We ordered breakfast to go online. It said it would be ready by 1107am. I understand it can take longer as today was a busy day however we had missing food. I ordered 2 coffees 15 minutes before we got our food and never got the coffee. Probably the worst idea we ever had. Should've just gone to the burger king at the corner. They also did not put any silverware and when I asked for some was only given 2 sets for 3 meals. No butter or jelly was provided neither. First, most people know it for the restaurant. However, to get to that restaurant, you have to walk through the country store. The country store part is pretty cool. Some things are overpriced, but there are some things that are pretty cool. The food in the restaurants is nothing spectacular, however, it is also not terrible. The food here is basically what you would expect from a national company. Cracker Barrel country store, like most national companies, is more concerns with consistency rather than making the product excellent. All In all, I prefer their breakfast over any other meal. Cannot believe how awful this place has become. My son comes here for his birthday each year. I should have known that this was going to be rough from the beginning, the hostess decided to go through all these tickets (a significant stack) before seating us (party of 3) we sat for more than 10 minutes before anyone approached us for drinks, we provided our entire order (dumplings, pot roast, chicken tenders) our waitress asked us if we wanted our biscuits now or with our meal we requested now, with honey too please. 10 additional minutes later 2 waters and a lemonade show up. 10 additional minutes later she finally brings the biscuits but no plates, only butter and never came back. We now have waited over 40+ minutes and still no food and our waitress hasn't said anything. During this time the table in front of us had 2 little girls with their moms and she was consistent in stopping by their table only and not making any eye contact with us. At this point we got up and began to leave she then looked puzzled I told her to cancel our food. I went back up to the hostess (who was playing on her phone) to request a manager, the manager showed up and when I told him the story he was very casual about it used the excuse of she is sort of new, never apologetic did offer to take care of me but told him that I would not be staying nor would I be back I guess this upset him because he said just because of this one experience, told him yes because it clearly shows how you manage. I also informed him that I manage our catering meals for my company and would be letting your catering manager know we will not be utilizing you in the future as well. He offered me some Gold card but I refused that as well. I did offer to pay for the lemonade my son did drink but he said don't worry about that and our conversation ended. We left and went to Chick Fil-A instead and had a much better experience. Once inside the restaurant, I started with the Stewart's root beer. I don't usually drink soda but every once in a while it's a treat. Our waitress was nice but we had to ask for a refill of our coffee and that took a bit to come out. Other than that, it's a standard typical chain hence the 3.5 rating. I ordered my favorite meal, the Chicken Fried Chicken, and the meal was mediocre at best. One chicken breast was so thin there was hardly any meat and the one that did have meat was chewy. Cracker Barrel is not known for their low sugar specialties. But I did find a grilled chicken salad with choice of dressing. Amy suggested I choose the balsamic vinegar dressing and I did.
