That is not snow on the ground. That is the right side of the 10th fairway at McDowell Mountain. Wish they cleaned up the range balls in that area once in a while. The lady who often works the counter in the pro shop is not remotely friendly. The rangers are pleasant and so is the wait staff. I don't think this course is worth $135 on may 4th when much better courses cost much less.

NEW dining venue at McDowell Mountain Golf Club "Rossa Kitchen & Patio" Rossa Kitchen has replaced Mesquite Grill as the dining venue. They have added a Wood-Fired Pizza Oven, new menu items, and added new staff. Today I enjoyed a post golf round lunch, I tried the Flamed-Grilled Burger, it was perfectly prepared and presented. In the past I have enjoyed the Club Wrap, and other breakfast items. As always, the service was attentive and friendly from Cheri. Note: the inside dining area/bar atmosphere is casual, comfortable, and great for conversation. There are a couple of large screen TV's for watching golf and other sporting events. The outside patio has spacious seating areas with views of the practice facility and the Phoenix/Scottsdale Valley. There are two fireplaces, portable heaters, and two large screen TV's for outdoor dining. Whether you are looking for a pre/post round meal or there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Rossa Kitchen & Patio will not disappoint

Okay so what did I really like? I really like that it was a very challenging and narrow. You want to keep it on the fairway. Keeping it on the fairway was very challenging, but the layout was really nice it was like an obstacle course. So it was kind of like an obstacle course and narrow. It's a long course but not sure what the total yardage was. My friends said it was Expensive: "That's probably the most I've ever spent on a course. Probably because the condition of green was so good. The most expensive game that I played was probably 100 hundred something and that was at half Moon Bay, CA." The greens are super fast - like ice. It was challenging, but once you understand the stint meter/speed, it's good. About the practice areas: the chipping area was okay- a small little section, but representative of the course ahead. The range was adequate, but not as nicely maintained as their course. The bar was really nice! The staff is super friendly, worked fast, and were everywhere. My buddy summed it up well, "if it were cheaper, I'd play there more."

Course was in great condition. Greens were a little slow after a fast putting green... good service by attendants. Driving range uses mats, which I hate, but that's the deal in lots of places. Paired with a smoker which was a bit of a bummer.

Couple of friends and I played this past week. Course is in great shape, and service was on the spot. The pace was a little slow as expected since all the snowbirds are in town. The only problem this course is experiencing right now, is the lack of etiquette from other golfers who refuse to repair ball marks and divots. If everyone stops acting like they are to entitled to repair the damage they cause. Thus the reason why some of our courses are having issues at times. Other then that, we had a wonderful time and hope to come back again.

Sweet and spicy pepperoni is amazing!

Someone stole my 8 iron from my bag while I was getting balls for the driving range with the clubs bag outside the shop. So be careful.

With the cooling fans on throughout, it's not too bad. Latest trip was for my son and friends to celebrate his birthday and it was pretty cool to watch them hit after sunset towards Talking Stick with the changing billboard message on showing on the hotel. The Summer pass is definitely worth it for them as it gives them some options and mixes up the days for them to enjoy. Basic pass is $180 and includes 5 others to join, and for another $20 you can add the feature to make reservations online. It pays for itself after 2 or 3 times, and it breaks up the days for the Teenagers and adults.

We were greeted by our serving staff who were extremely attentive to our party and our needs. They were busy, but didn't make us feel like we were bothering them whenever we needed something. The opportunity to hit a few golf balls and enjoy the ambiance in the background was awesome. We spent a few hours there to be able to do this and it was the perfect amount of time. The restaurant was clean and had few people in it as it was a Monday. Our catering was the fajitas and they were delicious. They definitely had a kick to them, which I enjoyed. I ordered a margarita - which was a little watered down, but I also feel like I'm to blame because I didn't drink it fast enough. Overall a really good venue for a company event or just a night out with your friends!

Ed was great getting us acquainted with the bikes throttle, gears, and breaks (in the expansive back parking lot). I would say that the ones with the rear rack outfitted with canvas saddle bags are a great option for hauling sunscreen, purse, snacks and maybe a speaker, however they can be heavier for people with limited upper body strength. The bikes were very clean and in immaculate condition. We set our sights on biking around the trails in McDowell Mountain Golf Course (Great patio for lunch), stopped at a cute coffee shop at Thompson and 105. Ventured the loop from Thompson 105 along Bell to the Vig-McDowell Mountain. So many great trails that take you under the major streets and keep you acquainted with nature. We saw a roadrunner and a snake on our adventure. We did 4 hours; pricing was great. Absolutely the best way to spend a glorious AZ spring day. We have this one on repeat.

My mom revived an email advertised that they were doing a St. Patrick's Day dinner special. So my mom made a reservation! Our waitress was Rebecca and she was fabulous! As for the vibe of the country club the dining room was a little dated but the atmosphere was full of life and laughter! Everyone was having a great time. For the food: my parents, sister, and boyfriend all got the specials! We have the potato leek soup which was creamy and seasoned just right, the Shepard's pie was so flavorful and rich, and then the fish and chips had a golden batter on them that was light and fluffy. Dinner was simply AMAZING!!! The only complaint we all agreed on was that the coleslaw did not have enough dressing. Then for dessert we ordered the donuts which we all were over the moon about!
