Wedding venue tour # 2 This place is located on NBVC in Port Hueneme. It is really quite beautiful mansion for being over 100 years old. Prior to this tour I've been corresponding with the events coordinator, Jessica. She was very helpful and was able to answer all of my questions. She was quick to respond to allnof my emails as well, which is awesome when your trying to plan your wedding. The wedding packages range from about $40pp to $80pp and includes only food. This leaves you to choose your own vendors for cake, photo/video, officiant, dj and floral/decor. It is open for civilian use but you must have a military "sponsor" in order to rent this venue. The cost to use the main hall of the mansion is $1000 for weekend events. The cost to book the event is $300 along with the signed contract. Cost to use the garden for ceremony is $300. Pros: - beautiful 100 year old mansion venue - low booking fee - 8 hour rental with flexible time slots. - no hidden fees/costs - 10% military discount on food - no sales tax Cons: - dead bushes behind gazebo in garden ceremony area - not totally all inclusive (packages only include food and drinks) - up to you to find other vendors for cake, DJ, officiant.. etc - far from home My fiancé and I liked this venue and is on the list of definite possible venues. But, we still have 2 other venues to tour.

My fiancé and I had our wedding here on 01/23/2016. I honestly can't say enough about the venue and staff. There was ample parking for all the guest, the area is very large, the photographers loved all the different shooting areas and the food was the bomb. The only thing you need to really make sure of is to get everyone's information way in advance so they can get onto the base. I had 2 people who never confirmed with us prior show up, and they had to get turned away. Everyone was in love with everything at the mansion. Thank you to everyone there who kept everyone happy!!

Ok, so I'm planning my first wedding here. I've been working with Jessica (the bards private wedding coordinator) and she's been perfect!!! There are absolutely no hidden fees with their packages and the wait staff is beyond wonderful. Because of my wedding is coming sooner than later (I've accepted a job in Italy) we were ale to grab a cancellation date in November. This is by far the most beautiful place that I have seen and at such an affordable price!!!!!! If you're in the VC area and are looking for the perfect vintage place...looooook noooooo further!!!!!!!

It was our wedding and my husband and I were not served first. There is no organization with the manager she is all over the place. Never has a notebook to take notes during meetings it is very concerning. She told one of my guests there was only fruit because i didnt pay for appetizers to be served before dinner. Professionalism awful going back and forth in text messages instead of being solution driven and making it right. Example she was including a "free" cake to seal the deal! She had sent my husband a text with a list of flavors. We chose them this was an event for 300 ppl so we got a tiered cake and 2 side cakes. Well one of the options she said wasn't in her list even though it was. They went back and forth and her resolution was giving us a check for $900 and expressing she was "done" . We paid you $25k you cant just be "done " extremely unprofessional. READ YOUR CONTRACT! She did not explain that the 2 million dollars worth of coverage was not included. Get your own event insurance. The phone number given was to a guy that was completely unprofessional I went through google got more days covered and paid $175 instead of the $335 from her recommendation and it was the exact same company. Bar service that they provided was absolutely terrible my ceremony started at 2 so bar should have been stocked up and ready the night before or early that morning. They rolled in at 1:30 and were not ready to serve until 2 and the beers were warm By 530 they were already running out of basics like Pacifico. Also bar was EXPENSIVE service was slow. There were so many negatives I could go on and on. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND HAVING AN EVENT HERE.

