This review is based simply on service. Came in to get car inspected, car is 3 years old and in great shape. Go for a walk with 9 month pregnant wife, who is in early labor (hey maybe we shoulda done this earlier). Get failed for 2 back tires, that were honestly in pretty good shape. Even asked at the tire shop I got them replaced at, and they remarked the tires were fine (same tire shop that tells me I need new ones on our other car all the time). We brought our SUV to this establishment for an inspection. It was the same place we got the inspection done last year as well, no issues then. But this time, they failed us for our tint on the rear doors. We did have tint installed in the last year on the rear doors and rear tailgate because we had a newborn and this helped our son with the sun shining through. There was already factory tint, we just doubled it up and we were happy with it. Once it failed, we had the rear door tint removed to comply with the inspector in order to pass our inspection. When my wife brought the vehicle back, the same technician said that there was tint on the front windows that needed to be removed and the tailgate must also be removed. We argued for a moment because we were confused. We failed initially solely for the rear doors and that was taken care of. Now all windows pose an issue and we explained that we did not tint the front windows. It was either factory tint or we bought it like that (mind you that we had the same car inspected at the same location a year prior without doing anything to the front windows and passed the inspection). He then proceeded to rip the tint without permission to "prove" that there was tint applied to the window. This is unacceptable behavior from a business. We requested from them to document each window and what the tint % was and we would be leaving. That did not happen and now, the front windows tint is ripped. Unprofessional, not helpful and a waste of time. Very disappointed and we hope people take their business elsewhere. read more

I had my 2008 Jeep Commander inspected there as I did all my cars. Told the rt side ball joint was bad and took it to Linders where I have all my repairs done. They found out it was bad (lower) and fixed it and then the Jeep went back to Millbury to be inspected and was told Linders fixed the wrong one. Brought it back to LInders where they took the car in and went over it closely. It was fine. Then Linders took it to their station and it passed fine. I used to like McLaughlin's but whoever is doing the inspections is an idiot. Never again. read more

Something you don't see enough of anymore, a full service gas station. It's great on a cold day that you don't have to get out of the car on those cold days. Of course you can expect to pay extra for the great service as fuel prices here are higher then average. read more

This service station is a rare find. They do a wide variety of basic repairs, from brakes to belts, radiators and hoses, etc. No engine or transmission work, but good solid repairs. Family owned and operated - on the third generation - the McLaughlins are well-known for fairness and honesty. If they can't fix it, they'll tell you so. Brought my vehicle in because it was bogging down. They changed the spark plugs and gave it back to us worse than it was before. Originally the engine wasn't throwing a code so they were guessing. THIS TIME it threw a code and we told them the light was on. They get here to pick it up and "cannot drive it" to the shop so they tell my wife it is the catalytic converter and that it will cost her 700 bucks. THEY DIDN'T EVEN CODE IT OUT. I got home and drove the "undriveable" car down to autozone where they threw a code reader on it. The only thing that came up was the O2 sensor in the head pipe. 10 minutes and 65 dollars later. 700 dollars my ass. My wife lost a day of work yesterday because of it. I told her to tell them not to come. It took a non mechanic 10 minutes figuring out something these "mechanics" were clueless about and then 5 minutes to fix.. If you don't mind someone trying to rip you off by all means go there. read more
