We went in with good expectations, but oh we were so woolly disappointed. While everyone from the Manager to the servers were just lovely, I can't in good conscience, recommend this restaurant. The menu is exactly as I expected, staples like meat and potatoes and that sort of thing. Since we were in the Midwest, my expectations were exactly that. What I did not expect is how entirely bland the food would be. I'm a New Orleans so I know everyone does not cook the way we do. We believe in building flavor profiles in our food,, contrary to the belief that some people have of people in the south. Now we don't throw cayenne on everything and expect a call a dish seasoned. I realize that I was not going to be eating a New Orleans dish, which was fine with me because as a Navy veteran I've lived all over the United States. Still, this food was so bland that I found it barely edible. It's a shame because I really wanted to like the food, especially based on the service that I received.
