Multi-purpose public park in a residential neighborhood. Lincoln Park has a small, free, public…read moreparking lot that is accessed by a single-lane, shared road from Fernside Drive. Street parking is also available on Fernside and at the other entrance on High Street. The park has: a baseball diamond that serves as the home of the Alameda High School Baseball Team, the field also hosts many soccer games on the weekends, a public swimming pool - one home of the Alameda Gators Swim Team, a bocce ball court, bbq and picnic tables, a recently remodeled play-ground, a full-length recently resurfaced basketball court with string nets, a handball court, an enclosed area with exercise contraptions, and 4 pickleball courts for the fastest growing sport in the US. The 4 pickleball courts were converted from 2 tennis courts and have permanent but recently replaced nets. Surfaces are very worn with numerous cracks and can get gritty from sand/dirt blown from the 2 adjacent bocce ball courts. Play is from 8am to dusk and players range from beginner to advanced with mostly intermediate players. Players are friendly and receptive to visitors and beginners. Prospective players put their 4 paddles on the fence under the numbers 1-8 and venture on to court as a 4 person group when courts become available. On occasion, a yellow pickleball with a hook is put above beginner paddles in search of other beginner players. The recently renovated playground has structures to climb, slide, swing on and has a new bark surface. The new structure has nearby benches allowing parents to sit and watch their children play. A rose garden and a grove of Redwood trees are on the High Street side of the park for those looking for some Zen time. Beautiful spot for pictures and picnicking below the redwood trees. FYI - there is a defibrillator in the swim center. Public and clean restrooms are located next to the small parking lot. Restrooms are well maintained as the park maintenance department has equipment and workers based at this location. Overall, a beautiful neighborhood multi-purpose gem of a park... needs PBall court resurfacing though...

Once you walk past the tennis courts, picnic tables, and basketball court, you will find the Dimond Canyon hiking trail and Sausal Creek. There is also a community pool here, which is really popular during the summer. The basketball court is only a half court, so people just shoot around here. But the trail goes for a good while, it's kind of a link from the Dimond District to the Glenview area in Oakland.

It is a nice park and it's great seeing people walking around and enjoying the park, the kids are playing, and they can participate in the community center events. The second time I came through, I was checking in on my niece who was attending a weeklong camp for kids. She was holding court, as she does, in the play area. I reported back to her mom that she was fine. But the community feel was what got me. I loved it and the folks in the area are lucky to have it and be able to use it.

One car speeds down the road going maybe 20 miles over the speed limit - a few seconds later an old mustang peels out and fishtails around without any control of its direction. From the people speeding down the street - that alone I wouldn't let my cat out in this area - let alone any other human loved one. You would think people would have more respect in areas kids play or go to school but they don't. Dead lawn - tons of it - trash and cars that probably didn't move in months clutter the streets. I hate to hate on some park - and maybe you live nearby and its your jam - but likely this place wouldn't attract anybody who lives more than a block or two away. Your here because its in your back yard or you stumbled on it. To me parks like this are bad enough I would think the city might be better off redeveloping or rethinking the space.

5 stars for improvement…read more Quality/Quantity - All/most of the crime is gone. Actually, it looks like a park now. Safer to walk now; no garbage, litter, human waste, needles, fires, property crime, etc. everywhere any more. Community Center - Rebuilt. Atmosphere - Finally clean and safer. Look forward to seeing "kids" use this park again. Good news, less gang violence, but more homelessness. Service - Self service. Price - Free. Owner Comment - Congrats on your goal in 1996 to better utilize this wasted space. Then in 2002, it slowly started to change for the better. But too little too late. It is not until 2024/2025 (end of 2024) that the park actually looks safe and habitable.... I hope we/you can keep it that way! Our government at work, it just took 2024-1996 = 28 years from idea to action... Thank you to all the volunteers and advocates that finally made this all happen! Overall still 3 stars (used to be 1 star) but with continued improvement, I can see the rating improve.

Clinton square park is descended from the clinton township of the 1850's. the township is named after mary ellen clinton, the township founder's girlfriend. jack london and robert louis stevenson lived nearby here at one time. the native american tribal center is a block away. this area may seem to be mostly populated by southeast asians, but there are also significant numbers of native americans, latins, and russians in the area also. parking spaces are a premium here as the surrounding commercial businesses attracts many cars. a shame since this prevents me from frequenting clinton park more often.

It's a nice park and good for dogs who like to trot along the path with you. But if you have a rambunctious dog (like I do) who wants to tangle with other dogs or launch off the edge of the trails, this is probably not the best fit. If you've got little kids, or just want to go for a walk, Dracena Quarry Park is a good bet.

After parking, if you can find a spot, the first play area includes a trampoline, climbing structure, a wide metal slide and an oversized musical chime. To the right, a spacious mesh swing spins with kids constantly filling and spinning it. Directly in front is an ample sand area with a brick barrier surrounding it. To the left are three picnic tables. In front of the sand area is the smaller kids play area which is directly next to the restrooms and water fountain. To the left of the little play area is the zip line. When you go further in to the park, there is a covered area with lots of picnic tables and seating grouped together, more benches and lots of grass to play and explore further. There are paths to ride bikes, scooters, roller blades and skateboards. During warmer weather this park is packed. When we visited, following a prior event, there were already lots of kids on a gray, windy, overcast day. This park is spacious on the interior but parking on the exterior is limited. The parking lot is minimal for the amount of space to explore, which is awesome but makes it difficult to navigate up close parking. Street parking is not really existent unless you enter on the opposite end of the park.
