Finally became a member here because I just love this place! Karl is absolutely awesome and if you get to be on the receiving side of his service you won't be disappointed!! They have an incredible selection of wines, my favorite are the Sauvignon Blanc's from both last years harvest and a few years back! The Venu is stunning and you have just enough space between you and the next group, fun activities include corn hole, two large bachi ball sets and lots of livestock to view! So grateful to be so close to this amazing spot!

My visit to Old Creek Ranch Winery was my first time at a winery and my first time doing wine tasting. The experience was nothing short of enjoyable and relaxing, and somewhere I would love to visit again (if only it were closer!) [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a great spot for a date night or for groups of friends to share a bottle or two right next to the vineyards.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The property was beautiful this time of year and they even had goats (as pictured) and chickens near the front of the ranch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My only suggestion regarding the wine drinking would be to skip out on the wine tasting if you already have an idea of what bottles you enjoy, especially if you are on a budget since the tasting serving sizes are very small!

They have a wine membership program, like so many of these places do nowadays, which made our tastings discounted from $30 to $6 a piece. None of the wine really stood out to me except for the El Camino - a red blend with syrah and grenache. The Albariño was also pretty good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They are dog friendly and offer small bites like chips and popcorn.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would definitely recommend checking this place out!
Normally when I go wine tasting, there's some wines that I don't like - I loved EVERYTHING on their wine flight! So good, such a nice transition to the next wine also. Smart plays. The service was quick and frequent which was appreciated. The land and sitting area - omg, BEAUTIFUL! I love how they strategically placed all the tables under shade or trees. No matter where you sat, you were comfortable. Just enough space to keep a conversation with your group and stay out the way of the others. The ONLY con - is there was no charcuterie board with how nice the establishment was I just knew there would be some good board selections. The snack boxes we ordered were good but a board would've set it over the top! Other than that - LOVED IT! **UPDATE** outside food is allowed, bring your own boards if interested as Ventura requires them to have a kitchen!

I feel I'm in paradise whenever we come! Nestled in the canyon among the vineyards, oaks and other trees Lots of beautiful seating areas among trees and under vines. You can bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks. They have water stations. You can do tasting flights, glasses or bottles. You pay as you go. You can reserve online for 2-3.5hr slots for bigger groups and the others are walk ins. Service is so friendly, there is plenty of parking. It's a perfect place to come sit and relax and enjoy the weather and wine. They have goats! They don't sell food. So bring your own! Check the website for all of their options for reservations and any other questions. I personally don't think the membership is worth it unless you are planning to take bottles home. It's only 10% discount on bottles and tastings. 50% off bottles to take home. They don't offer discount on reservations or anything else. And make sure to sign up for membership before coming otherwise you cannot get discounts.

We came on a weekend in December and it was fairly quiet, we paid for a reservation but it wasn't needed. We had a great time and ended purchasing a membership. We brought our own snacks and enjoyed the day with our wine.
This little winery was so cute! Came here at 4pm on a February Saturday & it was bumping. We didn't make a reservation since it was only an hour before they closed and we were able to get a seat right away. I would probably recommend making one, if you wanted to come during the middle of the day on the weekend and especially if you had a party larger than 4. They have waiters that come to your table to serve you. Since they were busy, it did take a little longer to get a drink since they only had 2 waiters who could take orders on the entire property. They had a food vender who was making fire stone pizzas but unfortunately they were all sold out by time we came. They didn't sell any other food on site which was a bummer. My friend got the flight of 6 wines for $30 and I got a glass of Sauvignon Blanc for $15. The flight was 2 whites and 4 reds so if you like reds then the flight is the best option to go with. The sauvignon blanc was good so I ended up getting a bottle for $35. Overall the winery was a fun and cozy vibe so definitely would come back.

Been here many times and it's definitely one of our favorites. However, this was our first visit in over a year and this experience just wasn't quite the same. Customer service was still great, but I noticed a few changes that took away from the experience for us personally. I do like that the tastings are no longer in the plastic tubes, although the tubes did feel like they held a little more wine. What we didn't enjoy was that when multiple people ordered the same tastings, they were placed into the same shared glass/container. In our party of four, three of us had the same six tastings and had to share. I appreciated the bow on the glass showing the pours, but I preferred the previous setup where everyone had their own individual tastings. It may seem small, and thankfully our group was fine sharing, but it made the experience feel less personal and honestly made us less interested in doing tastings again on future visits. Some people also may not feel comfortable sharing containers or touching the same glass. Nothing terrible at all, just some feedback from longtime visitors who loved how it used to be. On this visit we actually ended up ordering a bottle afterward instead, and moving forward we'll probably just continue doing that rather than the tastings. read more

