I really didn't have a problem with my food but I will say the salad looks deceiving larger than it is. The plates are pretty flat so it looks like sooo much food until you realize it isn't. Things that seemed strange, there was a sign on the door stating no outside food or beverages and I brought in my own water. The cashier looked at it while I ordered and she kept looking at it..I almost felt like she was debating on whether she should tell me I couldn't bring in my water....ultimately she didn't say anything about it..but it was strange. I had the WORST sandwich of my life tonight. The smoky turkey. It was not bad, but DISGUSTING. I couldn't even eat it.

This past Friday my wife and I went to McAlisters for lunch. Cheap date, I get the pecan salad, My wife gets the kid meal mac n cheese. Because of her battle with colorectal cancer, she is limited on food choices and eats very small portions, so it works out well. Anyway, the meal comes with a small cookie. This time however, the girl didn't give her the cookie. When my wife went up to ask her, the girl with the green hair and neck tattoo, told her management had a meeting last week and decided cookies in the kids meal are only for kids and you are clearly an adult! After stewing over this answer for a bit, my wife went back up there for the refill on the drink and asked the manager about the cookie. The manager said, OMG, no, that's not true, I'm so sorry for that, and handed her two cookies. So now we're ok with staff making up their own rules?!?!! read more

I came into the store for a Door Dash order for the customer. After picking up the order the customer requested a "cup of ice" with their order soo l went back into the store. I asked the Manager on Duty for a cup of water. Because I was wearing a mask, therefore my words were muffled so she came closure to hear my request. I repeated myself and asked may l have a cup of water. She heard me and walked to the kitchen to continue boxing and order and after returning from the kitchen still no water. After observing her blatantly disregard disrespect. I asked the cashier working the counter for item. The manager then decides to approach the counter only to darken and harden their gazing of judgment at me. After l received the cup of iced the manager on duty begins to exchange words with their subordinate to inform them to not provide me with anything outside of the DoorDash order. McAllister's, she is a manager and a representation of your company and business model. And her actions clearly demonstrates the Mission, Vision & Purpose of your company is to be disrespectful, exhibiting condescending behavior, to emboldened their posturing of authority for a cup of ice is beyond my comprehensions. The service is usually pretty good and the food as well. But the last couple times I went and ordered the Ultimate Nachos, ALL the nachos have been busted. This last time I went with my girlfriend I had to eat them with a fork. My. Nachos. With. A. Fork. But, honestly, the toppings on the nachos are my fave. I love them. If only my chips wouldn't be busted. #shrug The last time this happened, I had posted a picture on my IG and McAlisters actually reached out asking of my experience. I was honest and explained all that had happened. They said the local deli would reach out to me. Just picked up my online order... I ordered choose 2 with smokey turkey sandwich and chipotle chicken spud. The turkey taste old and I couldn't finish the sandwich and the baked potato was old/ or over cooked. The inside potato was separating from the burnt inner layer of potato that was separating from the burnet outer layer that was the attached to the skin of the potato. I also got a spicy turkey melt (because I wanted to see what it tastes like). So disappointed because it also had old tasting turkey in it, in addition, it had 4 chunks of avocado the made the texture a mushy, unappetizing mess. I couldn't even finish the 1 bite I took. Old turkey and mushy texture... disgusting, I had to spit it out. I also got cucumber tomato salad with the sandwich, and I ordered an additional order of cumber and tomato salad (my fav salad). It was terrible. The tomato in the salad was chewy, I couldn't finish chewing. It tasted old, I couldn't swallow it because it just wouldn't breakdown. Had to spit it out. I spit out and discarded 99% of my meal. I purchased a side of potato salad, which was decent. I was able to consume it But was left hungry after I spent over $30 for my food. AND the website has thee nerve to request a tip. I always give a tip for my online orders (when the website ask for it) because I assume if they receive a tip, they won't do me dirty. It was my first time here although I have seen them in my travels. Finally, I was able to stop and give it a try! I want to say this is like a manly Panera. And I mean that in a good way! This location is new so it was very clean. The staff is friendly-they check up on you, get refills of beverages, and take your plates. I had the Beef and Cheddar with horseradish. It was meaty (you can get extra for an up charge) and the bread fresh. The sides were different which I liked: potato salad, coleslaw, soup and others. They also have a 2 combo meal like 1/2 sandwich/soup/salad. You can get a Spud - baked potato that has a lot of topping choices which is another reason I like this place. They have sweet tea which they say is famous but I didn't try it. They also have nachos to share which is on my list for next time. It is definitely a place for lunch but could be a casual dinner. I did not notice if they served beer but that would get my husband in the door at night! read more

