Outstanding spot for breakfast in Okeechobee. Service is fast and friendly. Food is incredible. Great biscuits, sausage gravy was perfectly seasoned and the right amount of gravy-ness, eggs, bacon and sausage were excellent. If you like crispy hash browns, just take them as is. I ordered "crispy", I was impressed with the cook's ability to make a single hash brown crisp that you could pick up like and eat like an elephant ear... Right when you walked in your greeted by the hostess with a smile. Was driving through Okeechobee County on an early Saturday morning and have heard good things from others who have eaten here. Definitely mom and Pop diner vibe. We set it off with a full order of biscuits and gravy. Biscuits and gravy was to die for highly recommend. The gravy itself can just be eaten without a biscuit. Pogesy's is such an awesome breakfast spot in Florida and more! It's delicious all the way around! I always go for the specialty Ruben omelette I've yet to find one anywhere else that's as good as here. The service is usually spot on. It can be a very crowded spot especially in the winter with all the snow birds visiting in the winter time. Inside is very accommodating. They have a huge area to sit and enjoy yourself. If you are in this area of Florida I highly recommend you stopping in and having either breakfast or lunch they have a great combo either way. read more

My husband and I recently did a road trip and stopped here for lunch. This is truly a hidden gem. It was packed but the service was quick so we really just waited 15 min to be seated. Our server was very sweet. It was decorated with pictures of the everglades and a gator by the cashier. Very casual family owned diner. We shared the biscuits and gravy and they were mouthwatering good! My husband the had steak and gravy which he liked. I tried their fried chicken sandwich and it was fried to perfection. Pogey's is a down-to-earth family restaurant that if you know where to look on Parrot Avenue, you will find a good meal for a decent price and not leave hungry. We were in town for a wedding. And before we returned back to South Florida, we found this spot for Sunday breakfast. With the wait for tables a few parties deep, we were fortunate to find a couple of stools at the counter that we could sit immediately. After ordering iced coffee, I enjoyed the sausage gravy and biscuits platter while my wife had the Reuben omelette. Both her and I enjoyed our meal, with my ordering an extra side of bacon because bacon. The sausage gravy was solid with the biscuits, hash browns, and eggs over medium. The restaurant has a notable fishing motif with the wall behind the front counter having a large mural of the Pogey family on a fishing boat in the Everglades. Definitely a lot of local and family vibes for this eatery that will give you a good meal if you are passing through or staying the night. read more

Family owned a definite must! Not many places serve eggs with onions, without having to ask them to add them. ! Loved the country scramble. The pork chops were so juicy and flavorful- had to eat both. Our waitress was like speaking with my best friend. Loved her! So many beautiful families in one location. One of the best food services around. Our waitress was fast friendly and nice. and the food tasted good and I barely had to wait for it. I was impressed with this place. The Biscuits and Gravy tasted good. The gravy was good and homemade. We are the whole thing fast. I liked the flavors. The Shevulla was like a skillet without the skillet part but inside a fried tortilla bowl instead. I had some options with this dish. I chose tater tots and bacon as my protein and potatoes. This was a good size dish and tasted good. I especially liked the fried tortilla. It was good and crunchy. I couldn't stop eating it. This restaurant is very good for breakfast. A friendly family restaurant! We felt very welcomed immediately upon entering. The staff was very nice and honestly very quick. They had so many options on their menu it was hard to choose. I went with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, hash browns, and biscuits. Couldn't have been happier as it was exactly what I was craving. They even had my favorite Smucker's jam varieties. My boyfriend ordered the Ruben omelette and he was in heaven. It was so good! A fun fishing themed restaurant for the whole family to enjoy. She finally came back to take our order. Her and another lady who was cashiering, clunked down our plates and dropped the toast on floor. Cashier said she would get more. When I asked cashier, as she was walking by, if the toast was done, because the waitress never came back, her reply "no it's not" in a hostile tone. I must have passed this place a thousand times! Wow! What was I thinking? I stopped by for brunch and man was I impressed. When you walk in they have an alligator head in the checkout counter and mounted fish all over the walls, with a little boat hanging from the ceiling! It's a breakfast and lunch diner. I had the catfish wrap. Thought I'd try something different? It was excellent! Also a side of a half order of biscuits and gravy. Very tasty! My guest had a roast beef sandwich which was also very tasty. I had my favorite drink, unsweetened iced tea which came in a very large glass and my guest had a cup of coffee which was also a large cup. Very reasonably priced. It's sort of hidden since the building is sideways to the highway and there's no sign? It's about a quarter mile past Walmart headed north on 441 on the east side. Definitely worth a try!!! A great find! We were looking for a local place to eat since we are not from the area. When my friend chose this place I wasn't sure.. but immediately became sure as we arrived. The parking lot was full and there were people waiting to enter. This is normally a good sign. Everyone in the restaurant were super nice. You feel welcomed the moment you enter and you drinks are always full. The food was filling and delicious. I ordered two eggs scrambled, toast, ham and grits. I could have ordered a pot of these grits to go. That's how great they are! My friend ordered the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were perfectly fluffy and the gravy was on point. I was charged twice for my breakfast , they said my card wasn't charged but it was I then paid cash .. it's been a few days now and hasn't been credited back to me I paid 84 and change for breakfast and they have not responded or fixed the problem. Thats a shame because it was good food but obviously managment doesn't care about their customers I hope they fix it as soon as possible and maybe they can upgrade their point of sale system because it's flawed and I'm sure this isn't the first time. other than that they have great breakfast and service was good too thank you for the great breakfast (but it wasn't even close to being 84 dollars worth) read more
