After a long week, I decided to stop and try this place... first of all, they had a live band on a Sunday , and oh boy, what a treat, service was good, the environment was chill and relaxed.. I would 100% recommend it..

Looking for a place to chill... this is it! I'm from New Orleans and I know bars! This place has a great atmosphere. Friendly bar tenders who know the town and have fabulous suggestions on where to eat and shop! Huge selection of flavored Vodkas and the BEST Bloody Mary! They have a pretty good night life ...live bands and DJ's! Just ask to see what's playing. We had such a good experience that we came back!

This used to be a fun bar, but the overzealous doorman and poor management make it an unpleasant, stressful experience. A place to avoid.

Having visited the Gold country off and on my entire life, I am kind of used to these neat old buildings that dot The Golden Necklace Highway of 49. But this one was unique. It was multi-leveled though not necessarily two stories. If you've ever been to Nevada City you understand that it's actually fairly steep in its terrain so nothing can be completely flat. So whoever built this back in the day utilized to the natural geography in a really cool way. Inside there is a bar in one area, two separate lower level rooms with completely different feels to each of them. And then of course as you come in there is foyer like gathering area. The market itself was awesome and I'll review that separately. I wasn't able to utilize the bar as there was a long line the entire time and only one or two servers so that was a bit of a disappointment. Most of the food was prepackaged again because of the type of event this was. I am not sure how food would be done here for other events. In terms of facilities the bathrooms were well kept in clean, the whole venue seemed to be well taken care of, the small exhibits that were around were in good condition, and everything seemed to be functioning properly. The lighting is a little dim which was made more apparent given the day was a dreary fall afternoon with lots of cloud cover and rain. So it did make looking at some of the items at the market a little more difficult. I did end up using my cell phone flashlight to get a better look at some items. But overall this is a great place! I love the feel of it and I could see lots of events being very cool here. I think a wedding would be super fun though It might be difficult for those who have accessibility needs. That's the last part I want to add to this, accessibility parking. There's like hardly any. In fact parking in general in this entire area is extremely difficult. The parking lot's not very big and as I mentioned earlier this is a multi-level space. So it's not the most accessible to those who have mobility needs. Granted it was built before ADA and I believe it's historical so it would be very difficult to make some of the adjustments to make it more accessible. But something, anything, needs to be done about the parking.

After our table mates were served we sat for almost 45 minutes before we were notified they lost our order AND the special we order had sold out. Yet, even after they told us they were out of chicken they continued to serve the special to the table next to us. After we selected something else from the menu another 20 minutes passed before we were served. The CA Cobb salad was about as big as a side plate and hardly any chicken and the hamburger was overcooked and WAY over seasoned. 2 hours from walking in the door to getting served. They tried to make amends by comping our meal..I understand restaurants can run out of food but when you "run out" you serve the people who put their order in 30 minutes before the latecomers are served. The event was good but there is EXTREMELY limited parking. The interior was hot as it didn't seem like the AC was working at first. Bottom line- it's nice to support small businesses but this one needs some serious schooling in restaurant management.

