This place has really gone downhill in the last year or so... Due to the sewer smell inside the establishment nearly every time, We always order on the way. Another reason is because the service here is so slow. 35 minutes to get a choose 2 meal seems a bit excessive. Some of their workers are not friendly at all. Wow, this is an epic place for sandwiches! Not as famous as NYC's various delis, but lots of variety here and the menu makes it hard to decide. I guess this is why my coworkers never tire of this place when working in Midland. I got the New Yorker Sandwich - a nice warm sandwich with half inch thick slices of pastrami on top of another half inch thick layer of corned beef. Savory and a hint of spicy and oh so good with their rye bread. My choice of side was a chicken tortilla soup that was pretty good - a bit on the rich side but good. They also sell famous sweet teas (peach, wildberry) here - a single large individual size or you can buy by the gallon(!). In fact, buy five gallons if tea and get the next one free! Their wildberry sweet tea was very good - not overly sweet and it had a complex, smooth fruity taste. Hard to describe. For a fast casual sandwich place, this place is real good. They also have spuds, salads, and desserts all at reasonable prices. They even have a sandwich called The Big Nasty and have Shrimp Po Boys. Wished they had one near where I live! read more

Most of the time I eat at a McAllisters Deli I am pleased with the food. This location in Andrews was very disappointing. I always get the french dip, the sandwich seemed to have about 40% of the meat it should have and the meat was dry like it had been overcooked and the Au Jus was cold and not enough for even half the sandwich. Came to Andrews for a basketball game on Saturday. Pretty disappointed in this McAlister location. We completely realize the Texas snow storm has wreaked havoc on our transit system and supplies are low. Menu options we a bit limited which was fine. The ice machine was out of order and the restaurant was dirty. The tables, floors and restaurants were unclean. This caused some major concern with all we are experiencing with Covid. GREAT GLUTEN FREE BREAD!! mpressed with how well they are keeping up the boom going on locally. Fast and friendly, and pretty good. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch with a side fruit. The chicken needed seasoning but the bread was good. The fruit cup was good considering spring just now started, hard to find really good out of season fruit anywhere. Although though some members of my family aren't fans of Mcallisters, I give it a thumbs up and hope they keep the direction they are heading. Best thing from this visit- I noticed a sign after place my order said GLUTEN FREE BREAD AVAILABLE. I asked for a small taste, and they brought me a toasted slice. I have to say it was the best gluten free slices bread I have tasted!! The tea is always PERFECT!!! And the food is always delicious.... However, after eating here often in the evenings I've noticed no antibacterial hand sanitizer... this is a sandwich shop, and deli... 99.9% of everything on the menu is eaten with your bare hands.... the restrooms have pull doors when exiting the restrooms... it's just NASTY having to pull a dirty handle to exit the restroom to only go to the table to handle your food... thankfully they have paper towels in the restroom to use to open the door handles but not everyone uses that little trick.... there's been a lot of dick on that door handle and some large bottles of public use hand sanitizer would be so much appreciated!!!! read more

Two weeks ago I wrote an honest review on the company's website. Poor service, poor food, poor atmosphere. The manager read that review and called me right away that evening. Seems she had an impromptu meeting with the staff that night and addressed my concerns. She then informed me of her crack down and offered me two free meals, drinks and desserts for my honest review. Just had lunch at the new McAlister's Deli in town. The place was massively busy, but the staff was on top of it. The orders were coming out timely and if there was a hiccup (like with mine) they bent over backwards to make it right. They gave us a free desert of our choice. I just place an order for sandwiches and salads with sides for 12 employees. The total was more than $100.00. The order was picked up and the McAlister employee was asked if they double checked the order. Yes was the answer. However, when the person who picked up the order pulled around and started checking, she found a couple of missing items. So she had to go back through the pickup line. Back at work, the entire order was laid out on the table and it was discovered 2 more items were missing. I called and spoke to the Manager who gave me a couple of excuses as to why the mistakes were made. Of course they don't deliver so another trip had to be made to pick up the missing items. For crying out loud - McAlister, if you want people to continue ordering lunch from you - please make sure you check and double check the order is complete. In my 65 years, this was probably the most disgusting visit to a chain restaurant I've ever had! At least my server told me that they were out of turkey (at 12:07). I ordered something else. Another couple after me also ordered turkey, and they were not told there was no turkey until after they were seated. They got a refund and left. There was nobody busing tables. 1/4 of the tables were occupied by boxes of meals, apparently for to-go orders. Half of the remaining tables were unoccupied, but had dirty dishes on them. I ended up sitting at a table with dirty dishes. Finally, after waiting 35 minutes for my food to arrive, the girl asked me if I wanted her to remove the dirty dishes. REALLY? Was she stupid enough to think I wanted them there?? Of course, she never bothered to wipe off the table, nor did she even offer to. I noticed that the serving window was packed with food waiting to be served. It appeared that the only time anybody bothered to deliver food to customers was when there was no more room left for the cooks to put more food on the counter. It was very apparent that there was no manager on the premises. Clerks kept taking orders, cooks kept cooking, and customers were totally ignored. At least the food tasted pretty good when I finally got it. When I finally finished eating, the to-go boxes were still on the tables, preventing customers from sitting there. I've been disappointed in other McAlister's restaurants, in Midland and San Angelo. It is never my first choice, I only go there when other places are packed or a companion insists on eating there. Numerous times they have left items off of online order. Every time I go to pick up order it is still being made after called in or ordered online. Today I ordered online (10:25am) to be ready at 11:00. I go through drive through wait 8 minutes on car in front of me. Then get to window to wait 8 more minutes. During this time I counted 4 workers standing with drinks in the hand as I watched the window lady go get my soup and broke chips together and bagged. Then when I asked what the purpose was of me ordering online if it wasn't going to be ready her response was we just opened. Then change all the hours of operation to open at 11 and not at 10:30. I worked at a restaurant during for a summer in high school, so I'm all for giving younger folks the opportunity to gain essential work experience. However, if I had ever acted the way these employees did a few weeks ago, I would have been fired immediately. The moment we walked in the door we were both being rushed and being neglected at the same time. It was my first time since before Christmas back in 2014 that my family came to this location, so I had a few questions about the menu and none of them were answered. Blank stares and snappy responses. Sure, you're busy- I get it, but I'm also a customer that deserves at least a little respect. I'm super thankful for the grown adult that took the time to clean our seating area and for apologizing about the mess. They deserves a raise. To the youngins at the counter, I asked for a togo box, not for you to do a backflip. I spent almost 50 bucks on lunch, so I don't think it would have killed you to hand me the box with a smile on your face instead of throwing it at me with your attention directed at your coworker. Customer service basics need to be addressed here before I will ever go back again. We didn't receive one thank you, a smile, or even the slightest bit effort from anyone but the nice employee that cleans tables. read more

This place is pretty new still. Hasn't been here too long. But the you get the welcome of like it's a grand opening. The place is clean. They are always trying to go clean tables. During lunch time this place is packed and during supper time it can get a line out the door. It's a healthy place to eat and the portions are great. I like that they have great service. The manager goes out often and looks around and jumps right in to help out. They have a drive thru but i like sitting down if I can. The drive thru works great when I'm in a hurry. They sell their tea by the gallon. I like getting their half sandwich and salad. I change up the sandwich sometimes and for a dollar more you ca get the seasonal salad special. Half potion but worth it. I know that McAlister's Deli is a chain. But they are very consistent with their products. Food taste great and comes out as fast as they can. It's not fast food. It seems that way. But they actually take their time to make your food right. Great Job definitely a place to go. The New Yorker and A salad is great. But if you are really hungry choose a spud.