Only thing is to not leave your food unattended as they will proactively toss it, even if it's a full loaf of bread. Unbelievably beautiful space. The perfect place to gather outside with a big group and enjoy some wine and views. There are many diverse and delicious wines available on the menu, and the prices are reasonable. There is plenty of outdoor seating -- mostly picnic tables and some areas with chairs. There is an area with cornhole to play and a lot of the space is grassy/shady area too. We thought we'd be very hot but were comfortable the whole time. You can bring your own food, and it seemed commonplace that folks brought picnics, which was really lovely. The staff was super welcoming from the get-go. They were friendly and checked in often to see if we needed anything. Overall highly recommend this place! read more

We absolutely loved our experience at the winery. My only complaint is that sometimes it was hard to get an order in. My boyfriend and I split a flight so we could decide what we wanted glasses of. It took forever before we had someone take our order. But otherwise beautiful spot we would come back. It feels pretty private and you get a gorgeous view! read more

This is a beautiful and peaceful location. The trellis seating is somewhat private so you can enjoy your wine and relax, while taking in a view of the vineyard and hills. There ARE bees that fly around you constantly but as long as you ignore them they really don't do anything. If you have pizza delivered though I assume they'd be more of a bother (you can order pizza be delivered from a local restaurant). Our favorite of the 6 tastings was the Cabernet Sauvignon. Beautiful place! They have "cabanas" that are covered patio nooks covered with a burlap tarp and grapevines. We sat overlooking the sheep and goats. So cute. Tasting flight is $30 and they have snack boxes and cookies. Parking is free. read more
I really loved the ambiance at this winery. They had a spacious grass area and some really cute secluded tables that would be great for a date. I like the views of the vineyards as well. We got the tasting and I liked the wine that we tried I would suggest making a reservation as they get busy. What a lovely place!!! Did a girls trip here for the holiday weekend and it absolutely did not disappoint. Our reservation got us the cutest little cabana with a gorgeous vineyard view. Having the shade from the sun was also lovely. The service was excellent and our wine tastings were delicious. So many good photo ops here!! read more

This winery was a wonderful and unexpected find of our two day costal tour. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would pay just to seat in their outdoor grape covered booth looking at the, vineyard, tree line and blue sky.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The wines are amazing, service is superb, Karl is such a good host. The cutest winery. Dog friendly and very reasonably priced. They get super busy on the weekends when it's nice out so try to make a reservation if you have a big party. Also- they have electric charging which is a nice bonus ! read more

This place is such a vibe. The outdoor patio is gorgeous! It has a great view of the vineyard and plenty of private, comfortable seating. My boyfriend did a tasting for $30, while I got a single glass for $15. Our pourer, HENRY, was excellent, offering spot-on recommendations based on what we were looking for. Old Creek Ranch Winery was our first stop of the day on our journey to Ojai. We arrived right when they opened around 11am and ended up being about third in line. We were seated at a very nice table with great views. Service was friendly, though admittedly a little spotty at times. I think they had mentioned they were short-staffed that day, which is more than understandable. Overall, I thought the wines were good. We all thoroughly enjoyed our time here, and I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back. read more

First time back in about 5 years. This place is awesome now. So much room, lots of little private seating areas. The wine was also a lot better than I remember. In site wood fired pizza was great also. We are actually thinking about joining their wine club they two options. Gorgeous area! read more
First time visiting Old Creek Ranch's winery and vineyards and really enjoyed the beautiful property. They have a Ventura address, but it's really quite a drive from downtown, on the way up the hill to Ojai. SERVICE, WINES, & FOOD: Ashley poured for us and was friendly and efficient, but not overly detailed in explaining the various wines. Part of that is due to the way they serve you all the wines at once in mini-carafes, so you're not getting any interaction and info as you move from one wine to the next. They're currently charging $21 for six 1-ounce pours, which I thought that was a little steep. They also don't offer to waive any tasting fees with bottle purchases. I think I enjoyed the wines a little more than my wife, with my favorites being the 2018 Albariño and the 2016 Red Handed (red blend). The property is absolutely beautiful with lots of native flowers and plants, and many outdoor seating areas for tasting or enjoying a picnic. Most of the seating is under large trees that provide wonderful shade, as it was an extremely warm day on our visit, so that was a big plus. You can also reserve seating areas under a garden trellis for $25 per party. Trellises can accommodate either parties of 2 or 8, and it seemed odd that they didn't offer something in between. Overall, I really enjoyed the grounds and could find myself going back to enjoy a bottle of wine and a nice picnic beneath the trees. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Thanks for your inquiry! Picnic tables are for walk-ins, no reservations required! And no problem with a nine month old. Kids under two years are welcome.

How far is this off the bike path that runs from Ojai to Ventura?
It would depend on where you cross Highway 33. From the highway to our entrance down Old Creek Road is approximately one mile.
