Imagine WORKING at McDonald's and not knowing the difference between a muffin and a friggin Buscuit... Although the truth of the matter is the employees probably just don't care... I don't think I've ever went through this drive through and gotten 100% what I ordered... it's 100% like clockwork that they will get it wrong.... I love this McDonald's, but there are some issues. For example, sometimes they are always shortstaffed, which makes the lines extremely long and time-consuming. They also have messed up my order a couple of times. I've also not received for food that I paid for. This place is pretty good, but definitely needs some work. read more

If I could give a zero star I would, the service is absolutely terrible. Employees ignore anyone in the drive thru line and have to wait over 30 mins just for your order to be taken. We arrived around 10:15 pm on Friday, May 31. Please correlate this with the team working then. The food was cold and one of our burgers were pink in the middle. My McFlurry was hollowed out in the middle and ice cream was only on the sides of the cup. The service was very slow even though no one was in the drive through. The tables were not clean. We had to do their job for them by cleaning the tables. You'd think with it not being so busy they'd have time to do other types of work like cleaning the tables or cleaning the dirty bathrooms. My recommendation: It starts with the manager. Help the manager improve and to have his team take their jobs seriously. The previous ratings and my current experience shows there is a neglect happening here. It is not rocket science - it is fast food and simple management. Make it happen please. Everything I come here it is worse. It's usually wrong, and takes multiple tries to get it right. Today I ordered two strawberry milkshakes with NO whipped cream and a MEDIUM caramel Frappuccino. I got both the milkshakes back WITH whipped cream. And my Frappuccino? It was a size SMALL absolutely terrible service. Will not be coming back anytime soon. read more

They have no idea what customer service is. Lost a customer over a $1.50 After waiting over ten min in the drive through line when I get to the window to pick up my food the order is wrong. I ordered one chocolate milk shake and two fudge sundays. They only processed one milk shake and one sunday. I offered to pay for the second to get the correct number. Yet another JW Ebert McDonalds location setting the poop emoji award standard of how NOT to run a McDonalds franchise. On this fine morning they had dozens of cars trapped in the double drive thru lane and the employees inside decided they we closing the drive through because "I'm just one guy back here." So unknowingly, customers keep pulling in line only to become trapped, not knowing that the drive through is closed. But the lights are still on, it's 7:30am, but the employees are consciously just ignoring the drive through. I tell the guy he's ruining everyones morning and they are trapped until people stop blasting their horns and leave, "well call someone and complain, and maybe they will hire some people." I ask who to complain to, and the retort is, "dude, I don't know. Look it up." So, "dude" parks car, goes inside. Asks mean looking lady what's going on, the drive through is closed? She say's she doesn't know. I ask her why the guy is saying he's alone in here, I see 6-7 people. "Well they're not trained on drive through." So there's 6-7 people working making sure the 4 retired people in the store don't run out of coffee? So many questions, so many questions this location, and likely this corporation have no competency to answer. Yet for some reason JW EBert gets himself in media all the time as some shining business example. In what? How to permanently tarnish the McDonald's image and destroy their customer's day in a regular fashion? Learn how to hire and staff a proper location or closed down/sell. If you would like to sit in line for 20 mins , no one in front of you and one car at the window then this is the place to go. Absolutely ridiculous. On top of waiting to place my order the gentlemen who took my card was very rude. I went to ask for a hand full of ketchup and half way through my sentence he slammed the window in my face . Sure he may not have heard me but maybe if he didn't have headphones in he would have. I come here all the time and somehow i always have an issue. This McDonald's will never win the award for fastest service anywhere. While it may not be completely fair to blame the workers, they definitely don't push much effort into their jobs. The drive-thru is the worst design of a drive-thru restaurant I've ever encountered in my life. There is a singular booth detached from the main building that creates an awkward driving pattern. The service in the drive-thru is stunted by the fact the workers have to walk all the way across the restaurant to obtain your food. This McDonald's is by far the inferior McDonald's in Fairmont, WV. The food was prepared a while ago, I've had 1 correct order in 4 tries, and the restaurant design is faulty. And whatever you do, do not try the drive-thru between 730am and 9am or 4pm and 530pm. You'll be looking at a 20 minute experience. read more

