Shlomo was patient and offered his input as we figured out what design and materials we wanted. His team was able to move an outlet, build and install the shelving and cabinets, and mount the TV. We are very happy with how it turned out! Just a note that they specialize in custom work and keep a busy calendar so it may take some months from start to finish. Our project took even longer due to holidays and other work being done at our house. The price was higher than other companies we got quotes from due to the custom work but we felt it was well worth the quality!

From the moment we reached out, Shlomo was prompt, responsive, and understanding of first-time homeowners on their first project. Shlomo came to our house and walked through with me the two concepts I had in mind. He asked key questions that helped better shape the ideas, took the necessary measurements, then followed up in short order with a clear proposal and quote. The pricing was competitive and within our budget. Once we decided to move forward, the team delivered on the carpentry faster than we expected. Max and the team who did the carpentry were friendly and understanding of two tired parents who had to work in the house through the day. The work they performed was impeccable. The final product? 1) Built-in bookshelves with a table-height counter and drawers below: a showstopper and the new centerpiece of our living room; and 2) a ceiling-high pantry cabinet in our kitchen, attached to a new counter with a built-in garbage/recycling drawer. We are thrilled with the quality of these pieces, which have truly made our new home our own. If you are looking for cabinetry work in the DC-area, we unequivocally recommend you go with "As It Should Be." They will do great work for you.

At the moment Justin is a one-man operation, and as a result he will require more time to complete his job than the big boys (e.g. California Closets when it comes to custom built-ins). The big boys, though, use particle board (whereas Justin uses birch plywood) and farm out the manufacturing operation to a factory to get things cut quick and have a install design (whereas Justin cuts everything himself in his own home, transports it himself and has to do all the alignments himself). I thought I had a civil engineer in my house measuring the curvature of my walls, that is how detailed he is. I asked Justin about what other kinds or work he does. He does all kinds of remodeling, including bathrooms among other things (although he will contracts out the plumbing for example). The big guys generally have a lead time of like 2-3 months. Justin's lead time is probably 1 month or so. He is extremely flexible. Very punctual too. I highly recommend him.

Is that Mark Middendorf, who is/was the life partner of Mike, the FCC owner? Would it be dishonest to write a review that glowed about FCC if it had been written by someone who (a) may have had reason to know about the business problems that FCC and its owner were having, and (b) may have benefited financially from a glowing review?

These guys are high end as they mill and make the cabinets. Everyone loves a new Kitchen and Bath. Stay away from International Granite and Marble and the kitchen guy tucked away inside this business @ 5719 Lee Highway Arlington, Va. Crooks with attitude!! Scared of 3 of my homeowners and ripped me off also. Hoping Arlington County and Virginia Dept of Taxation shuts em down. You rip some one off and it comes back full circle. Whiners and know it all nothings. Tim Meyers is a cabinet dealer w/ terrible outsourced help. Better to go to Reico or a semi custom showroom.

My husband and I used Potomac Kitchen and Bath for our condo's kitchen renovation in summer 2021…read moreand waited a while to write this review because we wanted some time to reflect on our experience with the company. When we first contacted Mustafa, he was helpful in getting us an estimate and renderings of the proposed kitchen. He answered all our questions, the price was reasonable, and the project started as scheduled, which we appreciated in a time when so many things were back ordered. Harb, our project manager, was just okay. In my mind two of the most important qualities of a PM are communication and quality oversight. Harb's communication was acceptable most of the time but I felt that he really lacked the capacity for proper oversight and ensuring that the quality of the work was acceptable. We often had to point things out to him that he should have seen (e.g. fridge off balance, big noticeable seams in the crown molding, cabinet doors that banged into walls, etc). He was rarely on site and when he was here it was for less than 5 minutes to collect a check. Ultimately what really left a bad taste in our mouth was when one of the cabinet fronts (on the garbage can slider) broke after only a week or two of normal use. We contacted Mustafa/Harb who sent someone to "fix" it and his solution was to add a Velcro sticker to the cabinet instead of actually properly securing the sliding drawer with screws and hardware. Needless to say the cabinet broke immediately and when I contacted the company again they completely ghosted us. Never returned phone calls, emails, or text messages. I think if Potomac had come and properly fixed the cabinet, or at the very least returned our messages, I would have given them a 3.5 star review but this issue really left us upset and worried about the overall quality of the project. We won't be recommending this company to friends or neighbors.

When brainstorming the kitchen and bathrooms, the staff were very helpful with picking out the types of cabinets, counter, flooring, toilets, and hardware. The project manager and staff were wonderful with communicating with me and keeping me up to date. I'm grateful to have found Potomac Kitchen & Bath via Angi. I highly recommend them and wish they could do my kitchen in Pennsylvania.
