I like that this chain has graphic t-shirts and larger shoe sizes. Torrid accommodates curvy women, which I appreciate. I don't exactly fit the demographic perfectly, but I can manage to wear clothing on the smaller side of the sizing scale. It's cool. I do like options. This store was clean and bright. There were deals everywhere. The best deals were in the back left of the store. I managed to find a pair of cargo pants that were regularly $109, but were reduced to $30. They looked like they would fit me. I wasn't sure because I had never bought pants here. I needed to find a fitting room. I headed to the checkout area and asked a female staffer if I could try them on. She was friendly, said yes, and led me to a fitting room by unlocking the door. These pants fit perfectly. The length and inseam were great. I could breathe in them. Yay! I looked around and liked a cardigan. It was lightweight, but Winnipeg was going through a heatwave outside that I couldn't look at any clothing for Fall. I found the graphic t-shirts. I liked the Care Bears one. Nothing truly screamed at me. It probably means that I'm content with my wardrobe. I found my sneakers that I had bought almost a year ago. They are so comfortable. It was one of my favourite purchases from this chain. I headed to the checkout area. It took a while for the nice woman to return. She was helping another person unlock a fitting room. I wasn't in a rush. It allowed me to look at the earring sets. I love them. They are comfortable and the designs are cute. I recommend signing up for Torrid rewards. I got an additional $10 off my purchase when I was here. My pair of cargo pants were $20 after all the discounts. Yay! The best way for the staffer to find your rewards account is to provide your phone number. Easy peasy! I paid with a credit card. I tapped and I was done. She put my item in a paper bag with handles. I thanked her and happily left with my purchase. I'm pleased with my new cargo pants and the price that I paid for them. I loved shopping here. I hope to return the next time I'm at the outlet. A young male employee assisted him with the photos. We specifically requested 2 x 2 inch photos, but the photos we were initially given were a different size, which meant that I had to return to the store to have them corrected. While I was there, I also asked whether the employee could stamp and date the back of the photographs to indicate when they were taken. This is important for my application because the Philippine government requires recent photographs, and I will be submitting the documents to the appropriate office in Toronto. I explained that I wanted the date on the photos as proof of when they were taken. The employee repeatedly insisted that Henry's only stamps and dates photographs for Canadian passport photos and would not do so for my Philippine application. I spoke with another staff member about the same concern, but the young employee continued insisting that the Philippines would accept the photographs without the date stamp. I found this response particularly inappropriate because he is not in a position to determine the requirements of the Philippine government or my specific application, nor should I have to rely on an employee's assumption when I am responsible for submitting the correct documents and paying the application fees. What concerns me even more is that I have had passport photos taken at Don's Photo and Shoppers Drug Mart, and both were willing to stamp and date the back of my photographs. Henry's appears to be the only place where I have encountered a policy or refusal to do this specifically because the photos were for a non-Canadian passport/citizenship application. I found the interaction extremely frustrating and, frankly, felt that I was being treated differently because my application was for the Philippines rather than Canada. Whether this was intentional or not, the way the situation was handled made me feel that my request was being dismissed because it involved a Filipino/foreign government application. I believe this raises a serious concern about inconsistent treatment and potentially discriminatory service. I understand that Henry's may have specific policies regarding passport photographs. However, if there is a policy that employees may only stamp Canadian passport photographs, I would appreciate a clear explanation of why this policy exists and why it applies to other government passport/citizenship photographs, particularly when other photo service providers routinely provide the date and stamp when requested. I would also like management to review how this employee handled the situation. Instead of simply insisting that "the Philippines will accept it," the appropriate response would have been to explain the store's policy and allow the customer to make an informed decision, rather than dismissing the requirements of another country. I am requesting that Henry's Camera: 1. Review this incident with the employees involved. 2.
