I haven't attended a music festival since 1997, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. I went to Country Jam USA, 4 summers in a row. Now, I wanted to attend the Outlaw Music Festival to see some legends. I wasn't disappointed ! We got good seats. It was a splurge. We also pre-purchased parking ticket, good thing! Parking was easy but traffic exiting, was rough. Took over an hour. But that's too be expected. I let it slide because that's how festivals are. Location is not desirable. Hard to find, but this way neighbors can't complain about music being too loud. The food and beverage options reminded me of a state fair, which is good. Artist merch and everything was easy to find. I did like how vendors set up. Impressive for a music venue. Good quality for an amphitheater. Good size and sound. It would be nice to have a little more shade, but understandable. Bathrooms are okay. They need more cleaning attention, but so thankful there were so many stalls! My favorite part was seeing they sell food for after the show! Not many venues offer that. Overall, for an outdoor venue, they are very good!

Does the traffic to get here suck? Yes Does the parking suck? Yes Does the line to get in suck? Yes Does the line to the bathrooms ( only ONE?!) Suck? Yes Does getting out of the parking lot into a jammed traffic backup suck? YES But... just know this and be patient and prepared and go and enjoy the AMAZING sound this venue puts out. I had the BEST time I had seats in section 206 row 9 directly in the middle. We left about 1.5 hours prior to the show from Thunder Valley Casino, and instead of a usual 24 minute ETA it DID take about an hour to get there. Being the first time I've been to this venue it was a bit confusing on where to go for general parking but once you hit a certain spot in the line there are people directing traffic. The line to get in was so so so long but moved decently fast. Bring a small 6x9 purse or a clear bag only. I do have to say we came in late summer so it wasn't scorching hot it was definitely warm and then cooled off when sun went down, probably wouldn't enjoy a show in hotter weather as much. We had a little time to get concessions and I got liquid death water 8$ and French fries 8$. The fries were surprisingly yummy! (I'm on a diet limitation and this is all I could have) but they have pizza, burgers, cocktails, etc. the line wasn't terrible at all. The line to the bathroom in between bands though?!?! Woahhhhh it literally wrapped around like the whole concession area, but alas it moved fairly quickly. But really wild they have one bathroom area I guess there's porta potty's but no thanks. As for the show... it was incredible. The sound was some of the best I've heard in a venue. I think it's the amphitheater that helps that so sound Carries instead of bounces off itself. F1nger11, 3 doors down, and Creed all rocked out so hard. It was so amazing! Other than other annoying concertgoers that would literally just YELLLLLL in the middle of songs, it was awesome. Would absolutely come back even with all the frustrations of getting there!

First time seeing a show there and we were nervous about the traffic and security lines after seeing bad reviews here. We got to the Doobie Brothers concert an hour and a half early and had no problem with getting parked. We tailgated for a while then breezed in. Great show, which looked nearly sold out. Leaving was just as easy with plenty of staff directing traffic. Only cons, they have a large area of porta-potties on the side of the amphitheater farthest from the entrance. There is no lighting in that area...you definitely need your phone light, but it was quick, and without waiting. And drink prices are high! Be prepared to pay for your buzz!

Went to Toyota Amphitheater for the first time to see Willie Nelson at the Outlaw Festival. Loved the layout of the venue--just not the way it's run. We got there 2 hours early and had no issues with traffic or VIP parking... mostly because they didn't even check for a VIP pass. I'm sure everyone was suddenly "VIP" that day. Brought a stadium seat clearly allowed per their own website ("soft seating pads without a hard frame are allowed"), only to be told by security I couldn't bring it in. After 45 mins in line, I was faced with the classic "toss it or hike back to your car" ultimatum. Spoiler alert: I handed it off to someone already through security. If they get to ignore the rules, so do I. Ticket scanning was another masterclass in inefficiency: 20 minutes to process a dozen people. But hey, once inside, food and drink lines were quick, and the venue was clean with a soft, dirt-free lawn. Chair rentals were available, which might explain the no-outside-chair nonsense. Cute how they make money by denying things they say are allowed. On the plus side, all chairs were low to the ground, so at least no one's view was blocked. Yay? The venue's smaller than expected (18,500 capacity). Great views from the lawn, and the sun was mercifully behind us from 4pm on. Handicap seating on the lawn was free and staff there were kind and helpful. Now, the popcorn scam: My mom got suckered into buying the refillable tub. We went back for a refill and surprise! No popcorn. Anywhere. After 30 minutes in line, we got told to go across the venue for more--because sure, I trust that you, worker #12 of 15 standing around doing nothing, know for a fact there's popcorn on the other side. Leaving the venue? An Olympic-level test of patience. One hour minimum to exit, even if you leave early. Two-lane funnel of doom. Concert ended at 10:40, we got on the road after midnight. Bring snacks, but don't test the hotdogs being sold on the way out-- pretty sure my boyfriend had his first taste of speed bump sausage. Final tips: VIP & handicap parking = same lot. Only ~20 handicap spots. Arrive early or be prepared to walk a mile. Bag policy is aggressively enforced. Read it carefully. Then read it again. Then ignore it, and stuff everything down your pants because security will probably make up their own rules anyway.

