I'm only giving this 2 stars because they seem to mess up less than the McDonald's on Peabody, but jeez they really struggle with the drive through. We're often missing items and have to hold up the line to double check our order. Today, checked my order but didn't open all the boxes. What a mistake. Instead of a 10 piece nugget, got a gross patty of some sort with onions. This McDonalds is SO INEFFICIENT. Stopped by on a Wednesday morning at 10:00am and went in because the drive thru was packed, then I tried to use the kiosks in the lobby. Spoiler alert: they don't work if you're paying with a card. It printed me a ticket and I thought, well at least my order was submitted in front of all these people who've now jumped into my spot in line. I had to wait and the cashier looked 15 and kept repeating everything thing problem said back to them. Halfway wrong. It was torture. Finally got to the front and he's like "oh you're paying with card," and shifts to another register. They really need some computer system maintenance. The good? The inside is clean and updated, there's TONS of parking for Georgia Ave -this is amazing. Also, my food was fresh, hot & right but they really need to work out their logistics. When I order an item, I expect that it will be freshly assembled after I place my order, but at 8:17 am on Sunday 13 July, I ordered a meal at 7425 Georgia Ave that included a sausage burrito as part of a promotional offer. I took my burrito back to a table to sit and consume it, but after I removed the burrito from the to-go bag, I found my burrito to have melted and almost fused against the paper wrapping, making it impossible for me to unwrap my burrito enough to even pick up the food item and take a bite, the tortilla had melted cheese all over and actually fused against the paper wrap. When I was able to unwrap enough to take a bite the egg and sausage bits were very cold, and obviously not fresh. How can I place an order in the future and assure that I will get a freshly ade sausage burrito and not one that has been sitting under a warming lamp for long enough to fuse the outer tortilla to the wrapper? read more

This location is not the closest to home but I go out of my way to come here because the other location doesn't have a drive thru, is not 24 hours and has a number of issues I'd rather not have to deal with when I'm just trying to get something to eat. I've never dined in at this location but my experiences have almost always been positive when going through the drive thru. The lines tend to move fast, my orders have always been accurate, my food has always been hot and the staff has always been somewhat friendly. One issue I recently came across though was a man standing right on the other side of the second drive thru window panhandling. I could practically reach out and touch him or the other way around as I was grabbing my food which seemed a little too close for comfort IMO. I know the employees that were working the second window saw him and I was alarmed when I drove by hours later and he was still there! Hopefully that was just a one off because I haven't seen anyone doing that since. read more

This is my go to for McDonalds. Quick drive from my apartment. They know me by now. They do my special request when asked. I'm kind of addicted to the Diet Coke from McDonald's. I swear it's so good on a hot day. The workers are super hard working and are always super friendly. Sometimes at night it gets slow. Had people honking eventually, but I don't really mind. Jose and the woman who works the window. Marissa or I feel bad I can't remember her name. I try to speak Spanish. I love Spanish and never get to speak the language with anyone. So they humor me. "Mi amiga!" Thanks for being so nice. The food is warm and the drinks are ice cold. Parking lot and handicapped parking is available. Yeah, there may be homeless and drunk people hanging around sometimes but I try to be kind and help out if I can. They are usually really nice, haven't had any problems. Hey, it's DC and there's a liquor store next door. Yeah, the drunks are going to hang out there and drink. Wish I could tell them about recovery. I know, this is a review for McDonald's, but I guess if you freak out around homeless people and drunks, maybe not the place for you. I'm just used to it from growing up here. It is what it is. What is going on in the morning here? I had two cars ahead of me in the drive thru... yet I sat for a full 10-15 minutes. This has happened three times in the past two weeks. I now have to switch to a different location as I time my morning commute to arrive at work on time. Otherwise the food is fine. And they look busy inside. Second bad experience at this one. First time, I ordered a side salad, hotcakes and a chicken sandwich, had to wait while the manager who took my order took a phone call, and she have me the dressing but no salad! Had to wait again for the male manager to get it for me, who acted like I was bothering him. I eat out...a lot. And as such, I have my share of bad experiences. So I can understand this place pulling a 1-star rating. But based on my experience last night, I have to say that for the situation, things are hopefully improving for the better. Most people would probably agree it's reasonable to judge a location in the context of where it is....and a McDonalds in the not-so-bougie NorthEast isn't going to be gleaming and fancy. But I did find the staff competent, quick to serve, and making a solid effort. Surprisingly, I observed staff adhering to health standards and McDonalds standards much better than any of the local Maryland locations. Unlike the numerous Maryland locations I've visited (North Bethesda, Rockville, Aspen Hill, Glenmont), the staff here: - Didn't touch my food with their bare hands - Didn't touch the inside of my food containers with their bare hands, following McDonald's food prep procedures - Actually had food in stock (I've been told numerous times by the above locations that one item or another wasn't available) - Provided a regular size water cup (not the child-sized cup, and didn't charge like some locations) The manager, who I believe was named Maya (definitely could have the name incorrect), clearly knew what she was doing and was leading her shift. I don't make McDonald's a regular stop, and this one just happened to be convenient, but my hopes are this place is on the up-and-up. read more

This McDonalds restaurant would be okay if they could ever get the order right. There is always something wrong - and it's not just sauce - they often make the wrong sandwiches or they forget to include sandwiches. This wouldn't be so bad if it was an in-store order, but whenever my wife goes through the drive-through window, the package she delivers home is always wrong. Yesterday, she was honked at by people behind her because she refused to move until the food was right and of course it was wrong - TWICE! It's usually hyperbole when people say 'They never get anything right', but trust me, with this McDonalds, I have never once had food from them that was right first time. I have often experienced poor customer service and being overcharged at the drive in window. In addition, the employees at the second window are usually hispanic and cannot understand English or choose not to. The manger working today at 11:00 am hispanic woman, had difficulty understanding what a meal includes. When I go to Mcdonalds my expectations are usually already very low. I go in with a lot of patience and emphasize for the lack of education. The old chicken nuggets we received were expected and we were not surprised. What caught my attention was the cashier taking me and my 10year old sons order while simultaneously grabbing his gentials. Again i was not surprised. What bothered me most was the infomercial on the tv about "old cracked crepe skin". I asked for the channel to be changed and the manager just didnt care because she never came to change it. I gave them 4 out of 5 as they didn't have a kids area and the drink station could use to be cleaned up. Horrible experience! The manager herself which was a short stubby Mexican lady, gave us the biggest attitude. She literally walked up to the window with the rudest look on her face. We had come last night and they didn't give us our chicken nuggets so we called and they put our name in the book. Well we couldn't find our receipt. And although we couldn't find our receipt, the guy we had talked to the night before didn't tell us we needed it. I wish I had recorded how rude she was because it was unbelievable.
