He took the time to locate the leak (widespread corrosion in the evaporator coil) which was unrepairable. He then gave me options including a custom fab on a new R-22 coil or replacement with a new unit. His quote was incredibly competitive for the new unit, and putting in a new evaporator just didn't make sense. While he was here, I asked him to have a look at a Goodman unit (3.5 ton - 2nd zone) that I bought on-line and installed with help from a family friend that's an ac tech. My friend and I got the unit installed, but couldn't figure out a control system problem. Called another local firm and they spent a day trying to figure out why it wouldn't run, charged me $600 and left with it not working. Corey took less than 10 minutes to discover a dip switch that was not configured properly for the emergency heat elements in service and had me up and going in no time. Hard working, smart, shows up when he says he'll be there and affordable. Corey doesn't object to working on your stuff no matter where you purchased it. Being that he was very knowledgeable, he had the issue resolved in record time. He then walks in my house and hands me a bill for over $400. The next, very honest guy I obtained, helped me make sense of this. This second guy had to discard about 8 lb.s of pressure. He stated that my unit would eventually break. Not to mention that my unit was not cooling due to the overwhelming about of pressure. It is my soul belief that the first guy knew this, in hopes that my unit would break, so that he could come again latter and rip me off some more. Do not use this guy! He is absolutely, dishonest!
