12/21/24 Afternoon Visit: A young woman behind the counter cheerfully welcomed us to Jersey Mike's. She explained to us the different sandwiches. This young woman had a personality that totally lit up a room. (Sorry, I didn't catch her name). She chatted with us as she prepared our two roast beef and provolone subs to go. This young woman worked quickly preparing the sandwiches. Anyway, we brought the subs home. They were absolutely delicious. Exactly how we requested they be prepared. We stopped in to grab two sandwiches to go. Unfortunately, there were too many issues for me to return. First and foremost my sandwich was made incorrectly and I don't believe it was on accident. I asked for a #16 which is a Mike's Chicken Philly sans the grilled peppers. Much to my surprise when we got home there were too many peppers to count. I was annoyed to say the least. What I don't understand about policies especially when dealing with the public is the lack knowledge about the policy. Also not alerting patrons of said policy or where to find it. The policy seemed conveniently mentioned when it came time to pay. The cashier spoke to her manager who then walked over with the nastiest attitude. Jersey Mikes makes a good sandwich. This was my first visit to this location and the experience was a good one. It's clean and the service was quick and polite. We ordered a giant stickball specIal and a regular turkey and provolone and the sandwiches were good as usual. One thing you don't have to worry about is a dry sandwich and this location was no different. My daughter is allergic to gluten so we got the turkey/ provolone with gluten free bread. She likes it and there were no complaints. This location is behind the main strip mall next to LA Fitness on rt. 3. Sort of tucked away and hard to find. Not gonna lie, I'm a sucker for a good Jersey Mike's sandwich. Finally gave the Clifton location a try and as always, I was very satisfied. The employees are hustlers at this location. Between the mountain of online orders coming through and line in the store, they didn't skip a beat - the wait time was minimal and I didn't feel rushed ordering in store. This place is amazing. The sandwiches are always fresh and far superior to any other sandwich chain I've tried. Everything is super fresh and made to order. The service is impeccable, I've never had an employee here that wasn't extremely friendly and helpful. Today, after they mistakenly put oil and vinegar on my sub, they immediately told me so and even offered me the sub for free! This is a very understandable mistake to make since it is the standard way to make a sandwich at Mikes. I would've happily eaten and payed for the sub with oil and vinegar, but they insisted I take it for free. You're a little bit better than Subway, but not better enough to get crazy with your customer service. Either get your sandwiches buttoned up, or get your customer service buttoned up. Worst experience I've ever had at a Jersey Mike's. I've been to this location numerous times and have always experienced good service but last night was ridiculous. We walked in at 8pm, this location closes at 9pm, and both employees were sweeping, one by the door and one behind the counter. There was another customer waiting to order while the employee behind the counter studiously ignored all of us with a look of annoyance on her face. We waited for several minutes to order or at least be acknowledged and eventually left in frustration. The utter lack of hospitality, service, or even acknowledgment won't have us returning any time soon. On a positive note, thanks to not getting our sandwich fix last night, we discovered Belgiovines today. Amazing sandwiches, fresh cooked specialty food, good prices, and incredible customer service. This is the third time that I have been to this location and each time I think I'm gonna give it a chance they always prove to be horrible. The best part is that it's normally the manager of the store that's the worst employee back there. No wonder why every time I come here it's empty. You guys better go learn how to make sandwiches and treat people from the West Orange location if you want to stay in business over here Also, they must save the ends" of the meat. I paid nine dollars for a sandwich that she made from meat ends that were about a quarter of an inch thick and the meat was well done It was ridiculous. I get to location at 10:40 am, order was not ready and Mel (I think she was the manager) asked what location did I order from, told her 850 Route 3 West Clifton location, her reply was "that's not here". Showed her email confirmation and she confirmed I was at the right location. They didn't have my order. She said it will be like 10 more minutes and I said it's already 30 min late and she answers with an attitude "well we didn't get your order."
