It's pretty relaxing with fewer people. Bring your flip flops to avoid hurting your feet. Other than that, you are good to go here. I had a great time last summer and am definitely looking forward to visiting again. We made it down just to smell the ocean last weekend and it was a gorgeous day. You just can't beat it. Bring a little bucket if you collect shells, you'll find some nice ones here.

Parking is not cheap, but it was worth every penny. The beach was not full, I found a place away from the groups and unpacked my sandwich. I was bringing my lunch up to my mouth and suddenly I had half a sandwich in my hand and the other half was already in the gullet of a sea gull! I am Savvy, I am aware of gull habits, but this one set a new high bar. I had to laugh, the gull was surprised to find itself with a beak full of veggies. Needless to say said gull stood staring at me while I finished what remnants it left me.

Be careful with smaller dogs as there are coyotes in the tall grass across from the beach. Beautiful and picturesque location. You can drive up further to the Sachuest Point National Wildlofe Refuge (dogs not allowed) which has beautiful views. Such a beautiful scenic drive or enjoying the beautiful sunrise.

Easy access to/from Boston, I've never run into bad traffic the way the Cape is perpetually backlogged. Also a convenient location where, if you're coming from the north, you drive through the cute downtown stretch of Bristol by the water filled with cafes and shops. 2. Free entry and parking. I love the state parks in Massachusetts but I don't love the ever-increasing cost of accessing a green space, especially if you're coming from out-of-state. 3. There's so much to do - walk the paved path along the water, bike, check out the small beach, picnic, etc. My favorite spot to park is by the playground/skateboard area and then do a loop around. There's also a forested hiking trail if you want to wander around a forest without any serious elevation gain. 4. The whole place is spotless and lovingly maintained. If you're swinging through Providence and want your fill of nature, definitely recommend this park.

The water is New England rocky and murky but also very calm. Rocky beaches are meh but kids had fun. There's also a nice snack shop that has ice cream and sandwiches. The issue: it's a $30 dollar per car charge. I'm not against paying for access but the facilities are public so it's strange they'd charge that amount. Residents pay a lot less - like 10. That said there is a life guard , the beach was clean and there is staff to pay.
