They are willing to help people find books they are looking for. On occasion, a staff member has called me a year after I have made an inquiry about a book, to notify me that the store was finally in possession of the title. This shop also has a nice selection of unusual jewelry, T-shirts, and other gift wear.

The store, although packed with delights, was so well and simply organized that it was not overwhelming and easy to peruse through. A cute nook at the front for children's books and toys that felt like it's own little room. Rows of books organized in all types of sections including one with Totoro/Miyazaki books ( a favorite of my niece's). A selection of records and inexpensive paperbacks towards the back. A small glass display shelf with gifts including some gorgeous crystal crowns. I especially liked the little extras I had noticed. I had come to see the murals in town which had a chance too see a few behind the shop where I also saw their cute, little free library. The staff although busy, made sure to greet and assist quickly with any questions. When I have more time next time I'm in the area, I will make sure to visit again, meet their store cat, drop of some books from my collection and purchase some treats to either add back to mine or gift out.

I was shopping at the store in Chilliwack, British Columbia on July 2, 2024. This incident occurred…read moreat approximately 1830. When going through the self checkout, my husband and I were scanning our groceries with the hand scanner. An associate locked us out of the scanner but claimed it was "needing to be reset". We then moved to another, to restart the transaction. A woman, claiming to be the "head of security", approached us and told us we needed to unload our groceries onto the table. As we didn't have much, and were not bagging our groceries, we didn't see a reason to do this. We're honest shoppers. We scanned every individual item. I explained to her that there would be no purpose to this as we'd just need to put everything back in the cart to bring it to our car as our reusable shopping bags are in the trunk of our car. She then steps in my face, trying to intimidate me, and repeats that she's the "head of security" and it's "Walmart policy". Nowhere in the store is it stated that groceries must be unloaded onto the table next to the scanners. After we scanned all of our groceries, she said nothing, walked away, and locked our kiosk once again. We stood there and were unable to pay for our groceries and were accused of theft. This is completely unacceptable, insulting, and degrading. We have been shopping at Walmart for years. We have never stolen a thing, and never would. We were openly picking up and scanning every item, there was no secrecy or "shadiness" happening when trying to check out. We just wanted to get our groceries and go. We were then forced to walk backwards through the self checkout line up, and wait in line once again for a person to check us out. There were only two open, and the lines were long. We did so without issue, and paid for our $160.00 grocery bill. This interaction left us feeling violated, disgusted, uncomfortable, and angry. How dare we be accused of something like this, with absolutely no cause for concern? I wonder what the reason we were targeted was? I'd be curious to know what about our profiles set off false alarm bells. This needs to be responded to, and rectified. I'm no longer comfortable even entering the store. It's a shame, as it's close to my house and the closest one is now 20 minutes away in Abbotsford.

I was a little hesitant…read moreto purchase a used wedding dress but I am glad I came here instead of looking at individual dresses on Craigslist or paying full price at a bridal store. I was able to look online at all the selections so I had an idea of dresses and price ahead of time (something which you can't get a traditional bridal stores) and they had all the dresses picked for me before I arrived. They were very accommodating even after I was 45 minutes late for my appointment due to traffic. The girls were super helpful and were patient while I tested out the dresses from every angle and even tried a couple on again (making her lace up the back for a second time- sorry!). Prices were very reasonable and they even had some new dresses to choose from. I was excited with my choice which had a bustle already included (something I would have had to pay more money for elsewhere) and they even cleaned it for me for free. I am thrilled to have found a dress $1000-1500 cheaper than I would have had to pay elsewhere. They even offered to accept the dress back on consignment after my wedding. I would recommend The Dressy Attic to anyone looking to save money for their wedding (and they also sell prom dresses!).
