Do you notice anything in the pictures? That's right....empty, no cars at all. Should have been a red flag. I rarely go to any McDonald's except for tea but wanted a milkshake and cook out was too far away. I ordered a medium chocolate shake. Over $3. Wow Got to the window and a vanilla shake was there. I said I ordered chocolate and the man said yes and walked away. I got the attention of a different employee and he took the vanilla back and asked me to go to a pickup spot. I stayed there for almost 15 minutes and finally got a small chocolate shake. If you look you will see most of the chocolate is at the bottom of the cup. This McDs has been around for 30 years and still can't do a good job. One burger was fresh (ordered without onions) and other burger tasted old and was lukewarm. I was with a large high school group on Friday evening. The service of this store was better than I have ever experienced with a McDonalds. Kalon and Skylar were on top of making sure everyone from my group got served swiftly and the food was correct. Horrible. They got everything wrong, and forgot all four hash-browns. The only thing they got right, were the drinks. The hotcakes are dry, and when we tried to get the hashbrowns that they forgot, we had to wait at least ten minutes for them to actually ask us what we needed. Then, they took forever to make it, and when we told them about the problem, they didnt give us our money back, and didn't make the correct order. The biscuit was stale, and all the food was way too greasy. There is hair on my plate. The sausage is cold, and the hotcake doesn't taste good. We had to wait forever just to even get food. They made the entire order very expensive. They put the food in the wrong wrapper, and the plate was way too hard to open. When we were ordering our food, everything was perfect, but when we got it, everything was wrong. They poorly cared for the food. They put the burgers on the bottom of the bag, so it got squished, and the hotcakes, they are not fresh. They came out cold. They never even offered to fix the problem. I've been coming to this McDonald's on and off for over 15 years now, and it's undergone a lot of renovations and upgrades. And yes, it's still a typical McDonald's, but for some reason, my more recent experiences have all been sub-par. Once, I went through the drive-thru with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon, and when I presented the coupon while paying, the guy cursed and let out a huge sigh, making it seem like a huge annoyance that I had a coupon to give him. I don't even think anyone else was in the drive-thru behind me. Another time, I was just stopping by in the morning to get a coffee before work, and perhaps the morning crowd was more than usual that morning, but it took me way too long to stand in line to order, and even when I ordered, I had to wait for everyone else's orders to come out before I could get my coffee. If I just have a coffee, can't you just pour it while other people's food are being made in the back? I mean, I'll still visit McDonald's on occasion, but I'm finding myself coming less and less to this one because of recent experiences. read more

I came here on 1/14/21 at lunch time. I ordered on the app. I normally pick up inside but today I decided to do curbside. When ordering, it said it usually takes 5 mins before your food comes out, no biggie as I wasn't in a rush. I ordered at 1:20 and didnt get food until 1:29. I normally go inside to prevent from having to wait for someone to bring it out and this is why. I ordered two bunless burgers (keto). The appearance was nice and the order was correct. The burgers were placed on top of each other like they are supposed to (This is not the case at other locations as it's usually message and sometimes forgetting cheese). It's McDonald's, so burgers were fine. I had my own keto bread. (ALDI has some if you're wondering and it's 0 carbs). I went inside to get a couple backs of ketchup (only 2 carbs per pack according to website). Staff were friendly and wearing masks. Due to covid, beverage area was closed. Store was clean. read more