I really like McAlisters food and tea, but the staff needs training. I walked in and waited while two other customers were waited on. There were two cashiers. The ordering for those two parties took about 4 minutes. When the female cashier completed the order for her party she went into the kitchen and began dancing with the workers in the kitchen. I was still waiting in the normal line area. While I waited one of the other staff came and stood at the counter( when the young man completed the order for his party, he began talking to the other staff member who said he was on break. He then started to take his order!! I said, am I not here? The cashier said oh, I'll take you! By this time, I knew I had come to the wrong place! I told them no need and I left. I'm very glad they have fun at work and appear to get along well, but without the customer there's no need for any of them! Apparently they pick and choose who they wait on. I haven't been to a McAlister's in years (it was one of my colleague staples :)), and my first time back didn't disappoint! The French dip is exactly the way I remember it. My husband got the black angus club, and it was way bigger than I expected. All good quality ingredients. The broccoli cheddar soup could have had more broccoli in it, but overall everything was very tasty. I was worried about the reviews stating they received bad service, but everyone working was friendly, and the food came out quickly. Manager was called over by cashier to help apply a coupon. The manager was having a hard time figuring out how to apply my coupon, and ended up repeatedly entering my order incorrectly. No big deal, but when she'd repeat it back to me and I'd politely correct something, she'd get strangely defensive and lie to her staff, right in front of me, saying things like, "she did not ask for this before, but now she's telling me she wants it". I said nothing the first time she did this, but the second time she tried this, I defended myself and she became argumentative. This was the manager acting like this. It was honestly just unbelievable, it kind of felt like a bad dream. Then they blocked off the section my family was sitting in, WHILE they were sitting there, and HAD BEEN sitting there for quite some time, and acted like we sat down in a closed section. When I said we could just move to the other side of the restaurant, the manager said no, just stay there. Not even a minute later she told me that my kids would need to stay in their chairs because her staff was going to be sweeping and cleaning around us, since the section is closed. I've tried this place 3 times. Dissatisfied to say the least. This time I had a $10 gift card that they said had nothing on it. I checked online with my phone & it said the money was there. The crabby manager said the computer wouldn't register it so I'd have to use it another time & place order online. We only went there because I had the GC. My Caesar salad was swimming in super salty dressing. My cup of veggie soup was mostly broth. My previous visit I ordered the veggie sandwich. It was supposed to have a plethora of veggies, instead, it had an old tomato & a giant cucumber slice. If I'm paying the same as a meat sandwich that's loaded, I expect thinly sliced, with the veggies the menu claims. The other workers were friendly. My husbands sandwich was good. I guess I'll order 1 more time online & hope they fix things. read more

