Easy access to/from Boston, I've never run into bad traffic the way the Cape is perpetually backlogged. Also a convenient location where, if you're coming from the north, you drive through the cute downtown stretch of Bristol by the water filled with cafes and shops. 2. Free entry and parking. I love the state parks in Massachusetts but I don't love the ever-increasing cost of accessing a green space, especially if you're coming from out-of-state. 3. There's so much to do - walk the paved path along the water, bike, check out the small beach, picnic, etc. My favorite spot to park is by the playground/skateboard area and then do a loop around. There's also a forested hiking trail if you want to wander around a forest without any serious elevation gain. 4. The whole place is spotless and lovingly maintained. If you're swinging through Providence and want your fill of nature, definitely recommend this park.

Several years ago, this beautiful waterfront property was an amusement park. After the amusement…read morepark closed, Rocky Point was abandoned for several years until the state of RI purchased it and reopened the property as a state park. You can still see the remnants of some of the rides, and there are informative signs throughout displaying the history of the property. I love the walking paths here, and I especially love poking around the shoreline at all of the little beach areas (some which are only accessible at low tide) and looking for shells and seaglass. Several of the walking paths are paved and are wheel chair accessible, and others a just a little more rugged with some climbing over rocks to get down to the shoreline. I also love the large fishing pier and this weekend my daughter and I relaxed on one of the benches out at the end of the pier and just enjoyed the sunshine. Rocky Point is an awesome place to spend time outdoors.

Definitely use caution when the tide is coming in however, as the currents here are extremely strong and tragedies have occurred. There are also benches overlooking the water, picnic tables, a playground and bathrooms. Nice place to walk, enjoy a picnic, or just relax by the water.

This park has made major improvements over the last few years to help keep it clean and safe. The sandbar tends to get dangerous when tides are high, so they added signage for people to be more aware of the dangers of walking out to the tip. 10/10 would recommend for picnics and gathering sea glass!

On season, especially during the day, it's hard to visit because the parking lot is so small and all of the surrounding streets have no parking signs up. So you do run the risk of driving there and not getting a spot in their tiny lot.

There are benches along the way to rest at. I really enjoyed the beautiful views of the Narragansett Bay. There are some educational signs along the way, remnants of the old amusement park, and a fishing pier. There was ample parking when we went. There are paths to the water; I like the cute little hidden beach off the path. Overall, a great spot to take a walk and get some steps in!

The water was very calm and I really enjoyed walking along the shoreline to find little pieces of sea glass. I did notice that there was many little tiny bugs that bite hard when you stand still. Not a pleasant feeling but their bite left no marks and went away quickly. I saw people throwing a ball into the water for their dogs to run in and retrieve. There were also a few guys who were fishing from the rocks. Looks like a fun place to spend the day with family and friends. The parking area was plentiful and also handicapped accessible. I am glad I found this little treasure as a tourist.

This is our town beach located in beautiful Tiverton, RI…read more It's currently temporarily closed while they redesign the beach and park area. They have extended the beach line and added a bunch of sand. In doing this, the parking lot has been close to cut in half. Very eager to see the completed project.
