Fields are surrounded by fencing. Restrooms did not seem to be maintained throughout the day so as the day wore on, and more people were using it, it was a mess - no toilet paper, dirty messy floors, a couple of toilets needing maintenance. Not pleasant at all. There's only one restroom building and for our tournament, there was always a line at the women's restroom. Parking was horrendous. For any other regular event, there's probably enough parking but for this tournament it filled up quickly by 8am and people were starting to park in the grass. The Park officials announced during the tournament that anyone parking on the grass will be towed. They did suggest other parking areas on a gravel path that were still pretty limited. If you're there for a big event, just get there early enough to park.

There's so much to do here for all ages and activity levels. I personally go mainly for the tennis courts, and my review is mostly based on that experience. I play with a beginner tennis group there every Thursday, and the tennis area is great. There are a ton of courts in the back of the park, maybe around 10 or more, so it never feels overcrowded. There's also plenty of parking, which makes it really convenient. I recently reserved a court through the Mecklenburg County app, and the process was super easy. It was only about $5 an hour, and I heard they'll let you rebook or refund you if it rains, which is a nice touch. The entire park feels very clean, safe, and welcoming. There are bathrooms nearby, walking and hiking areas, places to bring your dogs, and other sports areas too. I've seen people playing frisbee golf and just enjoying the park in general. It's one of those parks where you can really spend the whole day doing different activities. I live in the NoDa area, and it's only about 15 minutes away from me, so it's definitely worth the drive. I would absolutely recommend this park, especially if you play tennis because there are plenty of courts and the atmosphere is really nice.

Today, the park boasts basketball courts, trails, three restrooms, picnic shelters with grills, a softball field, a disc golf course and a number of volleyball fields. The picnic shelters can be reserved. Buried at the back end of a residential neighborhood, it is not located near any main roads or even a decent secondary. First off, the dog park is amazing. Huge with lots of space, separated areas for small and large dogs, agility play equipment, benches and the like. You must have a city dog license and it seems that access to the park is using an RF tag to open the gate. Nearby, an ADA compliant playground, fitness equipment and a disc golf course. And that's just half the park. On the other side, a regular playground with a splashpag, picnic shelters, a massive baseball/softball complex and walking trails and a mountain bike trail. It has a lot of mountain biking trails, but we were just hiking. The lake is really pretty and some of the trails go right along it. I'm not sure if we followed an actual predefined hike, but I think we walked for about 4 miles which is pretty good for a Charlotte park.
