1 -- Food safety + zero customer care Location: McDonald's, 7350 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, GA Date/Time: ~7:45 PM, after a 12-hour shift Order: #2 Quarter Pounder Meal -- well-done, only mustard + unsweet tea Employee at counter: Katrina I eat out a lot. Lately I've learned to pick my battles, because arguing over basic customer service has become a regular thing. But this one crossed the line. I got home, took one bite, and had to spit it out. The burger was pink/raw inside--nowhere near "well-done." I turned my car light on, opened it up, and took photos. Food safety matters. I shouldn't have to inspect dinner like a health inspector. I drove back, walked to the counter with the bag in my hand, and waited. The staff member looked at me--no greeting, no "how can I help you?" I said "hello," and explained I ordered well-done. Before I could finish, she said it "came straight off the grill." When I opened the box and showed the raw center, she just said "oh." No apology. No ownership. No "this shouldn't happen," no urgency. Ten minutes later, I got a remake--still no "sorry" or "thank you." Here's the bigger issue: we work hard for our money. Fast food isn't cheap anymore. I shouldn't have to fight for a properly cooked burger, wait 20-30 minutes, or be met with an attitude for asking for what I paid for. Mistakes happen; how you handle them is the difference between a loyal customer and a lost one. Tonight I felt like they were doing me a favor just for existing--while handing me a raw burger labeled "well-done." What I expect from management: A real apology and acknowledgment this is a food safety failure. Retraining on greetings, apologies, tone, and problem-solving. Clear standards for cook temps and order accuracy--especially when "well-done" is requested. Empower staff to fix issues with care and urgency, not defensiveness. I'm not here to embarrass anyone. The food is obviously good! But they always forget my sauce! And when I went to McDonald's on a Saturday night only two people were there including me. And the person took almost 1hr to come to the voice box and I'm not even lying. As I sat there making sure the employees knew my order and hearing them repeat the exact words that came out my mouth got me thinking WHERE IS MY 4 PIECE CHICKEN NUGGETS AND MY SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE!! If you want to get your order correct, especially for the limited edition meals or drinks, DO NOT go here!!! I have had problems twice. First time I tried ordering a Gold Chicken Sandwich they gave me a burnt regular mccrispy with no sauce. The second time I ordered the Mcdonaldland shake through Grubhub, they gave me a vanilla shake instead. I know Grubhub isn't the problem, because the bag was sealed. Drive through - ordered a Unsweet Tea mixed with Lemonade. Got through 1st window and paid - no problem. 2nd Window pickup - I was told there was not lemonade (seems to have been out for awhile). I wondered why the person who took my order didn't tell me this. Oh well, not a huge deal, so I took my unsweet tea and began to drive away - until I took a sip and it was SWEET TEA. Too many people in drive through to go around again and get a refund. Servers - pay attention!!! This isn't the only problem I've had at this McDonalds - hours say they open at 5am, but they are not ready to serve until 5:30am or closer to 6am - maybe the listed hours are wrong? Also, I've gotten undercooked breakfast food - hash browns and egg McMuffin - cooked much less than other McDonalds. read more

2/2! I like how all your franchises are leading the way in disappointment. At least the North Columbus one didn't make me wait almost 15 minutes likes its Midland neighbor, you were very upfront in your inability to meet the needs of your customers (you have earned the single star- GOOD JOB!). As soon as I pulled up they told me "Cash only!" Really? You do know it's 2025, right? 2025! Why are we still doing cash only? 2 McDonalds tonight and neither one even close to satisfying. Typical McDs like every one you've been in. Inside was fairly clean. Employee at counter was friendly. They were out of sodas, so offered tea or orange juice as alternatives. So I got an OJ since was still breakfast time. Later checked receipt to see $1 up-charge. Cashier didn't mention this. So they're out of most drink options, but still charge customers extra for what they do have? That's just poor customer service; either don't charge extra or tell customers it's extra. All tables were blocked off, so you can't eat here. Drink machines blocked off too. Can order inside or via drive thru. The chicken biscuit was delicious. Hash brown very hot; typical flavor. Tried their French vanilla iced coffee; not bad but probably try caramel version next time. Three stars for good food and fast service. Lost brownie points for being out of drinks and charging extra without notice. read more

I ordered a simple two mcdouble. I got the burgers cold and hard, as if they've been out since this morning. The bun was flaking off the wrapper. No napkins either. I would've gotten a refund but when I noticed , the business was closing. Will never return to this location. read more

Did a mobile order for breakfast at 10:21 and pushed the order to be made before I got there on the app. I arrived at 10:26 and the line was backed up out into the street. Got to the intercom at 10:32 and the lady told me she is going to have to cancel my order because they don't serve breakfast after 10:30. I'm aware they don't serve breakfast past 10:30 but I had my order pushed through on the app to be ready before I got there. Plus I got there before 10:30 the line was just long and they were moving slow. Very confused on how that fell on me when my order (which was a very small order being $2.61) should've been ready before I got there. There was NO customer service, we waited 45 minutes for a drink and everyone in the store got served before us no matter when they came in. No employee was wearing gloves and many weren't wearing head covers, I wouldn't be surprised if you found hair in your food. My food was cold and looked old. The floor was dirty and even when someone came to sweep it, they didn't get the dirt. The tables were sticky and everyone acted like they had better places to be. Just went to McDonald's on veterans store number 24343. I ordered for my daughter and I are pulled up to get my order. They gave me my food right away but asked me to pull up and wait for my shake, which I did. After about 5 min. I grabbed our food and my daughter to take the food back in and get a refund. I think the wait for just a shake was excessive but more importantly now that they seen I was white gives them enough time to do something like spit or worse to my drink therefore I refused my order. We cannot see them make our food and it's become very popular to do something to the food. In my head I waited for that shake that long because they were doing something to it. read more

Patronizing this McDonald's for years, I've seen it go from good, to bad, to awful, to good again. It's going down hill fast now. Took 5 min to get a frappe' and they weren't busy. The size has been reduced AGAIN. For $2.6o, one now gets less than 8oz. And employees don't take the time to fill it up? I'm done with this place and repeated bad service and bad value. read more

Zero stars if possible. This is the last time I will go to the McDonalds on Veterans Parkway. Drive thru, ordered 2 meals, pull up pay. Asked me to pull forward and wait even though there was nobody else in the drive thru. Brought my order to the car. They didn't put my entire order in Parked car, went in and told the girl I didn't get all the fries. She took my receipt rolled her eyes the got my fries. Wasn't going to give me my receipt back. This McDonald's always has fast service and accuracy with my orders. The last few times I have been there (including about an hour ago), the buns have been so stale that they are almost inedible. I'll probably swing by Burger King - it's close and I've never had stale buns . read more

So I went through the Drive-thru this morning around 8:10am to be very disgusted in how I was spoken to especially after a 16 hr shift on Saturday. I simply ordered 15 sausage biscuits and 15 hash browns and an oatmeal for my fellow co-workers. I don't think the little girl TATIANA heard me clearly and repeated how many? So because of my voice being so dull and still trying to wake up, I simply repeated "15" one, five. But little miss TATIANA felt to need to reply "I heard you ,you didn't have to say it like that." So I asked the cashier if she took my order she said no ma'am. I go to the second window and little miss TATIANA looked at me turned her back towards me and refused to come to the window to greet me (she obviously knew she was in the wrong) A Manager gave me my order I asked her who took my order she said it was TATIANA. You might want to shut down your location like Starbucks did and retrain TATIANA on how customer service works. I will be calling Corporate in the morning! read more
