There seems to always be something fun going on: a concert, a science talk, a festival, etc. I do think the beers need a little work though. The variety and creativity is definitely there, but the hoppy beers tasted a little oxidized and some of the sour fruit beers were a little over-the-top (more like a smoothie than a beer) for me. Some of the best brewery vibes around, definitely worth going out of your way to stop in!

The prices are pretty okay on most things. Came in here recently and we got a few beers. It's about $8 a pint. There's stronger ones that are more expensive but still not that much though. Best one I tried was the Jam Session: Strawberry-Peach Crumble. This is a sour, a Berliner Weisse. Had a pretty good sweetness to it. The other one that was a favorite was the Galaxy 503, an IPA that's not too hoppy and has a sweet taste. Also they have mead and smoothies if you want something besides beer. The beer is good but there's a lot more. Has a pretty cool atmosphere. It only has beer and mead so there's no food menu. There sometimes will be food trucks on weekends.

It's about $7 a pint. Best one we had was the Sandhill Lager. This is crisp and refreshing, with citrus and floral notes. Food is limited. There's bags of potato chips but they have food trucks come sometimes. Getting here is the most confusing part but the beers make it better. It's located on the southeast part of town off McConnell Road. There's food trucks and live music on weekends.

Next stop, Cary RACIST Ale House. The back area lounge was nearly empty & we were assured it was open (not booked for any events). The waitress, at the start aggressively asked a bunch of questions. I first thought her line of questioning was bizarre so I ignored her while trying to figure out what to order. She asked how we got there, who was driving & specifically said she didn't feel comfortable in serving me. WTF?!?!? My friend politely answered her questions and when she left, we all agreed the waitress's behavior was odd & laughed it off. We refused to have her ruin our evening. To our SHOCK the waitress would NOT serve me?! Only me! Was I disruptive? NO! Was I being violent or doing something illegal? NO! Did I come in stumbling? NO! Was I slumped over passed out? NO! This was crazy! Check your security cameras if you don't believe! Was this a bad twilight zone episode? Was someone going to tell us this was all a joke? I was speechless. We asked her why. WOW, she basically said my Asian eyes were an issue. Falsely claiming I was drunk and couldn't be served because she didn't like Asian-looking eyes?!?! I was stone cold sober ***hole! It's kind of hidden as it is located in a separate space behind the taproom and we actually appeared to walk through some of the production facility to access the space (likely on account of the cold) which was both fascinating and slightly nerve-wracking, similar to the beginning of a low-budget horror movie! The space is airy and large, and accommodated a couple hundred inebriated baseball parents (and two infidels from Wisconsin that snuck into the event and won the whole damn thing!) along with a quesadilla truck and raffle prizes. I don't drink so I can't speak to the beer but others I talked to said they were good. I can only vouch for their Coca-Cola and give that a thumbs up! Really the only issue is that the space never seemed to fully warm up for me and I left my coat on the entire several hours I was there.

The on-site parking lot is quite small, but other business lots and street parking is available nearby, especially during events. I tried a sample of their light pilsner and purchased a 12 ounce prickly pear sour. It had a unique flavor to it and wasn't too tart or sour, as I find some to be. I would like to return and try the cranberry sour and German, dry pilsner. Perhaps after "Dry January!" (Hello Mocktails). I did not order any food but I do plan to return and would like to try some of their menu items. I enjoyed sitting at the bar with others and our server was delightful. I have also had their wheat beers which are tasty. Inside the brewery there is a cozy feel and the singing cook in the kitchen was fun to listen to, as he had a nice voice. Since my earlier visits to this establishment, they now have food available for purchase. (I didn't try, but decent size menu). I also remember they having a heavy lager and ipa selection. (Ipas are great!). Now, they also offer a handful of sours too! I find it funny they call their hard seltzers holy water. They also offer hard lemonade and hard ice tea. Props for the variety! Friendly service, check em out!
