Located on the Hwy 290, this McDonald's is a great spot to get some fast food. The store is pretty spacious. We stopped by this afternoon and got fries and chicken nuggets. Food was great and latte was ok too. The only thing is their curbside service is a bit weird. This was my first time at this location, I was on my way to Houston and stopped here for my girls. The young man at the first window educated me on the app (I was using it all wrong‍) The sweet girl at the second window heard my babygirl saying how she hopes she doesn't get the same buzz light year toy; so she told her they had other options and let my baby choose Dory. I don't know why but it took nearly 20 minutes two fry eggs, slap them on a English muffin with a slice of cheese, wrap them in their respective color coded paper, toss in bag with so napkins. I ordered a two Egg McMuffin's with no meat. This location definitely has some nighttime lallygagging occurring! The General manager will assume you are trying to steal his marked up, no power Ford that he parks in two spaces.He approached us while we were outside and asked what the issue was. We tried to explain that we were comparing our truck with his and he demanded we leave. We told him we haven't done anything wrong so he called the police to have us leave. They charged me 89 cents for 2 slices of a Roma tomato! I can buy a Roma tomato for 20 cents retail at the grocery store so McDonalds can probably buy 1 for less than 10 cents. They can get 6 slices out of each tomato That makes every serving cost less than 3 cents. Total corporate greed! read more

There is a young man who has taken my order a couple times and he seems to really hate his job. His greeting is simple "what do you want?" And every additional item is immediately followed by an exaggerated sigh. I actually feel bad ordering more than one item because of how put out he seems. While traveling to Austin we needed a place to eat lunch. This location had low ratings but the kids wanted McDonald's so we stopped. Our order was quickly taken and the food came out fast. It was hot, fresh, and good (for McDonald's). The place was relatively clean and there was a slight issue with my order but the manager promptly fixed it. Not sure why it has such low reviews but maybe they are under new management or something. We would stop again when passing through. read more

My 'black' iced coffee was so sweet my lips are still sticky an hour later. My sister asked for the same with light creamer and was given a cup of cream that may or may not have included coffee. I've been to this McDonald's in the past with only a few issues here and there BUT what I experienced this past weekend was beyond ridiculous. I pulled up and placed my order and there was only 1 vehicle in front of me...almost 15 minutes later I had my order with no apology for the delay no nothing! The very rude young guy forgot my drink so I had to pull around, park and go inside. I finally was able to get his attention and stated that he forgot to get my drink and did I get an apology then?? Of course not, he handed it to me without a word and went back to work. When I arrive back at my hotel, my son saw that he didn't get his double cheeseburgers PLAIN as I ordered them and as the receipt clearly stated but with all the goodies. I called and spoke with the manager and her response was "oh, well...I guess I can replace those if you want to come back"....REALLYY?!?!?! Wow, what a horrible attitude and what a horrible experience. To top it off, when I got there and told her that I was planning on writing the owners, her response was "oh...ok" I guess. When are places like this going to realize that they are not doing me the favor, I am doing them the favor by visiting their business and helping them pay the bills???? read more

Was on my way out of town early and who doesn't want McDonalds breakfast on a road trip? Stopped here and got horrible service. Went through the drive through to order and the man over the intercom seemed like I was inconveniencing him. But I get it. It's early so I brushed it off. When I pulled up to the front window someone had their back to the window and you here could hear loud and truly inappropriate conversation. I sat and waited and waited for them to turn around. Once they did again it felt like I the customer was inconveniencing them. This place is run by a bunch of high schoolers on holiday. Do yourself a favor and go across the road to Bucees. The only reason we wanted stop by this McDonalds location is because it was on the way as we embarked on a monthly outdoor trip. They are supposed to be open at 6 a.m., but we were waited patiently at their drive thru waiting for them to open. After waiting for some time, it got to be around 6:10 a.m. and we swung around to check if anybody was working inside. They only had one male, Hispanic looking worker that got to to restaurant around 5:45 a.m. He was only one inside and ignoring all customers. I even checked to see if I could walk into the lobby, but the doors were closed and he ignored me as I politely knocked on glass. There was at least 4 other cars that we noticed who tried to order from the drive thru, that drove off since they weren't truly open for business at 6 a.m. This McDonalds clearly does not adhere to their restaurant hours and does not care to provide an excellent experience to their customers. I will be reporting the manager (whose supposed to be responsible for operations) to McDonalds corporate. Hope to see this place improve! read more

Drive thru is TERRIBLE. Had to repeat my order in the intercom 6 times and they literally did the opposite of my order. Asked for a mcdouble with no ketchup and onion and they gave me one with no mustard and pickles. Asked for a new and showed them my receipt and they still wanted me to pay for 2 more. A few months ago mybhusband and I were targeted by rude disqusting employees who ibsaw spit in our drink they sent us our order that had rotten lettuce and treated us so horribly that i finally had to call the main corperate office and they reviwed the camera and and listend and watched what they did to us! Just went here the other night and tried the new Clubhouse Quarter pounder and let me tell you...we were quite pleased! The applewood bacon was plentiful and the Big Mac sauce was a perfect compliment! We are looking forward to our next visit. I'm not one to give a review of a chain but the McDonald's of Giddings deserves one. We stopped there in morning on trip to Houston and grabbed breakfast and bathroom break at which point I apparently left my phone at the check out. We realized it about 15 minutes down road and I called with my husband's phone...not only did they verify it was mine by having me call it directly (which I appreciated as a safety measure), they secured it in back and wouldn't give it to me until I called it again. The staff was friendly and polite and on a busy Saturday morning, they served fresh hot food (I got the oatmeal and it was fine and coffee great and my husband's sandwich was fine), were quick and the restaurant's restrooms pretty clean for a busy McDonald's on well traveled highway. I think they deserve better than some of the ones posted here, what exactly do some folks expect at a busy McDonald's? read more

Driving back from Houston to Austin we stopped here. Since we were in a hurry, we went through the drive-thru so we could continue driving while we ate. As long as it took to get our food, we could have gone inside and eaten. They took forever! There were only 2 of us. I ordered the quarter pounder sandwich only with no cheese and my son ordered a nugget meal. Apparently our order totally confused them. When we got to the 2nd window and the worker repeated our order, we discovered it was wrong, so I had to pull up to the 3rd window and wait while they fixed it. I swear it took 30 minutes just to get our food. It was ridiculous. And after all that, no ketchup included with my son's fries. I think I will skip this location next time we drive through town. read more
