You ladies made this entire wedding planning process amazing for us. I truly cannot thank you both enough! My (now husband) & I came to Bella Vista Groves after our original venue decided they weren't going to be hosting weddings any longer (go figure, right?) I was immediately drawn to Bella Vista Groves for its beautiful garden style, the gorgeous house on the property (that you can stay the weekend in, & I 100% suggest you do) but we loved Bella Vista Groves so much bcus they were completely supportive & understanding of my families needs. We have a wide arrange of disabled/wheelchair bound, to heat sensitive, to allergic to the world kind of people & Corrine & Deanna were welcoming & up for the challenge. Our day went perfect, everyone was taken great care of & throughout our night nearly every guest said "Your wedding is so beautiful, this is the most organized wedding I've ever come to." Everyone we spoke to was very very nice and respectful. We then got contacted by Dolores Licon, she is the Director of Sales at the Hilton Garden inn, she is the sweetest person in the !! This Venue is HUGE and indoors with lots of windows and really tall ceilings, you could probably fit 150 people in this venue. If you want a venue that includes all the food, a coordinator, a bridal suite at the Hilton garden inn literally in the same parking lot,all the tables,the chairs, the fabric that covers the tables and chairs, a arch for the ceremony, all the setup and cleanup all in 1 AMAZING LOW PRICE, then this is the place you need to have your event/wedding at. Dolores and Juan helped us put our whole wedding together just the way we wanted, we requested to have a Nautical theme wedding and they knew exactly what we wanted, they asked us what colors we wanted our tables and chairs and with all their AMAZING advice, they helped us plan where everything should be setup. Our wedding was AMAZING, it was such a blast, that we didn't have to worry about anything. We had about 30 people at our wedding, we wanted to have a more personal wedding with our family and friends, at first we thought that this venue was too big for our small wedding, but it was absolutely perfect!! Our wedding cost less then $4,000 for everything!! All we had to pay extra for was our DJ from DevineVisualDJ's and that was not expensive either, and we had to get a cake. Only down fall was the district manager Dolores, she came in to help the day of the reception, wearing gym clothes no make-up on and hair pulled up. She was professionally dressed on all of our other visits. Not sure why she wouldn't be on this special day. She was also kinda rushing my mom's guest when cake time came. This review is mostly on manager not staff that helped. I think she should have kept it professional all the way through.

Whether it was for sports' banquets or wedding receptions, the Poinsettia Pavilion has always made it look beautiful. Their best asset has to definitely be their view. On a clear day, the location of the pavilion allows for stunning views of the islands and killer California sunsets. The building itself is old but the salon inside is kept clean. Plenty of space to accommodate multiple big tables and set a dance floor. Plenty of parking down in front overlooking the ocean and the city of Ventura. It is mostly a non profit building so nothing super fancy but it is such a staple in Ventura.

A recent wedding in Oxnard brought us to this beautiful turn of the century mansion located on the…read moreback side of port Hueneme at NBVC - this enormous building and manicured grounds were once the family home of former California Senator Thomas R. Bard, and completed in 1912. From the formal entry foyer, to the grand bar and lounge area, the double staircase leading to the upper floors, several huge rooms downstairs complete with a dining room and banquet room that even has a stage. Along with multiple smaller parlor rooms available for both the bride and bride's maids and the groom and grooms men. There is even a gazebo outside in the back court yard for outside events, as it was for the wedding we attended. There is lots of great floor to ceiling glass windows along the inside of the mansion's interior court yard allowing natural sunlight to fill these rooms. Which makes the whole space look even larger than it already is, in this 17,000 sq. ft. plus building, that boosts of 12 bedrooms, with 7 full baths and 4 half baths. The Bard mansion is a wonderful venue for special events and for the area is a bargain by today's standard, in the greater Ventura area. This facility is also staffed. Most of the staff were very professional, though follow through on some requests were handled poorly or completely ignored. The wedding planner assigned to the function was often missing in action during important parts of the ceremony (like calling all the guests to be seated for the wedding and again for the dinner), as well at one point she disappeared only to reappear clothing changed with her husband a child in tow (the bride did not approve) and the bar tender(s) completely ignored the bride and grooms request on the open bar (ran the tab over by $300+) to close the bar tab when it hit their budget ($1200), leaving them with a $1500+ bar tab at the end of the night. All in all, this is still a wonderful building with great architecture and an awesome space to hold a special event. You may want to bring in your own staff though. Would have been 5 stars except for the staffing issues as stated above, these were both important issues to the bride and groom and they were pretty much ignored or mishandled by the staff involved. 3.5 - rounded up instead of down. 00316
