After traveling for a couple weeks, all I wanted was a good burger which can be tough to find outside of the USA. So happy that we found Porta35. Like a lot of food in Portugal it's a bit low on flavor (to think all those Portuguese sailors traveled the world looking for spices...). I got the "spicy" 666 burger, but most bites weren't noticeably spicy in either sense (heat or flavor), though it did have more flavor than lots of other veg food in Porto. The record store is pretty small and the restaurant is a pretty large part of the space -- though they do seem serious about the vinyl. To eat here you'll have to be okay with persistent punk/rock, though it's not loud (either that, or I'm deafer than I thought).

We saw the two waiters come to the street and picked up a few bags of rolls that was delivered and likely for their sandwiches they planned on serving for the day. Word about this must be going around since besides me and my wife, there were 2 other group of people waiting for them to open. Pregar is definitely a small restaurant with only 8 tables inside and 4 tables outside. Their menu was separated by language and our waitress opened it on the English menu. My wife just had soup and I ordered the Serra (Portuguese steak with cheese) on a roll. The price was just for the burger and so I added the fries which came on a dipping side (they had sweet chili, horse radish mayo, ketchup) just to name a few. We actually had the sweet chili and later the horse radish mayo to try. So the steak sandwich I had was Medium (they ask how you want it cooked and went with how the Portuguese like their steaks.) It was a simple no frills sandwich. Just steak. Melted cheese on a roll. The bread was soft and complimented the meat in a 1-1 ratio which I like. Sometimes with a burger, you have more bread with a small burger in the middle. The Serra was 12 euro and thought that was a fair price for a steak sandwich. Overall, I'd give the Serra 4 stars. Service was wonderful and our waitress was attentive and helpful with her suggestions on the steak sandwich to go with. 5 stars. Overall, it was a great lunch and we enjoyed being one of the first ones to dine that day. By the time we were about to finish, more patrons were coming in to eat. Definitely a place If you happen to be near Pregar, I would recommend to try.

They are known for their piri piri chicken. The chicken is nice, it's a small breed, the size of a cornish hen or pigeon, and perfectly grilled with crispy skin and moist meat. I am used to restaurants bringing olive, bread and other appetizers to the table, which they charge if you touch them. I'm fine with that once I know the rules, and know to send back what I don't want, but bringing un-ordered side dishes and charging for them is a first for me.