Ok but my wife needed tarter sauce for the fish sandwich and the help thought they would bring it out after the fries were done. Now her fish is cold. I mean is the food service industry that hard? Customers are now strongly encouraged into ordering at this kiosk. I personally do not find this appealing. First, there are inconsistencies with the interface. It is confusing and frustrating. For example, choosing a large is sometimes presented on the left side of the screen,and then it is on the right. Also,it is not in im alphetical order. One of my biggest gripes is how can it accommodate a customer with a particular food allergy. For example, a gluten allergy. I always order my burgers without the bun. How can this information be relayed? . What someone has any type of disability? Where is the customer service?This takes up alot of unnecessary time and energy. Also,it is cold and impersonal. They say that this is the way of the future. I frankly don't like it. A few people walked out, when they got a look at this. Is this supposed to make my dining experience more enjoyable? I guess that they feel this concept is one way that they can save money. The font on the screen needs to be customized for people with aging sight. There also needs to be an auditory option. I don't know about the rest of you, but I do not like being under the pressure of,first, trying to choose an item,from countless options. Then second, trying to find what I need much less for myself,but,for others as well. I got so frustrated that I could only order a drink Half sweet and half unsweet tea. The crew lead (the older black guy) were hassling the cook (in a friendly way mind you) over how long she was taking. it wasnt so much the waiting that bothered as it was this --- While I was waiting, a crew member came from the back and handed the crew lead --get this- a corn on the cob. And the dude started eating it right there, behind the counter in front of me and the other lady who had just ordered. No kidding. I look over around like this is a joke and then another crew person was chomping down and some corn on the cob. Pieces of corn juice squirtin out all over the facilities. Wasted our time, ripped us off We decided to stop at our local McDonald's on Harrison Ave. in Cary after church for an egg McMuffin and sausage McMuffin. After ordering, we waited in the drive-through line for a LOOOONG time while they apparently were trying to serve the car in front of the line. After at least 10 minutes, we finally reached the service window, where we were asked to "move to station 2" because our food wasn't ready. That's right, they couldn't get an Egg McMuffin and sausage McMuffin ready after 10 minutes! We declined to do so, having already waited more than 10 minutes AFTER ORDERING and having observed the staff holding up the line for others if their food wasn't ready. Once you move to one of those park-and-wait stations, they always seem to forget about you, which is why we declined to do so. The staff called the manager over to try to get us to move out of line. We told him we'd happily move if he either refunded our money or got our food to us. He said he would gladly refund our money -- if we would just move to station #2. He said he'd personally bring us our food -- if we would just move to station #2. Then he said he would both refund our money and bring us our food -- BUT ONLY IF WE WOULD MOVE OUT OF LINE TO STATION #2. By this time, they could have cooked our egg McMuffin and sausage McMuffin twice, and he easily could have gone to the register to get our money and refund it, but neither happened. Rather than arguing with his customers, he could have prioritized getting our food to us, but we weren't his priority -- the people behind us in line were. The only thing that this manager was interested in was getting us out of that drive-through line so that we could wait some more and he could serve other people. Because his staff can't make an egg McMuffin and sausage McMuffin in more than 10 minutes, he wanted to further inconvenience us. The manager got his wish. We drove away -- WITHOUT OUR MONEY AND WITHOUT OUR FOOD -- NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN. read more

In need of food late night in the Harrison Ave area of Cary, Brett R. and I chose to head into the late night drive thru of this McDonald's location. I have to say in retrospect, it was not a good decision and this review will focus on the late night drive thru visit only. I see others encountered the same type of service we found in going to this late night drive thru location. I will say if you offer a service such as late night drive thru, you better come through with making it work. Our order was taken, but only after informing us that at this hour of night, they would take cash only. Really?!? In this day and age? Luckily, had cash in hand this time. The wait was EXTRAORDINARY for a drive thru, at any time of day. I would estimate around 15 minutes of not moving after creeping forward away from the microphone, more like being in gridlock traffic. We could hear other cars yelling out in frustration, and some of the cars darting out of line to leave. So finally upon arrival to the first of two windows, the pay window, we are again asked "So, what was your order again?" Not inspiring confidence in service here. After creeping up slowly again to the last window, the person there rips her headphones off and down on the counter and yet again I am asked "What did you order again?" O_o was my reaction. We finally get our food, and get underway. The food? What you would expect, of course. Bottom line: Very disappointing late night drive thru experience. Only taking cash late night, having to repeat my order twice at the windows after placing original order plus the phenomenal wait time make this drive thru trip one of the worst I've had. read more

I get off work around 4:00 in the morning every Friday and Saturday. Sometimes I'm able to order something and most of the time they tell me they are closed. Really funny how a 24 hour store is closed every day. I asked this time when they are usually closed and they say from 3:30-4:30. Their explanation is to reset the "system" for a new day. There's been times when I come before they are suppose to switch to breakfast and they tell me they are only serving breakfast also, but the last 2-3 times I've tried to grab a bite to eat they either don't respond or tell me they are closed. read more

Please DO NOT give this particular branch your business! I usually don't write reviews, but I absolutely had to. This has got to be some of the WORST customer service I have ever seen at any establishment. I had ordered a particular specialty item, so I was willing to wait. However, after about 10 minutes of standing at the counter, I finally asked if it was going to be much longer. The person behind the counter looked at me like I was rude for even asking and said, "Yeah. I'm getting you a refund." When I asked why, she just casually said they didn't have the item I had requested. There were no apologies. She never bothered asking if I would like an alternative selection. There wasn't even a single acknowledgement that they just wasted my time making me wait so long. The worst of it was while I waited it gave me a chance to observe the interaction between the employees. Even though this was during the busy morning rush, for some inexplicable reason, they only had one lane open to serve the long line of customers while they had at least seven or eight employees "working" behind the counter. I loosely say "working" because most of them were playing around or trying to figure out who's turn it was to go on a smoke break. There were several conversations (which they had no intention of keeping private) in which employees were talking quite rudely about other employees, even using offensive language. Perhaps not surprising there was nowhere to be found a single responsible adult among the lot. That's with even several of the employees being well in their 30s or older. It really saddens me how downhill this McD's has become. It used to be an awesome location that I would use all the time to meet regularly for business breakfasts.
