The ring holds deep personal meaning it contains both my late father's and my birthstone, and we spent a large amount of money on it, including insurance. Before we even sent it in, the quality was already questionable most of the stones had fallen out far too quickly, which is not acceptable for a ring of that price and significance. Since then, we've been stuck waiting without updates or proper communication. On top of that, we are now being told that because the name on the order is different, I cannot pick it up without ID. A company that has been around for so long should not treat its customers this way. I am incredibly frustrated and hurt by this entire experience. I will never return to Ben Moss, and I strongly encourage others to look elsewhere for jewellery especially when it carries emotional or family value. This should never have happened.

The last time I was at this store was back in July 2016. I was walking around the mall and went in to browse. Ben Moss is found mostly in western Canada. I only knew about it when I lived in Winnipeg. There used to be more stores, but only two remain: this one and one at Kildonan Place. A few years ago, I bought a pair of aquamarine earrings in sterling silver. I bought them online, as the sales price was decent. Shipping was free. I got the earrings and loved them. The downside was that the site at that time didn't point out what type of earring backings were used. They were French hooks, which are not my favourite. First, the end part of the hook jabs into me when I wear it. I find that annoying. Second, the cheap little plastic stopper at the back is a pain to take on and off. Whoever designed the French hook should be shot. I like leverbacks the best, followed by sleepers and studs. I try not to buy earrings with French hooks. Anyway, during this pandemic, I ordered a number of leverbacks and have decided to convert all my French hook earrings. This pair from Ben Moss was my second that I had converted. They turned out nicely. Bye bye, nasty French hooks! This store is currently closed, as is the mall. However, there are some great sales happening online. I found a pair of earrings online that are 67% off. Sadly, they are French hooks, but I know that I can now convert them to leverbacks. I recommend checking out the bracelets, watches, rings, and more online. Some items are exclusively available online, but not at Ben Moss stores. (140)

Most of the pieces are sterling silver or 18K gold and there are pieces that have pearls and other gemstones. But they definitely lean more towards simply designed sterling silver earrings, necklaces and rings. They even do custom work as my friend received a pretty custom charm necklace from her husband. Service is decent - can range from aloof to really nice depending on the sales person. And you can usually find the designer herself in the store.

I do a lot of shipping for my side business as well and those types of issues take time and are sometimes complex.
