I come here every so often because the one closer to us sometimes only lets you buy food through the App, and I don't feel like going through that process just to go there once a month... The last time that we came here, I will say that the service was a tad slower than what we are used to, but all our food was there. Yeah the fries weren't piping hot, but are they ever? HAHAHA! Staff is friendly enough. Parking lot is huge, and clean. It doesn't fit into the aesthetic of the block at all! Semi conjoined brick buildings, McD, more brick buildings... You have to give credit where credit is due. I have been complaining about this McDonald's location for at least a decade because they had a dubious habit of messing up at least 75% of my orders in a month. And I don't mean not including ketchup, etc. I would order a Big Mac and get a Quarter Pounder or worse Chicken Tenders instead and they would not include hot sauce with the burritos or syrup with the hotcakes. That's what they were up to. These days, the people they hired are more friendly and appear to be more competent. The errors have all but ceased and that just makes the customer happy. This is BY FAR the worst AMC Donald's in the Essex county area. Not because of food quality or cleanliness, but because of service. They are so focused on their drive thru speed that they constantly park a bunch of cars and then take an unreasonable amount of time to bring you your order. My order is constantly wrong because the runner bring the wrong order. Management is never willing to admit the concern and make it right. Today, I was parked for 15mins and when I finally go inside to inquire, the manager (I believe his name was Dennis) admits that they forgot about me. This place is the absolute worst! Just left the drivethru where an item is specifically listed at $3.49, but as an educated consumer I noticed the screen said $4.00. When I pull up to the window and ask why, the woman checks and agrees that I'm right. Then she says, IDK, no one has ever questioned it. She goes and speaks to the mgr who never comes to the window, but sends her back to say that's the price when purchased in the meal. Ummm, no, that's the single item price that's listed above the meal price. Not wanting to freeze and knowing the mgr was going to give me a hard time over $.51 she took a dollar off the total. This isn't the first time they have tried to get away with that. So keep your eyes out for what the menu board says and what they are actually charging you. Also, sip your soda before you leave. A few months back there was no syrup in the soda lines and I'm sure many people arrived to work or home with carbonated nonsense and not the soda they desired. I went in and the guy told me to serve myself at the main fountain. That too was seltzer instead of Sprite and even the colas were out. They never want to fix the issue, just give you a workaround. This is by far the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. They literally (not figuratively) always mess up my order. Today I ordered a big Mac with no cheese, and medium fries. And yet they managed to somehow mess up that simple order by putting cheese on my big mac. When I was there a couple weeks ago I ordered pancakes and a children's toy for my 5 year old. It wasn't until I got home that I realized they didn't put the toy in. And I know I paid for it because it showed up on the screen at the drive through. Needless to say, my kid was disappointed. I went back the next day to get his toy that they forgot to put in the bag, and they wouldn't give it to me because I didn't have a reciept. Well, I didn't have a receipt because THEY forgot to put that in the bag as well. An e-mail to their general manager yielded no results. In addition to their atrocious customer service, the employees can be so rude when you ask them to fix your order that they messed up to begin with. I work in Bloomfield, and go to McDonald's on Broad St. every day, sometimes several times a day. As of (10/21/19) this week I am being told I can only place an order through either Drive up, or Touch screen " Managers Orders" When asked who or where the manager was I received no response.
