Worst McDonalds I've ever been to. Service was horrible and so was the food. They couldn't even get my order right. Do NOT go here.

We waited in line for a very long time only to wait even longer at the speaker, then she took our order (a large die coke) we payed for it and we get up to the window only to be told they don't have coke products. The lady offered us different drinks in replacement which I told her no and she proceeded to give us a fry instead and it was a small fry half full. Absolutely trash service. read more

The food was fresh and correct but the customer service was lacking. At the order menu I was not asked if I had a code. I was asked for my order. Was told to pull up. No thank you. No total. I pull around the building. Three cars in front of me. After a couple of minutes, the first car pulls away and I reach the window. Get told my total, finally. I pay. He is nice in person. The next person in line leaves after a couple more minutes then the car in front of me reaches the window for order pick up. They wait. Finally get a bag of food but then they have to wait on their drink. And then they must not have gotten a straw because they hand one out the window a few seconds later. I get to the pick up window. The person says nothing, just hands me my bag with one hand as he is turning away from me. Before I have even finished saying thank you, his back is to me. No more interaction. If you go in the morning, they are a well oiled machine of excellent customer service whatever time they open late. If you drive up and the Golden Arches light is off and the traffic cones are up, don't be sad, they are just short handed. Don't bother going in the evening. That crew has no customer service skills. I called as I was given a caramel frappe and asked the person who answered the phone to ask his people to read (if the could read) which frappe is being ordered because I detest caramel and mine was a caramel one. He offered for me to come back and he would get me a new one the right flavor, but I was already home! He never said to come back for a replacement. Just know that the morning crew is amazing if they show up. Forget the dinner crew. read more

This used to be one of the best Mickey D's I've ever been to, when it was independently owned. Now it's corporately owned and it has become one of the worst. The manager acts like I'm bothering her when I order something on the app. She is clearly unhappy. The orders are frequently wrong and the frappe machine is ALWAYS "being cleaned." Why is it on the menu in the app? I go there about 5 or 6 times a week. And the manager is still always rude, and they act like they've never seen me before. At the other WJ places I go, they know who I am, and treat me like a person. But at this place everyone is always pissed off and rude, especially the manager. She glares at me in the drive through, because I've been frustrated by the fact that 3 out of 5 times I order a frappe on the app, the machine is down for some reason, and I only order them during breakfast until early dinner. Why don't they clean the machine at night? They offer me a crappy milkshake or iced coffee, because they can't refund me cash or the points I've used on the app. This place is useless, and it's a real shame because it's one of only 3 fast food option in West Jefferson. I have stopped going there very often. I was a daily customer, but they are so "un-helpful" and impersonal. If I could I would never go there again. It sucks. read more

Stopped in here tonight for coffee and a milkshake. The line was wrapped around the building but it moved swiftly. They didn't have any fresh coffee so we pulled around front and waited for them to bring it out to us. It was fresh, hot and delicious. I also had a sweet treat of a strawberry shake. It was great! Very friendly staff. My only complaint here is that both the lobby and dining room were closed leaving the drive through the only option. read more

Of course this is McDonalds so obviously you know what you are going to get. But I like this McDonald's. It is the best or one of the best I've been to. I have went to this McDonalds a lot over the 16 years I've lived in Ashe County and they are very consistent. Good service and food is hot and fresh. Fries are always hot and good. I'm from Kansas City, but I visit this McDonald's 1-2x/year. They are head and shoulders above most that I have visited anywhere. The staff is welcoming, efficient, and friendly. Even at their busiest, the move the line through in good time, and orders are accurate. I had the privilege of meeting one of the owners today. She was at the door, hosting and directing inside traffic. These are clearly people who love what they do and love people; I noticed they are also strong supporters of the surrounding community. I came up to West Jefferson to see my mother's gravesite and goto Church Sunday morning and parked at the mcdonalds to sleep in my car overnight at a safe place. I arrived at 1am and was parked for about 2 minutes before the Mcdonalds manager hand signaled me through the windows to leave. I Immediately left and drove over to another safe parking lot at the Ingles next door. The Mcdonalds manager got into her own personal vehicle and followed me to where i was parked and proceeded to question me and demand that i leave saying Ingles wouldnt allow me to park there. I asked if she worked for ingles and she said im not going to argue with you ill call the police. I said okay. The police came and demanded my ID against my constitutional rights as there was no crime being committed and he WOULD NOT articulate a crime that was being committed or about to be committed. I left and parked somewhere else. This McDonalds manager called the police because i wouldnt do what she told me to do after harrassing me and following me in her own personal SUV vehicle. What a way to be welcomed into West Jefferson to visit your moms grave and goto church. Thanks McDonalds. read more

Standard McDonalds stuff. Can get crowded in the morning but service was fast and efficient.

I love the fish sandwiches which is why I gave them 1 star. It was good. But the wait & lack of teamwork & customer service skills are extremely bad. Be careful if you are turning off main hwy. Very dangerous. Always, always a backup of cars for drive through. Not the place to go if you are in a hurry. By far the worst McDonalds we have ever been to. read more
