Pepinos originally from Calumet City was very well known for it's Italian beefs. This was not the case at the new location in Indiana. If you're looking for what that once was in Calumet City go to Portillo's. The fries are amazing! The lasagna sauce was good yet it could have used more meat. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and it was a very clean location. Overall, I give this place 2.5 stars out of 5. It's not the worst place to get this kind of food but again...there's a Portillo's right down the street. I'm just going there from now on. read more

There's some decent food here. I like some stuff a lot like the pasta salads and the pizza is underrated. I don't care for a lot of the menu, but I think that's a personal preference thing, I think most people would like it more than I do. I do like the mostaciolli, though. Prices are okay. I don't think people get it until they've tried one from northwest Indiana and Pepinos does it well! You can choose from Italian beef, Italian sausage or both. Your choice of cheese, mozzarella is standard. And then your choice of topping. I do giardiniera. Next time I might also try a side of red sauce. April 2021 - I found this place based on its Yelp reviews. We had a medium pepperoni pizza on a thin crust. The crust was hard enough to use a knife and fork. The cheap quality knife was worthless and painful to use. The sauce and pepperoni and cheese was excellent! This did not appear to be a hand tossed dough. There was no raised edge on the pizza. I had a side salad with ranch dressing and the salad was small but good. The drinks were self service and Coke products. The deli type service was also very good. Ever since there has been new ownership, this place has gone downhill. I think the place is run by a bunch of young kids who don't know anything about business. It is amateur hour at this place. Walked in on a Sunday night at 7:25 and found out that they were out of basic food items, so we had to order differently. I got a Turkey sub sandwich that was soggy with tons of mayo and mustard and tasted bad. My friend came in just as I was finishing ordering at 7:28 pm and they told hime they were closing and he was the last order. It says clearly right on the door that they close at 8 pm, but to the kids who don't want to work and want to get out of there, they take that to mean that they will actually stop serving people at 7:30pm so they can clean up and get out of there. People were coming in after us and were told that they were closed and they left. If you advertise that you close at 8 pm, it means you take orders up to 8 pm!. Very uncomfortable sitting there with the employees running around and stacking chairs and sweeping around our feet just because they don't want to work. I am going to figure out who actually owns the place and talk to them. If this nonsense of running out of food and closing early isn't remedied, we will not be back. read more

Went here for the first time, it was so good! My friend had the ready to eat pizza slices and they were delicious. I had the meatball sandwich with sweet peppers. You can tell that everything was homemade, except for the bread, which was amazing. There was so much food in our portions that I could only eat half of my sandwich. I also had the garlic cheese curds and omg, they were so fresh and melt in your mouth good. These were also hand dipped with a breading that was a proven recipe from years gone by. The place was busy, the helpers were very good at their jobs and the prices were crazy low, we got all that I mentioned and two fountain drinks for $22. Fair at best is the best phrase I can say about this food. I called in a order and the staff was polite on the phone and in person. We ordered an Italian beef, sausage and peppers and the Italian sub. I don't expect this food to be healthy but the amount of grease and salt was off the charts. The grease ate through the bag causing a hole in the paper bag. The portions are HUGE. A sandwich can easily be shared. Maybe I'll give it another try but not anytime soon read more