This McDonald's is one of the slowest ones I've ever been too. I went through the drive through and it took 15 minuets for me to order, when I finally got to the window it took another 10 minuets to get my food. Also the milkshake machine was broken big surprise. It's been roughly 7 months since coming and going here it's very inconsistent with food sometimes really good, others not so good. Also a college student so up I'm late I'll drive out to get a quick snack. That "quick" could turn into an hour wait in the drive through!!! Also the credit card machine breaks down an awful lot. I'm not a regular customer at McDonald's. But I do have some favorites that I treat myself to occasionally. I love the chicken sandwiches there and I'm a big breakfast burrito fan. Oh, and the iced coffee is a great jumpstart to any sluggish day. However, I've seen an unfortunate decline in the McDonald's restaurants in this area. I've moved to California but visit Fairmont very frequently for work. And in the past 5 years or so, things have gotten pretty bad. I stopped at this McDonald's on my way to work this morning for my breakfast burrito and iced coffee fix. I'm almost always a little impatient when waiting in drive thru lines, so after almost 10 minutes, I almost just left. When I got to the window, the girl there started telling me all about how busy she is and how overworked and how hard it is to do everything there. First, I'm a pretty caring person, but I didn't know this girl from anyone and I really just wanted to get my food and get to work. Second, my burrito looked and tasted like it had been sitting there all night. And the ice in my iced coffee had all melted. So, it's cool, but not cold and definitely not fresh. So, I'm a little disappointed. The quality of my orders from this McDonald's varies alot depending on what time of day it is. Sometimes breakfast items are way better, but service is always very slow. And the store in Whitehall is even worse. The staff there aren't even friendly. At least my order was correct. This is, bar far, *the* worst fast food location I've ever been to! When I say that, don't take that lightly. I've, sadly, been to quite a few. Out of the various fast food franchises and locations this one is the absolute worst. The wait time is far longer than it should be. It's like I'm at a sit down restaurant! I have never gotten my order done correctly and they're frequently out of things because either they didn't order it or the machine for it is broken. Honestly, their parent corporation needs to look into completely shutting this location down, demolishing the old building & building a new one, then finally rehire with competent staff. I wouldn't want some of the people that work there to shine my shoes! I'm not saying they're all bad, but the good ones quite because there are too few of them. The woman taking my order was extremely rude and I feel like all of the night shift workers lie about things. One night they're closing at midnight, one night they can't take cards, one night they can't take cash, and one night they can't $50 dollar bills after 11 PM. It's a complete mess here and it really sucks because this is the closest one to my house but we make the drive to east side almost every time now. read more

Went through around 10pm tonight and I ordered a hamburger happy meal, a chicken nugget happy meal and an extra hamburger with only ketchup. We got our order.... with a bite out of the hamburger!!! I opened my burger to make sure it was correct and I saw what looked like a bite mark. I asked my sister and my mom to see what they thought and they too said that it looked like someone took a bite. My mom asked me to go back and complain, but I didn't feel like talking to a manager to hear, "I'm sorry, here's another burger with spit in it." Our cokes were flat and I'm totally upset with this place. I will never eat here again and I encourage all of you to not either. read more

Fortunately they finally tore down that old McDonald's and replaced it with the more modern version, including a dual-lane drive thru. Don't even waste your time. I got there at 9:30 pm and had one car in front of me pulled out at 10:15 and this is a common occurrence. We literally live just down the road and it is faster for us to drive to the other side of town then to go here. And the food is OK at best. And management could care less. Sitting in the drive thru for long periods of time is not stranger to this McDonald's... going on to 30-50min wait times and that's even with people leaving because they don't want to wait... the entirety of blame doesn't go to the workers since there's only one woman who works almost every night alone (bless her heart I've seen her deal with death threats and shouting due to her slowness) if they had more than one person working night shift things would probably be better... but then again probably not since most of their employees are rude college students who don't take their job seriously... read more

After having renovations done, this McDonald's has fixed the issues they had with their drive-thru, but the service is still less than average. I am an infrequent customer at McDonald's, but when I do choose to eat there, there is always something wrong with the order. read more

It's McDonald's- seriously waited in line 45 minutes for a sweet tea. And there were only 2 cars ahead of me. Not to mention don't try using a card past 10pm the machine is always down. And on multiple occasions I've driven up to the window to be told "were not currently taking orders" only to see the woman with the headset sitting by her car smoking a cigarette while telling me they're closed. I'm not one to complain but I've lived here for 3 years and I've never once gotten decent service from this MCDONALDS. Although it is newly remodeled and a lot cleaner the service is not very good. I ordered egg mcmuffins 2 different times with problems - 1 swiss cheese instead of yellow american (was not informed of substitution due to McD's being out of cheese) and 2 - did not put canadian bacon on sandwiches. I gave it one more star this time for cleanliness.....we shall see how long it takes to be back at a one star. I do believe that the poor service stems from managers who let the employees get by with goofing off (which I have seen). Thank you for letting me rant a moment. read more
