It was our last day visiting Okeechobee and we wanted something authentic to the city. We ended up at the Livestock Market and were not disappointed! This spot has about 5 tables for seating + a counter right in front of the kitchen window. The patrons are adorned in cowboy hats and blue jeans. The floor rattles and building shakes as cattle are ushered in and out of the auction area attached to the restaurant. The smell of freshly cooked beef fills the air as bacon sizzles on the grill. This place is the real deal. The burger is classic Americana done right. The time/tested trio of lettuce, tomato, onion toppings bring feelings of nostalgia. The fried okra the perfect side to round everything out. Everyone was friendly to us even though it was obvious we were two tattooed outsiders visiting for a hippy festival down the street. Really appreciated the hospitality and will definitely return if we are ever in the area again.

Good burger. Made from fresh ground beef. Fried okra. Tater tots.

I was heading up this way to Sebastian and always want to find new and unique places. I ate here and it was cool seeing the live auction below. Burger was tasty. Staff was nice. I'd come back

It's a real stockyard the cattle were being auctioned as we dined YeeHaw!!!

Bucket List Item - This little restaurant is located inside the Okeechobee Livestock Market (Live Cattle Auction) - yes while the kitchen is flipping some of the most juiciest flavorful 1/2 pound burgers that you'll ever bite into cowboys wrestle live cattle through the chutes into the auction pen where they are shown off and sold to the highest bidders. This historic landmark has been operating since the 1930's and believe me it is like stepping back in time, the mooing and smell of fresh manure only adds to the ambience - it seems Wrangler Jeans, Tony Lama Boots and Stetson Hats are the preferred attire and big belt buckets are worn like badges of honor, these are real cowboys and ranch hands, the parking lots are filled with big pickup trucks, cattle trailers and cattle transporters, lucky for me I was in my Jeep if it wasn't for my Tommy Bahama shorts and Under Armour Polo I might have blended right in - it doesn't matter really, we grabbed two open seats at the diner counter and spent the entire time except for the time we were stuffing our faces laughing and joking with the two wonderful servers and short order cook these folks are friendly, it was as if we were locals because no one cares where you're from or what you do, everyone here are friends. The Burger - 1/2 pound hand pattied everyday fresh local beef, served with lettuce, fresh thick sliced tomatoes, thick cut raw onion, pickles & OLM sauce cooked on a flat top to the desired temperature I think it will be medium unless you want it rarer, it is a beautiful piece of meat all on a fresh oversized bun. There also serve a 1 pound double meat burger I was told they sell a few but few have finished it. They only accept Cash - No Credit Cards or Cryptocurrency. I highly recommend this place, if you only eat one meal in Okeechobee it should be eaten here...

Small space. Rancher's favorite for cattle auction and a great burger. Monday and Tuesday are auction days and if you've never been you should go. The auction is in a theater style pit and the cattle are sent in for the buyers to bid on. Anyone can watch, but bidding is serious business. The livestock is noisy and smelly and the auction is walled off from the small diner with a glass wall with a door to go between the two. The dinner has 5 tables and a counter they serve a small menu and great hamburgers. It's mainly there for the cattle owners, but open to all. The diner is surprisingly clean and the staff is friendly and efficient. You can smell and hear the livestock, but the food is great. Best burger in okeechobee but be prepared for the atmosphere. We love it

    Great burgers!

The best burger you will ever find. The cattle & auction in the back ground just add to the experience. Excellent service.

After reading Dave O's review, I dared myself to go in and had a blast watching the auction while my burger was being cooked.
