A month after requesting my records I was finally able to be seen by a different provider and an understanding surgeon and nurse who simply asked:"Was she just wanting you to bleed out?" My only response was... I guess so. Thank God I switched health care providers. I would not recommend this or any UF health Womens center employee or provider. They could care less if you live or die.

I wanted to do an MRI just to make sure something wasn't wrong but she told me it wasn't necessary. Told me to put ice and heat on it and rest. So I did that for awhile but not good results came from it. Went to another doctor and he told me it was a chronic ACL tear and I needed surgery. I'm also confused as to why the bill is from "warren urgent care walk-in clinic" but the business is "Doctors Urgent Care". Also, on the website where you pay, it doesn't show the balance due. Outstanding care: Seen as a person first, not a diagnosis…read more I am the care manager for a 92-year-old woman with advanced Alzheimer's and dementia, and today we had an appointment with Dr. Christine at Avalon Primary Caree that went far beyond anything we expected. Healthcare settings can be overwhelming for patients in her condition, but this visit felt calm, respectful, and truly productive. In just one appointment, we achieved more than we have in multiple visits over the last four years with previous primary care, cardiology, and neurology providers. Dr. Shina addressed every concern, including things we did not even know to ask about, and introduced us to services and resources that will immediately improve her quality of life. I arrived with a long list of questions, and every single one was answered thoughtfully. Many doctors become dismissive if you do not use the right medical terms, but that never happened here. Dr. Shina encouraged questions and made sure nothing was left unclear. We left feeling fully informed and supported. What stood out most was her bedside manner. She spoke directly to the patient, looked her in the eyes, asked how she was feeling, and treated her with dignity and compassion. That combination of knowledge, patience, empathy, and genuine concern is rare and it made all the difference. The office was easy to find, clean and spacious. The staff was helpful and efficient. I see NP Bre'Ana Strong, and she has been nothing but caring, kind, understanding, and patient with me (qualities that I think can be incredibly rare/uncommon in the medical field, especially when it comes to primary care.) She went above and beyond at my last visit to make sure both a physical and mental health care need were taken care of - and she didn't rush me or make me feel like a burden. I couldn't believe this office only had a one star rating on yelp, I had to come here to fix it. The nurses here are also super friendly and welcoming (very important when you're dealing with health stuff, IMO!) and the receptionists were kind and welcoming too. My knee was often swelling and locking. The doctor did an outpatient surgery to clean things up and found broken off piece of cartilage which caused the locking. After the surgery, it healed well and I will unconditionally recommend this doctor based on my experience. My physical therapist initially recommended this group of doctors and I am very happy with the outcome. I cannot wait to get strong again and be more mobile and live a better life. (Phys therapist was Omnikinetics in Birmingham.) I feel fortunate to have great doctors and therapists on this journey to getting back active.
