I initially went with the company that I had first contact with and because their bid was much lower based on square footage, but they came over Friday night to get a paint sample then called Saturday morning (scheduled to start Sat noon) to say that after seeing the place in person their bid was actually going to be almost twice as much. And they'd need to use cheap paint to keep their bid that low. I called Noe in a panic because when he came out to quote the job I felt like he was a good person. And he came through. Noe managed to shuffle jobs (thank you, summer storms!) to reassign multiple guys to my job on a Sunday to make sure they'd be done before I got on a plane to return to CA on Tuesday. Guillermo and Ivan were super courteous and sweet, and they were later joined by another person as well to finish up that night by 7pm (we were bracing for 9pm), and were completely done by noon Monday. Although we are renting out our place, we are keeping it so that we'll have the option to live in it again at some point if that works out, so we don't want to have it be poorly maintained. Noe was clear that he only uses quality products and used all Benjamin Moore paint in our place. It looks really great! And get this - after going out to pick up tools to take off the old bathroom fixtures, Noe and Guillermo even came back later on Monday to help us out with our bathroom fixtures (we'd ordered new ones that didn't arrive until that afternoon) because we were only in town for one week and didn't have any real tools here. I can't tell you how many grey hairs they kept me from sprouting! We'll definitely call Noe for any other jobs we have in the future - he plans to expand into cleaning as well as painting, so it'll be a one stop shop for us!

While he is extremely nice, he is not a good supervisor and takes on way too much work, spreading himself too thin. If you just need one painter, give him a try but you'll need to speak Portuguese because his staff doesn't speak or understand English much at all. Our experience was Edison basically left one painter onsite and rarely checked in on how the work was going, leaving me to supervise his guy(s). I later found out that the original painter didn't even work for him, he was a sub-contractor which negates his liability insurance. Many issues; way too long to do the work, cost additions (because he left a painter on the job (who was extremely nice) but would put a finish coat on a wall before the prep was up to par), areas missed, etc. There was one incident we are sure one of his painters did but cannot prove. While painting a basement floor with enamel paint, someone decided to use the bathroom in the sump pump pit. Because the sump pump had a cover on it but was not hooked up as yet, we needed to replace the sump pump because the pit reeked of urine odor because it sat for a couple of weeks before being noticed. In the end, no matter how many times we gave Edson a punch list, items were missed, the work is still incomplete, they are gone.
