    Fish Fry
    Laura S.

We've been wanting to get to McCormick's since they opened the spring, and after a co-worker raved about them recently we knew we had to make it happen. The entire experience did not disappoint. We were awkwardly there much later than lunch and much earlier than dinner, so we practically had the place to ourselves. They had some good beer choices on tap. We skipped over having any appetizers. I ordered a fish fry and my fiance ordered a single order of hot wings. The wings were burning in temperature. And they had good spice. Andy loves some good hot wings but even admitted his lips were on fire. But they weren't too hot. He said he'd order them again. They were served with celery and carrots and homemade blue cheese. Now for the fish fry... the BEST I have had in a very long time. And in Western New York, that's a very strong statement. The fish seemed so fresh. Great batter, and it was cooked perfectly. The tartar sauce was delish. It was served with rye bread, fresh cute fries, coleslaw, potato salad and tuna mac salad. All of the sides were great, and for me that's the true test of a great fish fry. I want all of the salads, and I want to love them all. We will definitely be back!!

McCormick's is having their grand opening May 3, I heard, but they have been open for the past month ish it looks like. They are on facebook and Instagram. An article came out from the Buffalo News that, I believe, one of the old staff from Swannie House opened this pub. She also employs other people that were a part of Swannie House. When we walked in at 630 ish on a Sunday, there was a musician singing hits. It was a great vibe. We were immediately greeted and the server /bartender was friendly and welcoming. Wings are 50 cents on Sundays at the moment. And we ordered 10 murphy , 10 hot, 2 blue cheese, an order of fries, a coke and a labatt and the bill came to $23. A bill for 2 people has never been that low before. The fries were fresh cut, my favorite. They weren't soggy at all. Super crispy and delicious. The wings were great. We had a great experience and will be back. There is street parking. Cash only, but they have an atm

    Excellent fries!

Wings were cooked perfectly, and the house made blue cheese was amazing. Best around WNY.

I've been on somewhat of my own personal wing tour lately and I'm glad we tried Adolf's. We came on a Monday, which is their wing special night, 75 cent wings. We arrived a little before the 5:00 PM rush so we sat right at the bar, ordered and behold, the wings were in front of us in about 5 minutes! Service was very fast and friendly. We ordered hot, and the level of heat was exactly what hot is supposed to be. Saucy, but not swimming in excessive sauce. The wings were crispy outside and juicy inside, that elusive perfectly fried wing. We opted for the homemade blue cheese, and while I liked it, I found it didn't have a strong blue cheese flavor. But they do have two choices of blue cheese type. Carrots and celery were included, not always the case with wing night specials. I would call these elite level, top 10 in Buffalo wings, maybe even top 5. The only reason that I did not score 5 stars was that there we 7 drums and 3 flats - and I am a flat guy. This usually works out well because my wife likes the drums, but this time they definitely skewed in my wife's favor. If it were not the wing special night, I might have said something, but the wings were so good I did not want to register a complaint about the lack of flats. We also ordered the hand cut fries which were hot and excellent. We definitely plan to return.

Totally average fish fry with interestingly seasoned coleslaw, Mac salad and potato salad…read more Breading was crispy but dark and almost burned, leaving the fish flavorless. My suggestion is to call ahead for pick up as seating is as claustrophobic as the parking lot. It took me almost an hour from seating and beverages to having food in front of me. Also, set up a group text with your party as it's too loud to hear a person next to you talk. TLDR food was passable ambiance is what you'd expect from a neighborhood bar with a small kitchen. Takeout is a must with this place. Note, the steak I smelled cooking smelled divine. I should have ordered that.

He made the day! It's a tavern. Youre getting paper towels as napkins and tight seating. And you'll love it. We split the french onion and the fish fry. Im not usually one for fish fry sides. But damn--they were good. Both the Mac salad and the potatoes were excellent (and I dont love mayo) and very dill forward. Fish fry. Our new favorite. Maybe favorite stateside, not just wny. But definitely favorite in WNY. Crispy. Perfectly cooked fish. Not fishy. Huge. We split it. French onion: so much cheese! I ain't complaining. Good broth. Melting onions. Croutons that are not totally mush. Would do over, over and over