This isnt about Pitbull and Lil Jon, who were fantastic , but about the venue…read more I have been coming here for years as I do love me some good live music. Arrival: The venue is located avout 3/4 of a mile down from the Hard Rock Hotel/Casino nestled in between Hwy 70 and Hwy 65, getting into the venue parking is relatively smooth depending on your arrival time. Obviously the closer you arrive to start of showtime, the more traffic, thus slower entrytime. I arrived just over 90 minutes early as I wanted to be sure to have butts in seat for Lil Jon. I had advanced paid for general parking(new this year as in past GP was included with admission) I was filtered and directed through to an exterior lot (unpaved) and smoothly directed to a spot by one of the many parking attendants about. After parking, and I cant stress enough, i took a pic of the closest lot sign so i knew my location, My party (wife and children(all. 20+ age) walked towards the venue and through security to enter. Again, early, so made it through security and ticket gate smoothly (efficient lines for security broken into those with bags and those without) took a quick pic(security used my camera for me) then scanned tickets for entry. Given the artists playing, it was a party atmosphere like a ginormous club, Drinks, $$$$$$, you want em, they have em, but you are going to pay. Im too old to plop on the grass so I spent a few extra to be in a seat, my kids (some added late) were up on the lawn View from seat is great. Its a fun venue for a show. Staff, everyone from security, parking, tickets, vendors were friendly, helpful ,overall great. So why the 3 stars,.... It was obvious once the show started that they had a lack of staffing for a sold out show The normal ushers to check your tickets were nowhere to be seen in the walkway between the lawn area and 200 sections, not once in the couple trips from my seat in between Opener and Headliner did I see an usher in this area, let alone asked to verify my ticket, therefore I can only assume any adventurous person from the Lawn could easily have slipped down to the seats. Restrooms, there are two brick & mortar restrooms on the concourse areas on either side fom the entry, and then 2 large banks of porta pottys on either side just down steps from the lawn area, but from appearance(lack of staffing ?) On the side outside the 211 section appeared full bank open, long long lines, outside the 201 section, this bank looked like only had 2 portas open, and a whole larger bank was behind a fence not in use. Show was great, sound, comfort and vendors walking avout selling drinks or snacks. After the show, just settle in, we walked back to our vehicle, but the plethora of parking attendants from entry seemed to be maybe 1/2, or just stationed elsewhere as lines to get out were slow or bot moving at all. Knowing this going in, I settled in for the wait and amused myself watching the many people who did NOT note their parking area when arriving wander about clueless to the location of their vehicle. Suggestions to improve leaving, they need at least one or two more exits, and if they have them, I didnt see, but some lit portas out in the outer parking if we are going to have these waits.

I bought tickets for my husband as a 2019 Christmas gift, for the 2020 show. Then Covid hit and they postponed the 2020 show, as did everyone else, and I completely understood. We were so excited for the rescheduled festival in 2021. Then they "postponed" that show too, even though by that point everything had re-opened and all the other festivals and shows were on. I don't know about you, but I've never heard of a 2-year "postponement" and wish we could just call it what it is. Regardless, we planned to finally attend in 2022. And then I found out my brother picked the same weekend to get married, on the east coast. He wasn't even engaged at the time the original event was scheduled to have happened, so I had no way of knowing about this conflict 2 years down the road, and of course the *very* small window to receive a refund had already passed. I am not sure how HSMF got away with offering such a narrow window for 2020 refunds, and so early on (more than a year before the rescheduled show), but they offered zero help or support when I reached out to them about this issue. They informed me I would have to join their Facebook group to sell my tickets since they wouldn't refund me themselves. I joined the group, posted the tickets, and my post was removed so it was not a feasible means of resale. Then I got an email that HSMF was soon to be selling tickets for 2022, so I once again reached out to them and asked very kindly if they could please accept a return on my tickets due to the unprecedented TWO YEAR postponement, a family wedding that I cannot miss, and the fact that they'd be selling these tickets later the same week anyway- why not sell mine too?! But nobody even had the decency to respond to me. It takes a special kind of *insert favorite word for a mean person* to take over $600 from someone during a pandemic, "postpone" the event for two YEARS, not make an exception for such extenuating circumstances, and not even have the decency to reply. Just pocketing the money of music fans without offering any type of genuine humane support or understanding. Needless to say, going forward I will not be supporting a festival that operates in such a way. We've been to music festivals all over the country and never had a negative experience, so there's plenty of good music and festivals out there where people are treated right. Buyer beware!

My friend Jim co-founded this festival many, many moons ago, when I was a youngster. I used to help…read moreout backstage, once carrying two of Steve Kimock's legendary guitars off stage after an epic performance in somewhat cold weather. I remember Steve saying, "It's like playing chickens out there." At the time that made perfect sense. If memory serves, this was the first time a lot of us tried Sierra Nevada beer (back then a sibling on the emerging craft beer scene) and the entire experience was warm and friendly. I never made it back between the early 90s until this year. I am so happy I decided to finally return. The festival has changed locations (a couple of times since) and become a lot bigger and organized. There are scores of bands, too many to see as four or five are playing at once on the different stages, but it is easy enough to walk around and catch a few songs of each. If it's hot, there is a swimming pool $8, or so. And the camping is fun. Pulling in at the beginning can be a bit stressful in sorting out your space, but once the dust settles, it's all dandy. Folks say this is a music festival for musicians, and I agree. But of course all are welcome. I hope to return again.
