East to west on State Road 70, the Golden Arches is a familiar sight in downtown Okeechobee. Fairly clean but cramped location, this McDonald's has two drive-thru lanes and a small parking lot. $1.00 any size coffee brought me here early on a Saturday morning. 4 cream - 2 sugar, coffee was warm but not especially hot. I wish I would've read the reviews before I came here. When I first walked in I was like yay lobby is opened and it's decorated nicely for Valentine's Day. We waited for about 7 minutes for someone to just tell us they weren't opened even though there was no sign on the door and lobby door was unlocked. Then he proceeded to say we don't have any food right now but can ring you up for drinks. I have no problem with closing down to clean but lock the door and put a sign up. I don't think that's too much to ask for I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

A friend of my husband's left our house on his way home he stopped at this location . He was refused service even though this store claims they are open 24 hrs . He went inside to order his food it was 3 am and the crew told him they aren't making any food til 4 am for breaksfast he wasn't asking for breaksfast he wanted burgers . That's ridiculous read more

Had a mobile order and went in drive thru line but had to go back through when they forgot two sandwiches. The manager snatched the receipt out of my husbands hands. She then proceeded to say over and over that she packed the bag and knew she put them in there insinuating that we're lying so we handed her the bag of food and she she still continued to say that it was in there. Why would we lie? Just admit you messed up and give us what we paid for. We could've complained about the large drink that was only 3/4 full but we didn't so to treat us like thieves over two sandwiches was wild and honestly disgusting. After a 90 mile drive from Sarasota to Ochechobee, with no real civilization in between, we finally came across a familiar site just off in the horizon! To our delight, this was no mirage, but instead the famed "golden arches" of the fast food giant, McDonalds. Not the most healthy option for lunch, but it was either this or an empty diner up the block. An obviously very new McDonalds from the inside and out, this location was big, modern, and clean. The service was actually "fast" and the employees seemed friendly enough to us non locals. Food tasted as "fresh" as it could be for McD's, and the fries were especially piping hot/crispy and well salted. Other than the above mentioned, we all know the drill when it comes to McDonalds, but this one did everything right. I highly recommend stopping here on your way through route 70 for a quick bite! read more

Manager and cook not wear protective mask while preparing food. Had mask on but the mask was pulled down around their chins. The other employees were wearing their masks properly. If the manager is not following the mask rule during a pandemic, you got to wonder what she is missing and letting "slide" in the operation. I will never eat here again. Took my volleyball and soccer teams here after a game- we were greeted with- there is no ice cream, shakes, slushees, or salad. Employees refused to open a register to take the kids orders - made all 35 of them order from the kiosks. You know how long it takes 12 & 13 year olds to find exactly what they want on the menu screen?? Asked if they could at least take the bus driver's order and they told her to wait and use the kiosk. The order numbers didn't correlate with the numbers being called out so kids were getting the wrong orders. A few of my players never got their order and when asked - the employee snatched their receipt and said- yep I called out that order. While there, other customers mentioned that the McDonalds by the lake was the one to go to. read more

Automated and ridiculous!! Seems that there are more employees, yet the orders were VERY slow and not complete. There was confusion, chaos and inconsistency. Cashiers changed with every order!! There's 2 McDonald's in Okeechobee. Go to the other one. Trust me. The buns at this one are always dry, the burger patties are always cold and dried out. Never juicy. They are NEVER made fresh to order, it doesn't matter what time of day you go. If you get cheese on your burger the cheese will be either unmelted and cold or melted but still cold because your burger patty was made 20min ago and sat in a warmer, a warmer which apparently doesn't work very well as every burger I've ever got from this McDonald's has been room temp or cold. The final straw that broke me and made me write this review came when I ordered a big Mac combo on the way to a doctors appointment out of town. After I was already on the road out of town I opened the little box the Big Mac comes in and what I saw was a stack of small dried out shriveled up paper thin patties of beef(?) mashed between pieces of stale bread so soaked with Mac sauce that the bottom layer of the bun fell apart into mush in my hands as I tried to hold it. I began tearing away all that extra bread so that the buns would match the size of the burger patties and by the time I was done I had a small pitiful handful of mushed up soggy bread and cold meat that I wouldn't feed to a dog. But since I had nothing else to eat I stuffed this disgusting excuse for food down my throat thinking to myself that I would just fill up on the fries, but when I dipped into the box of fries what I found was a barely cooked pile of sloppy floppy undercooked mush. It was like digging my fingers into a pile of dead earthworms. If you have ANY desire to eat halfway decent tasting food then PLEASE do yourself a favor and drive the extra distance to the other McDonald's down by the lake, it is absolutely worth it. read more

I'll be fair. I've been here a dozen times with no problems. But I guess Christmas was not the day to have McDonald's. The drive through line was a mile long, It took 45 minutes to reach the second first window, they lost our order, and then the fries were raw. The entire time, no one came outside to warn us, no one on staff apologized or explained what had happened. Was it training day? Grill burned out? A strike? It took 30 minutes to get 8 chicken tenders, and a medium fry. They said it would only take 10. They are very disorganized.

We were driving though town and stopped at this McDonald's. It took 20 minutes to get our food. Everyone in the back was laughing and chit chatting, grouping together and talking, going in and out of the back, and some people were going on break. The people in the drive through seemed to be getting their food in a reasonable time but the group of inside were not. My mom finally got fed up and yelled out that we had already been waiting 15 minutes for our food and no one acknowledged her, and the manager was standing right there. She said it a second time and the manager finally turned around and gave her some excuses and no apology. Hire a manager that actually manages. Oh! And my mom had also ordered her burger without cheese and they actually put double cheese. She just took it because we wanted to get out of there. read more

This was one of the most disappointing McDonald's stops I've ever made and with four kids I've made a few. My first order was incorrect and the second was incorrect as well. Rather than hold up the rest of my party I decided to take what I got. I waited longer than about 6 or 7 who had come in after me and only received my order after asking for it. I had to go back twice to get my utensils and butter for hotcakes. My sister's order was cold. At least one of the adjacent tables was filled with crumbs.
