keep their jobs. Not at Camp Dakota. From the moment we got there, we were welcomed, joked with, and I felt that the family friendly atmosphere was genuine. They all made an attempt to learn our names and ask if we were having fun. They are also clearly trained in safety for all the adventures they run. They really made this trip for us. Special shout out to Juggernaut, Bumblebee, Tumbleweed, Rerun, Care Bear, and most especially PEACOCK!! Y'all are amaze balls. Oh and ps. You can have pizza delivered to your camp site. If that doesn't sell ya, well we just can't be friends.