Brooks & Dunn performed on my most recent visit to the Toyota Amphitheater. I have not been back here in years due to the worst mosquito attack I have ever had. However, this time, I was willing to come prepared and be doused in bug spray in order to enjoy my show. As we arrived, we parked in an orderly fashion. Waited in the long lines, we got checked in, then searched, and began the walk to our seats. Everyone around was really excited. When the show started, it was still day light out. There were your typical gatherings of tiny bug nests. As the darkness started to fall, the show got more amazing, and I don't think I got one bite (thanks to bug spray). The crowd around me was just as excited as they performed our favorite songs. The Brooks & Dunn could not have put on a better show. It's has always been a dream of mine to see them live in concert. They sounded amazing and strong, and they were better than I could have even imagined. As we left the parking lot, I ended up stuck in traffic longer than we really should've been. It was completely unorganized. Trucks were stopped waiting to pull into the main line out while more than 20 vehicles passed, not allowing him in. They left it up to people driving their cars to decide who was allowed to cut in... and there were a lot of honking cars and people screaming people. Honestly, with the way we got out... it should've been easy, but we were cut off so many times, Overall, I had a much better experience this time at the Toyota Amphitheater... minus the parking.

First timer to this venue, watched NKOTB/Paula Abdul/DJ Jazzy Jeff for their Magic Summer tour. Reading the previous reviews regarding the parking lot situation, guess we got a lucky since we arrived early. We paid for premium parking, but nobody even checked our parking pass and waved us right through. Got in line to get in and that was a breeze (the only breeze up there since it was 104+ degrees!). The staff all seemed very nice and helpful if we had any questions. Didn't purchase any concessions since we brought our own reusable bottles & filled them using the water filling stations. I overheard people saying that leaving after the concert could take 1+ hrs to get out so we decided to head out about 10 min before the concert ended. That gave us time to check out the merchandise tables with no lines. Not sure I'd go to another summer concert out there in the heat though...

I figured I may as well review this finally, as I just wrote up a venue review of the Hard Rock nextdoor. It's really a 3.5 but I am rounding to 4 for the memories. Important: Parking and traffic here royally sucks @$$. Go potty before you leave. My friend and I completely missed Barenaked Ladies open (okay we heard the last song as we laid out our blanket on the grass) for Hootie several years ago, because two hours wasn't enough time to get here on that particularly crappy night. Be prepared for this kind of nightmare if you want to come here. Consider carpool or rideshare. If you pay for premier parking that helps with the getting in, but not with the getting out. I hate it so much. It's also brutally hot outside in summer, until the sun sets. Sunsets here can be very pretty. Basically, I come here when I REALLY want to see someone play, or when invited by friends who want to carpool. Or both. There IS more good than bad, I feel like. I have always sat on the grass and had a good time, first of all. They let you bring in blankets. There are lowback chairs for rental. Someone is going to stand up and block your view, but then the person writing this review is one of those Short People At Concerts so, yeah. Choose wisely. Having something to mark your territory with is wise for when all the late people come in looking for spots. Acoustics are great, kind of a Duh. Every show I've been to here since I went to see Peter Frampton with my fam the year it opened has sounded phenomenal. Ampitheatres generally speaking are such a perfect ambiance for live music. In July 2023, I "dragged" DO (only second time I've dragged him to see them haha) to see one of my favorite bands from my angsty youth, Breaking Benjamin, touring with Disturbed (second time I've seen them together, fifth all time for BB, putting this here to refer back to when my memory declines further.). Opening for them was Jinjer, this awesome metalcore band that Michelangelo S. got me into. (You should talk to him about music and Star Wars, he is a man of many interests.) Great show. The crowd was good vibes too. We talked to this girl sitting in front of us with her mom for awhile about different metal adjacent bands we enjoy. They do have a lot to choose from as far as food, snacks, and drinkies both alcoholic and otherwise. You pass through all of these temptations on the way to your seats. I like Trejo's tacos. The selection of food vendors varies now, from what I have gathered. You may not see the same places each time. Because of this I don't want to say they have anything special for vegans other than snacky stuff. Trejo's has been every time I've come, and they do have a vegan mushroom taco that is good. The main bathrooms next to the entrance are monitored by staff when it's busy, which is always an interesting experience. Someone else watching to see when stalls are open for the next user? Alright. I'll take it. I also really like the water feature play area for those unrelenting summer days here. So, yes, I do like to come here but only for an artist worth the trip, and when giving myself plenty of extra time to get here. Ticket prices remain reasonable for most people I want to see. I feel like they are putting in effort to compete with their new neighbor, so that's promising. Parking: the worst, recommend carpool, rideshare, racket premier parking pass Vegan Corner: unsure beyond the usual snacks, vendors vary. Trejo's has a mushroom vegan taco, and they've been there each time I've come recently... Gas: station at Hard Rock nextdoor is cheaper than the ones by the freeway, by far Bathroom Report: does the job, there is an additional one on the other side of the ampitheatre

