I've been searching for a good butcher in the area, and was happy with the ground beef on my first visit. Was also very pleased with their selection and service. It's unfortunate that I receive the exact opposite on my second visit. I was waiting to be helped and they took two white men, and an elder white lady before me, even though I was acknowledged. I can understand if they're older and they wanna be helpful first, but there is no communication on this.... And then I saw the sign. I should've taken a photo cause it was a little startling, and unfortunate that they expressed so openly their political position and hate for Wokeness. I've heard some stories how they are true MAGA and slightly racist, but you have to experience it for yourself. You have to give a place a chance. And it saddens me the way I was treated on my second time back. Folks everywhere are just so sad and upset these days, every life has been disrupted in someway the last 10 years for multiple reasons. It's stressful out here, but it's also stressful trying to get good quality food with all the regulation changes. I travel out of the country multiple times a year and American food is just the worst. So I'll keep searching for quality in both the product and in the customer service. In some small way, it's good to know a store position because I don't wanna give them my business. It's so weird to fight against progress. And it's even weirder to think Wokeness is a thing. This place was intriguing. I came here on a recommendation. Put the address into my gps and off I went. It was like an old school grocery stop with a deli shop that was busy when I walked in. Had me curious enough to come back and try a lunch sandwich from here. This meat market has the soup bones for my dogs for a decent price also. I never wrote a review with the intent of a follow up review as I have to come back, grab a sandwich and buy some ready made family style dinner trays that looked like it would make my cooking nights way easier! Food is good but from late 2023 till June 2025, the serving sizes of plates have gotten smaller or lighter in weight. The steak sandwich is half the size from 2023. One cashier that is rude/racist? who is not the owner's daughter has changed my mind on pub. I've over heard some disturbing comments from Pub partners on customers. My fiancée's grandparents spent hundreds of dollars on Christmas Eve catering from this restaurant. They had to wait hours after their established pickup time and were cussed out (multiple f-bombs) by an employee claiming that he knew what he was doing because of how long he's been in the meat business. By the time her grandparents got home, they realized the food didn't even have their name on it and it belonged to someone else. Rob's 901 Grill that is attached to Rob's Meat & Deli is not handicapped friendly. Not only do they lack handicapped parking but they also lack handicapped seating. All the tables are high bar tables and their entryway is not handicapped friendly either, no wheelchair or walker would ever fit. Looks like more of a local bar for regulars. Too bad. read more

The atmosphere is nice here with the long aisle of meats as soon as you walk inside. And there is just a fun and new freshness since the chop shop moved locations. Everyone knows Robs Meats in all the towns over the region with a lot of enthusiasm. There isn't any way to word the ambiance here you just have to see and buy for your self while stopping in their pub with a decadent menu full of new dishes each day. The simple tater kegs are my favorite kinda comfort food served here with dipping sauce. Tortilla soup or other Mexican entrees can be a delight from the norm of their delicious sandwiches. Cold wines such as Mondavi or gourmet beers to go with your savory boneless chicken or juicy steak kabobs are here in the coolers or on the shelves next to Bloody Mary mixes across from olive oil or canned greens. Love Rob's, good quality meats and good service! Rob's offers meat packages, which really helps since meat isn't cheap these days. The lunch meat is a little pricey too. Their homemade chicken salad is one of our favorites, as is their roast beef and au jus for beef sandwiches. They even will supply you with all the fixings if you want to try your hand at making your own sausage! Honestly; haven't bought anything here I haven't liked. We came here for shrimp to grill out. The place was packed & I've heard great things. Large selection of different flavors of marinated shrimp. The bag they were sealed in was leaky which I found out after I purchased. Good thing I had a bag in the car to put it in. The odor was intense, my car smelled for days. We thought they were small, barely fit on a skewer. Still worth it as they tasted great. The coleslaw was not very good at all. We also bought frozen potato pierogis. They were freezer burnt. I cooked them for a few minutes & they fell apart. I wanted to brown them in a skillet with butter, but they didn't hold up. read more

I went to Rob's this morning, we always gotten excellent meat. No issues there, but this morning, I went to the deli to grab some Rob's potato salad, which is excellent. No one behind the counter except for one employee, I rang the bell and the employee looked at me and continued to do what she was doing. I rang the bell a second time and was ignored by the employee. The place looks fabulous and lots to select from so I'm gonna give it another try. I stopped there the day before Father's Day and ordered a Tomahawk Prime rib steak for my son and 6 bone in prime ribs for the rest of the family. My son cooked them on the grill. He had a small grease fire so half the steaks were over cooked and the other half were a perfect medium rare. We all like our steaks medium rare. Unfortunately they were not great, not even the medium rates. They all tasted a bit grisly, definitely not what I was expecting from a prime rib cut. I'll be trying it again and hoping for better steaks next time. If they do not deliver then I will not going back. read more