Stopped for lunch today and the store is very clean and inviting. Service is really good, although the person taking our order was painfully new. But everyone needs to start somewhere, so problems will he overlooked. I ordered the tomato bisque soup! I'm a dipper, so love a soup / sandwich combination. The serving was warm and a full cup, but it tasted like tomato sauce out of a jar. Too thick, so not real appealing. I ordered the garden fresh turkey sandwich. It was good, but really small. I'm not a big eater and usually order half sizes. But in this case the whole sandwich was about the size of a half. The avocado was good, it also came with spinach, tomatoes and Havarti cheese. They say it was seasoned with salt & pepper and olive oil vinaigrette...not so sure about that. The 9-Grain bread looked almost like a whole grain pita. It's a great idea, but likely won't last with such tiny portions. It's definitely much better than that awful Vegas Cafe. Maybe the other sandwiches are more substantial. We are eating sandwiches from McAlister's at home tonight -- The New Yorker and the Horseradish Roast Beef and Cheddar. We also have a Parmesan Kale with Turkey Sausage cup of soup. First comment: The New Yorker, $9.99, has 10 ounces of Pastrami and Corned Beef. The Horseradish Roast Beef and Cheddar, $7.99, must have only 3 or 4 ounces of Roast Beef!!! The New Yorker was light on the Swiss cheese and mustard; the Horse Beef Cheddar had an equal mix of cheese, grilled onion and beef with a good amount of Horsey sauce. Both come with a quarter dill pickle slice. The difference in price of the two sandwiches is crazy for the fact that there's 2 and 1/2 to 3 Times as much meat on The New Yorker. Of the 26 different sandwiches on the menu, only three specify the weight of the meat you're getting -- 10 ounces for the NYer, 8 ounces for the Reuben and the Big Nasty. The other 23, mine included, God only knows what the meat portion is. Ask. Second comment: The Parmesan Kale with Turkey Sausage soup, $3.79 for what looks like an 8 ounce cup, has an incredibly good, strong Parmesan flavor. This serving had one good sausage nugget and a few tiny crumbles so it was mostly kale in a creamy Parmesan base, but the flavor makes me want to overlook the lack of turkey sausage. I'm not sure where else you can get this combination -- does Chunky have this flavor combo yet? If not, try this soup. I use this soup philosophy elsewhere. If I can get it in a can, it's usually a better deal than paying the restaurant for a smaller portion, especially on a carry out order. Other flavors at McAlister's like Chicken Tortilla, Chicken and Dumplings, Broccoli Cheddar, I might not bother with. Third comment: Service was still iffy. Order taker did not mention that The New Yorker came with a choice of side (an even better value than the Horse Beef & Cheddar!). Asked for an iced tea lemonade and received an iced tea with four lemon wedges. Order server caught these mistakes and fixed them. Sandwich construction was also iffy with cheese melted out the sides of The New Yorker; the HB&C was sliced lopsidedly and at a 45 degree angle so first bites from the slice were mostly ciabatta bread. Did not try the Spuds, salads, nachos or desserts, so in addition to The New Yorker there's a reason to go back. Tip: You can use backstreets from Woodhollow Drive (stoplight) to make it easier getting in and out of the Indianapolis Boulevard traffic. McAlister's shouldn't really have the Deli title it gifted itself, as it's not a Deli in the true sense of the word. It's yet another sandwich shop with extra options. Still, worth a try, though I'd rather drive out to Sandwich City in Crown Point for a better sandwich. read more

She got a interesting turkey sandwich I tried, not fully my think to have vinaigrette on a sandwich but still had flavor, I will give them that. Myself I had the French Dip beef sandwich, and tried their Ultimate Nachos. Kind of interesting how they put everything on the site with the nachos and you put it on your self, but with others who may love cheese and cheese galore, just the melted cheese I think would have been enough, did not need shredded cheese as well, but just my opinion is all, over all was great. For our sides we both shared the mac & cheese and the potato salad, everything tasted awesome. I will honestly say we will eventually be back to try other menus items they have to offer. read more

The sandwiches are pretty good, but they need to work on the service. If you order to go, please check your order. I went today and ordered a full sandwich and salad. I had a whole conversation with the young man who was the cashier about the Southwest Salad and whether people tend to like it. He said yes and that he also liked it. So, I ordered it. I didn't check my food until I got all the way home. They forgot my chips that come with the sandwich and they gave me the wrong salad. It was a Savannah salad which is full of nuts, blue cheese and cranberries. All the things I hate. I don't have time to go back, but what a waste of money.
