I used to live around here and would come often. It was a great place for a walk after work but now if visiting Novato I rather go to Indian Valley, Indian Tree, or Mount Burdell because they are better. Hamilton is more suited for a hike if you live around here. No shade whatsoever, I wouldn't do this in summertime unless it was night. The parking is at Hamilton Landing or there's another entrance at Hangar Avenue. At the southern end of the trail there is a little area to stop and turn around or you could technically continue to go farther to do the Las Gallinas pools which is another 1.5 mile there. On the northern end you can walk all the way to Bel Marin Keyes Blvd.

Plenty of parking whether you park in the lot or along the road. It gets quite busy as a number of kids extracurricular activities happen here on evenings and over the weekend. I like coming here to walk with our pup, as there's plenty of grass and space to sniff. Some other dogs we see are off leash, but most people we see are good about keeping their dogs on leash. There are plenty of trees along the park, and a cute path that leads to the neighborhood further up the street. Also, the grounds are kept quite clean, and I seldom see any litter on the ground. Definitely appreciate people keeping our local park clean!

There's at least 3 play structures for all age groups up to 12 years old, plus a…read morepretty decent bouldering (rock climbing) wall, a tall swingset, a tire swing, a pretty good size sandbox with a rock feature in the middle, a medium size grassy area, and an easy-to-miss paved bike track for the tikes that circles half of the whole playground. Two tiny picnic tables are under a partly shaded canopy. Benches are dispersed throughout. When we went, there were ample porta-potties and portable hand-wash basins just outside the fences, and there are permanent bathrooms at the tennis courts nearby. Besides the fenced-in playground, there's a larger park with ample grassy areas, tennis courts, a baseball field, I think a soccer field, picnic tables with barbecue (BBQ) pits, and a small pond with a walking path around it. There's ample parking for cars and a couple of bike racks too. If you choose to give a thumbs-up or not, I hope you found my review helpful!

It was the first time our 9-year-old girl and our 6-year-old boy rode. Marco created a safe and challenging environment for them. They went through several different exercises that both built up their skills and confidence and at the same time got them excited about the sport. That's so challenging to do. In my experience classes are either to methodical and boring or over-challenge the kids and make them uncomfortable. I enrolled two kids (ages 8 and 11) in the Sk8gym summer camp program the week of July 20th. The…read moreteenage instructors were great with the kids, but the camp leadership and overall management tone made for a negative experience. Throughout the week, both of the kids reported a that instructor/owner was frequently shouting and harshly reprimanding young campers and the teenage instructors. During the final session, when the 11-year-old specifically asked the instructor/owner for guidance on how to ollie, instead of receiving coaching, he was told he could never learn the trick because of how he pushed on the skateboard. This left him in tears. Mind this is a camp to teach kids how to skate - of course they are not experts. When I contacted management directly to raise concerns about how the situation was handled, they refused to offer any accountability and instead placed the blame back on the child. While the staff on the ground are doing their best, I cannot recommend this camp due to management's unsupportive and harsh approach. Learning to skateboard should be a fun and welcoming atmosphere. This was not that.

Then times changed and it.....wasn't so nice. Times have changed again in a sense and now it is nice again. Never thought I'd see a skate park section, multiple baseball fields, tennis courts (just tried thos for the first time ever), soccer areas, playground space, and more. At first i thought it was just an open field area but its a whole walking path with sections that are little mini beaches. Then when you keep walking down there is another bathroom plus a park for the kids and another parking lot. This is a dog friendly, bike friendly, family friendly path. This is actually quite big and it has beautiful views of the bay. I would definitely come back here again!

So named as a "sister city" to Shimada in Japan, with a humble sculpture strategically facing west, an acknowledgement of the distant relationship by providing both sun rise and setting sunset views. The very symbol of Japans flag: the rising sun from the east. Many folks fish here off the steps leading down to the bay waters, others Launch kayaks, while even more walk ride bikes or even bird watch. In the summer the wild fennel bushes are prominent aligning the path and grow very tall. It's best to park at Village by the Macy's and walk across the street to the marsh or there is also a little parking lot at off the Redwood Highway on the way to Trader Joes that looks out on to a pond. There are really 2 parts, the north part is right across from the Village which you can do a loop and the southern part you need to walk a bit further and the path is an out and back. I feel this part is more for people that live in the houses right in the area and there is an entrance from Channel Ave and Echo Dr. The last time I went to the southern part, the bushes alongside the trail had out of control growth. It felt like you needed a machete to effectively go through and there was a creepy feeling that someone from Children of the Corn was hiding ready to jump out at you. Shorebird Marsh and Corte Madera Marsh State Marine Park I think are the same thing though there are 2 entries in Yelp.

This 31-acre marsh area, part of a protected area (bird sanctuary), isn't all that interesting but…read moreit's free, parking is easy, and you'll see birds (notably white pelicans) and the Bay. Parkin the huge gravel lot across from Nordstrom's. Go towards the right (towards the 101 and the frontage road north of the mall) and you'll find yourself walking along a large loop around the marsh area. It starts out as asphalt (and is completely flat and good for rollerblading though you must be careful not to skate into traffic or into the marsh) but then turns into a dirt path. The loops seems very popular for people walking their dogs. If you go towards the left, to the public shore area, you'll find two dirt paths that dead end (took 10 minutes to jog to the end of one from the parking lot). You'll find tall grasses here, pools of water, backyards and flat dirt paths. The scent of anise permeates the air.