As a big proponent of small business, I go out of my way to shop local even if the quality or price isn't as competitive. We have been patrons of Rob's since moving to NW Indy over seven years ago, but that ended on Mother's Day. I showed up on Mother's Day to pick up steak and other things for one of my mom's favorite dishes. As soon as I got to the door, the owner, Rob, said they were closed. I checked my phone and it was 1:03pm. Apparently, they closed at 1pm because of Mother's Day, which is fine - disappointing, but understandable. I went back to my truck and while sitting there, another patron walks up to the door. I saw that Rob told him they were closed, but after pleading his case, Rob let him shop anyway. What?! You literally told me 10 seconds ago that I couldn't shop because you were closed. I didn't know that I would need to make a case to shop three minutes after your arbitrary closing. What a crock. At least wait until patrons you just denied have left the lot before you start letting people in. But no worries, we will give our business to Jewel, Strack, or Welch's from now on. Holy Cow! (Get it?) Rob's is legit. I was in the Region and having lunch with my sister. She lives by Rob's so I suggested we go pick up sandwiches since the Yelp reviews were so good. Wow! When I walked in I was impressed by the variety and the quality of the meats, both in the butcher shop and the deli. Plus they have everything you can think of to make your meal complete. We ordered sandwiches to go, the counter folks do a great job keeping the crowd moving. Service was friendly and efficient. Got back to my sister's house and couldn't believe how huge the sandwiches were. Packed full of meat and the condiments we requested. (you can also get your condiments on the side so your sandwich won't get soggy) The price is out of this world affordable too. I think they were 2.99 each. It blew my mind. Putting Rob's on my go-to list for when I am up in NW Indiana. Great place. read more

Although past experiences have been positive, I don't know what happened to Rob's customer service. People behind the counter are quick to offer help and they are pretty good. Today, I was in there and I was at the counter ready to pay. Waited in line forever for a cashier to have friendly chats with people in front of me. In comes another person who rushed me through the check out process and when I asked where I should place my empty basket, she told me all the way in front of the meat counter. I asked if she wanted me to walk that way while I paid. She snottily said, "Yes, even you can put it back there. Meanwhile, the customer behind me jumps on the counter and she starts ringing him up too. Now, I have to wait for my credit card to be processed. Nice customer service. She was rude and sloppy. My advice....take care of your customers in a friendly manner. Learn better customer service. read more

I just left out of Rob's completely disappointed. I stood at the meat counter for exactly 4 minutes with no other customers in the store. There were at least 8 people standing behind the counter. NO ONE said give us a minute or we will be right with you NOTHING. the big guy with beard carrying a black phone in his hand turned looked at me and said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, turned around and proceeded to finish a conversation that he was having with another employee. I stopped in here on a whim while in town to pick up some Ribeyes to grill over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised. The selection is endless, basically every cut of meat you can possibly think of and then some. Steaks, roasts, chicken, all sorts of pork cuts, prepared/marinated kebobs, stuffed chops and more. They also have a huge section of cheeses, breads, deli meats, frozen foods, desserts, ice creams. There were tons of employees as well, so the wait was almost non existent despite it being busy. The prices are also very reasonable, this has to be one of the best butcher shops I've ever been to and that says alot. read more

We shop at Robs pretty much every week About 2 weeks ago while shopping there was a flyer showing various meat packages there was one for$135 looked like a good xmas gift for 4 of our kids Sunday of this week we went back to purchase for our kids and the price jumped to $175 wow We asked to talk to the manage who happen to be the owner we explained what happen he told is that the price wasn't $135 for 10 years???? He was very rude and had a smurk on his face as if we were lying i was taken back and left the store i can understand that he may raise his prices for xmas but to treat customers rudely is not wise We will probably not go there again Be careful ! read more

WOW! First off thank you Dyer Bank for recommending Rob's Meat Chop and Deli! So, we just moved into the area from another state West of here. They do have some very nice butcher shops. However; Rob's blows all them away. It is in a way reminds me of when I was WAYYY young, and going to a butcher shop. Every item here ,meat, salads, chicken and deli is FRESH. They cut portions to the size you want. The staff, truly personable and extremely friendly. They answer questions and make you feel like you have known them, like...forever! We have gone here twice now in the last month. We will never buy meat from anywhere else. Rob's you might say, if you are a naysayer, a bit expensive. Would totally disagree with you. The portions are huge, the quality of the meat and chicken is superb. Yep, you can go to a grocery store, pay cheaper prices, but do you like paying for more fillers than the product you want? Here you get, like I said, superior products at a comparably less expensive price. In addition, Rob makes his OWN potato salad. The young man behind the counter stated that the salad is the best around. I figured, that was nice to say, plus you are selling the salad. Guess what, NEVER had potato salad is awesome as Rob makes it. Sorry, Grandma, Rob has a better tasting salad. He also has his own line of baby back ribs and other products that I can not wait to try. Guess what else, they have four soups fresh each day that are made constantly. Fresh. The smell of homemade soup as you walk in, even during the summer months, takes your breath away. One soup the very nice lady cashier told us, the Chili soup, they have every day. O.K., now I haven't had chili soup in the summer. So, I bought a small bowl on a hot summer day. Oh my, watch out Firefighter friends, I always had excellent chili when visiting the firehouse, but again, Rob's blows even firefighter chili away! So highly recommend Rob's Meat Chop and Deli. If you are a resident of the Dyer area or surrounding towns, I wouldn't waste my money going to a grocery store for meats and deli. If you are visitor and looking to check out the area, you need to stop here. Try it, you will love it. Oh one more item of interest, they have a superb pub that is for 21 and over. They serve Rob's meats and they are cooked to your satisfaction. We had the steak sandwich. Oh, soo good. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The bartender/waitress in the pub is just as nice and friendly as inside the store. Rob, keep up this great establishment. If I could give you 10 stars I would. We were fascinated by their steaks. This place is huge! Their cuts of meat are beautiful. The service is friendly and they are patient and helpful to first time customers. Now you better have some deep pockets because like their sign says: "good meat ain't cheap...and cheap meat ain't good". But it's worth the price.
