This is a recently renovated McDonald's in Downtown Raleigh. It has a high sanitation score and is clean. Restrooms are for customers so I buy items here. They are just very slow with service. Taking orders and preparing. This is also a big homeless spot and they take up most of the seating. But it is nice having a cheaper option to stop downtown for a quick bite. read more

I honestly can not recall ever being in a more disorganized and chaotic restaurant in my entire life. I stopped by last week to get a mango-pineapple smoothie. That was all I wanted. I first tried ordering using the kiosks. They were all lit up, but none of them would take an order (the first one I tried rebooted as soon as I touched it), so I waited in line to order in person. After a few minutes, I placed my order and joined the large number of people ahead of me who were waiting for their orders. We all waited. And waited. And waited. Orders trickled out, and roughly half the people I saw pick up their food ended up coming back because the order was wrong or incomplete. The level of annoyance and frustration in the room was palpable and uncomfortable. One DoorDash driver said he had been waiting 15 minutes, then discovered the food he was supposed to pick up had been labled with the wrong receipt and had been sitting there the whole time. I waited over 20 minutes (no exaggeration) for my smoothie, and it finally popped up on the order monitor as completed, but it hadn't appeared yet. When I was finally able to flag someone down, I told her what I was waiting for, and she said, "Oh, we don't have mango-pineapple smoothies today. I can make a strawberry-banana if you want." I said yes, and within 3 minutes, she was back with it. I'm perplexed as to how an order for something they don't even have is processed, pops up on the "in progress" monitor, then progresses to the "completed" monitor. I went back a few days later because I knew I was going to post a review, and I wanted to see if my experience was a fluke. It was 2:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, and I approached the counter to order and waited. And waited. And waited. No one came to the register. Workers were buzzing back and forth in the kitchen, and I made eye contact with a couple of them, but no one acknowledged me or said, "Someone will be right with you." I glanced at my watch when I got to the counter, and I glanced at it when I finally called it a day and left, and a full five minutes had passed with no interaction at all with anyone, much less an order. There were two people behind me in line, and they had been there the whole time as well. When I left, I turned to them and wished them luck! My impression both times was that they seemed totally focused on the drive-thru, which seemed to be running smoothly, and the dine-in customers were an afterthought. And not to be totally negative, the restaurant appeared to be very clean, and the smoothie I eventually got the first visit was pretty good. read more

Probably the worst McDonalds I've ever been to based on the customer service and wait times. Ordered a cheese burger, coke and 6 piece nuggets. The turnaround? Not 5 mins. Not 10 mins. Over 15 mins... I went up several times to check and despite being polite and cordial about the order was literally greeted with blank stares and not a single word. They literally just mumbled and walked. I'm not a avid reviewer or enjoy flaming places, so you should consider that. I'd post less than 1 star if it were humanly possible. Someone should seriously flag this location with corporate. It's a brand liability. And whoever Carla B - she's incompetent. Looking at the reviews this is not an isolated issue. This place is kind of grim, but it's also a regular McDonald's that works mostly like any other one (except no self-serve drinks and dire warning signs about how many refills you can get). I hadn't eaten all day and arrived nearly late to an event at the nearby performance center. This was the only place nearby on a Sunday night that seemed likely to be quick enough. Some of the outside signage is burned out and there's more than a couple panhandlers nearby, but I guess you can get anything off the normal McDonald's menu (which is pretty bad, but same as anywhere). They have a parking attendant to make sure you don't leave your car here and go some place else. The restaurant was clean enough and it was just your typical McDonald's. I came here for breakfast and I almost always order their Sausage Egg McMuffin so that's what I got. Their coffee was nice and piping hot! After eating my meal, I drove over to park at a nearby parking structure before heading over to the convention center. read more

People were yelling because they'd also been waiting almost an hour, workers were barely moving while the manager was the only one trying to get anything done. Seriously though - this one is horrible in ways that others I've been to aren't. Let's be clear - there is only one reason to ever go to any McDonald's: Your hunger is eating you alive and it's literally right in front of you. I went October 30th 2022 at around 6:50pm, ordered but from the start the lady at the drive thru had a bad attitude . I ordered a kid 4 piece I asked for no drink & she kept questioning my order with attitude when i get to the window she charged me for a drink. Yes it wasn't a huge charge but that isn't the point. Last night, I stopped at this McDonald's location. This by far is one of the worst McDonald's Restaurants ever! I had a survey coupon for a free pie that I attempted to use at this location. I was told by a rude employee that I couldn't use it here, because it didn't come from this McDonald's. I politely told her that I use survey coupons all the time at the different locations. She then talked to another employee about it and then came back a short time later and told me that it was unreadable. I then asked to speak with the manager about it. I had to stop this morning to grab a Caramel Frappe and the normal McD I go to has been absolutely awful, so I thought I'd give this location a try. The McD in downtown Raleigh on E. South St (off Wilmington) is awesome! The drive thru was fast, efficient and when I got to the first window, the woman was so friendly and in such a good mood! Considering it's early in the morning, it's nice to have someone who makes your morning better by chit chatting and being genuinely happy. I've had such a bad experience at the McD on Western Blvd that I was nervous to even go to this one, but it was worth driving the extra miles to get better service! This is for the early morning of Thursday, June 1. The restaurant hours posted on their drive-through window show that they're supposed to be open until 1 AM. I showed up at 12:25 AM and they refused to serve me even though after I asked if they had any issues with their systems where they had to close down the store they said no. They blatantly just refused to serve me for no reason other than they felt like leaving early and going home. There would be no love lost on my part if the manager and employee working this shift were disciplined for this. We ordered two mochas not a large order by any means. We moved to the side quietly to realize the customer behind us walked up placed order and got his food immediately. I let this slide then I received our drinks without straws and was told at counter that she had given them to us as if we were trying to steal them or something. All the nicer places seemed to either not open for lunch at all on weekends or else they finish by 1:30 to 2:00. I stumbled on this McD's down near the Progress Center. As for the menu ... well, McFood is McFood, though the Asian chicken salad isn't bad as a quick, healthy-ish lunch. The place was clean (enough). What more can you ask of a McDonald's?