I had such a great time at the Big Time Rush here at the Toyota Amphitheatre! It was an overall pleasant experience, from the parking to the actual show. Parking was free, convenient, and organized. There were even some portable restrooms in the parking lot to use before even entering the venue (very clean as well). The BTR concert was mobbed and the line to get in was long to get in but went by fast, I'd say only about a 15 minute wait to get in. FYI there are bag size limits (check online for the exact dimensions) and we saw a number of people turned away with backpacks. They also check the size of your signs. Plenty of bathrooms and drink/food stations to hit up before the show (expect concert arena prices). Overall show was a great time! A little drive from Sac but we enjoyed it so much that we bought tickets for another upcoming show!

This venue has decent acoustics, a big stage that can handle extravagant light, flame, and fog set ups and plenty of vendors. The biggest reason for the low rating is how ridiculously slow and aggravating the entrance and exit is. It starts with the drive. Wheatland is quite a ways outside of Sac. The entrance is accessed by farm roads that will host a long backup of vehicles. Entering the venue is just as problematic. There's a huge maze to get through a security check point that funnels you into the first (of many) ticket checkpoints. Now that you've made it into the concession area, you'll need to have your ticket ready to show 4 or 5 more times to get to your seat. In this particular visit, it was hot (100+) and the show started 30 minutes earlier than advertised so I was a little aggravated already. I'm sure that if I had planned for the slow entry, i could have enjoyed the first band instead of hearing them while I waited outside the venue. My tips: go an hour earlier than whatever time you planned on arriving. Make sure your electronic tickets are in your wallet because you'll need to show them over and over and over. Use the restroom on your way out because you'll be watching taillights for a long time.

The video screens are good, but the PA stacks on the sides make it hard to see the screen for those seated on the sides.

Ask the Community - Toyota Amphitheatre

    Are there plenty of UBERS?

No, there was a massive line of people waiting. Would not recommend Uber for this venue.

Do they have lawn chairs for rent?

    Yes, plenty

Can you take in a water bottle? Do you need a Covid test or proof of vaccination? Can you bring in a blanket to sit on?

Clear unopened bottle of water yes. Not colored bottles. No COVID vaccination checks. Yes definitely bring your own blanket as they only rent chairs.

Can you park an RV in the parking Lot before a concert and leave it there overnight?

Not unless you purchase a parking pass, only limited amount. No overnight.

Is the entire road in and VIP/Priority parking lot paved? Thinking about riding my motorcycle. Thank you.

Yes and there is parking just for motorcycles (very close to the main entrance). Its in a paved lot, close to where the sheriff's stage their vehicles so the security of your bike is top notch.

    How much is parking here?

Free or you can purchase vip parking, check the website for the choices.

Can you bring in water? Can you bring your own chair?

Up to one gallon in clear plastic bag. No lawn chairs can be brought in but u can rent them...

Does anyone know if there is a parking fee for Brad Paisley tomorrow, June 6, 2019? It seems *most* shows are free.

I read somewhere that AAA members can use the Fast lane for free, does anyone know if that's true?

Yes it is true. you just need to show your valid AAA card at the Fast lane with your concert ticket.

Is it worth it to buy the parking pass? Regular or VIP?

Honestly.. it all depends on you. When I go, I usually get there about 4:30-5pm. I use general parking.. get up close.. and then leave before the last song plays.. it takes me MAYBE 10 MAX minutes to get out of the lot. I would rather not pay for… Read more

Is there a metal detector before entry?

Yea - and everything brought in is checked thoroughly; i.e., backpacks, purses, chairs, etc.

Can you leave your car parked in the parking lot overnight?

    no, this is not allowed.

Is the fast lane worth it?

Not if your experience is like mine was. This place is so disorganized and just messy I will be avoiding any need to return to this venue.

    Can you park a motorhome?

    Yes

Has anyone taken Uber to and from this venue? Is there an easy place to meet an Uber when the concert is over?

I JUST USED UBER HERE YESTERDAY OMG DONT DO IT!! Cost me $58 to get there from roseville and on the way home uber charged me $300 to get home afterwards. $300 for less than 30 miles! Not to mention theres no dedicated place for them to pick you… Read more

Regarding the rv parking, can you camp out for the night after the concert?

    No overnight parking.

Can you tailgate??? Is there a cost?

Depends on the artist playing - parking is free, but generally the tailgating is no BBQ - but there's no issue if you bring the food precooked.