We also hired their florist who was overwhelmed, overpromised and underdelivered and needed extra help. Three Sisters was the most disappointing and frustrating vendor in every sense. Would rate 0 stars if could. Stay away. We were assured on every call, "We just want you to relax and not worry about anything on your big day. We got this." It was surprising to hear at the rehearsal that "We aren't allowed on site until noon." The bride and bridesmaids were arriving at 9am. "The photographer is coming at 11am," we said. "Oh, they're the exception." We asked the event site coordinator who said they could've been there at 9am with us. We hired Three Sisters for the primary purpose of making sure the bride's stepmother did not interfere with any of the activities. This was repeated ad nauseum on every pre-planning call and stressed repeatedly. Within minutes of her arriving (and the groom saying, "That's her.") she had already made it into the bridal suite (where there was no coordinator at any time in the day assisting with all the logistics. When asked the coordinators said, "we are overwhelmed." The rings were not present immediately before the ceremony. The groom noticed last minute. Christina shrugged. She had been told where they were in the morning and forgot. They did not exchange contact information or start a group chat with the venue coordinators when one was asked to call our coordinator and ask where they were. A bridesmaid had to run up on a golf cart to get them. There was never any coordinator around when ANY photos were being taken despite them providing all our photo pairings and shot list as asked. Many photos were missed completely. At post-ceremony photos, family members left the ceremony site. We looked at each other and realized we had coordinators to help. Christina was cleaning between chairs. The groom explained to her to arrange the next group of family members the subsequent set behind them. Like a coordinator should be doing. There was no bouquet for the toss nor a coordinator anywhere to be found. The photographer had to take flowers out of a vase on the table. The flowers were sparse and did not match the pictures of inspiration provided. The bridal bouquet was tiny and had roses despite asking and told that ranunculus was available. The groom asked for sage and was given the eucalyptus he did not want. We said "lush." The sweetheart table to be covered, and you could see our legs and if we dropped food or silverware. The five beams cost $1800 to have a single strand of thin ivy wrapped around them. It looked like a string of Xmas lights. Heather helped her florist sister all day rather than focus on events. At one point they drove by on a golf cart and asked the groom, "Have they found the missing bouquet?" That is something he needs to worry about? During the middle of our dinner walked to our table to ask, "Are you mad at me?" Heather sent some staff off to eat off site bc "I forget who on my team has food allergies" despite us asking specifically being told none. Staff left on our dime. Uber Eats also would've been a better option. They asked the father of the bride for his speech (so he could "relax") and then lost it so we had to track it down. When the bridal processional started, the quartet played for 30 seconds before the gates were opened. Christina kept asking the bride if she was ready and she replied "Yes" three times while Christina just stared back but did not open the gates until the father of the bride had to sternly tell her to. This was the most awful and stressful experience and at no point in the day was anything coordinated. It was just made more complicated. We could've handled all the above had we known it was our responsibility. Instead, we TRUSTED them to take care of everything, and they blew it. It should be noted in response to the above they replied in email that not all of it was their fault. They would send us a follow-up email explaining what was not. That has still not been received but should be no surprise.

From start to finish, Courtney was an absolute delight to work with. She is incredibly organized, kept every detail and every person on track with ease, and did it all with such warmth, kindness, and positivity. She truly is a bright light. I am definitely not someone who was born to plan parties, so having Courtney to bounce ideas off of and guide us through the planning process took an enormous weight off my shoulders. My mom passed away a few years ago and I was afraid to plan a wedding on my own, but Courtney became more than a planner she became my friend. She made every decision feel manageable and always made us feel confident that everything was under control. On our wedding day, I never once felt stressed or overwhelmed. Every detail was executed flawlessly, and I was able to be completely present for every special moment instead of worrying about logistics. Seeing everything come together so beautifully was beyond anything we could have imagined, and that was all thanks to Courtney's incredible work behind the scenes. I also want to mention our DJ Brian (who we were able to hire alongside Courtney in a contract together). He also deserves all the praises - there was not one moment where the dance floor wasn't filled and he was SUCH a talented DJ. The online program he used to help compile our song requests was so easy to use and he was so engaging the entire time with our guests. Thank you Brian! We are so happy we trusted you as our DJ, all our family and friends raved about you.  Not to be confused with our amazing DJ - I also would love to recommend DJ Catering. Doug and Courtney have worked together for years and their teamwork was flawless. I had so many people tell us after the wedding that it was the best wedding food they have ever had, by far. And being able to rent all the tables etc through them made the process so simple.  Anyone looking for a wedding coordinator who is organized, professional, genuinely kind, and truly invested in making your day perfect, I cannot recommend Courtney and One Sweet Day Weddings & Events highly enough. She gave us the gift of being able to fully enjoy one of the best days of our lives, and for that we will always be grateful.    P.S. Courtney thank you for being the most prepared person ever and sewing my button back on my dress mid wedding we love you! You are the best. Thank you so much for being part of our story.

Her organization, attention to detail, and calm, confident presence made such a difference during what could have been a stressful time. From coordinating vendors to keeping the timeline running smoothly, she made sure everything flowed perfectly. She anticipated needs before I even had to ask and handled any little hiccups behind the scenes without me ever knowing. Because of Courtney, I was able to be fully present and actually enjoy every moment of my day. She went above and beyond in every way and truly made my wedding feel effortless and perfect. I can't recommend her enough!
