Please avoid doing business with this company. Years ago they were hired to remove railroad ties from my parking area and driveway. their equipment cracked multiple areas of concrete, and they refused to do anything about it. More recently they have continued to access my neighbor's sidewalk for snow plowing via my driveway. Snow is packed down by their equipment making it hard to snow blow and necessitating hand shoveling. They have been asked several times not to do this but continue to disrespect my property and requests. When called I get hung up on and then sent to voice mail. read more

Contracted them Summer, 2022 for a big job including soil prep and seeding. The lawn did terribly last summer and the owner Mike came out to assure me individual strands of grass would turn into clumps and make a lawn this spring. It is a horrible weed patch now so I called again Spring, 2023. He told me to contract a chemical company for the lawn I desired. What a complete and total ripoff. They were incredibly expensive and clearly do not stand by their work. Steer clear of Mclennan's Landscape in Manchester. I'm not in SF, CA. I'm in Chelsea. read more

Very kind family owned business. They are easy to work with and have fair prices. Highly recommend!

My 80 year old mother hired this company to perform a service. She was quoted a price in December 2023. After two phones calls, she was told by the owner that he forgot about it. Two gentleman came out in April 2024 and finally performed the work. My mother was not upset that it had taken so long, she was just glad it had finally been completed and was ready to pay her bill. When she received the invoice, it was for more than the original quote. We realize that quotes are normally only good for a certain amount of time, but they should only go up if the customer does not reach out to say they want the work done. In this case, she hired them to do the work, but THEY forgot about it, so the quote should never have gone up. The owner was incredibly rude when she called to ask why it had gone up and threated to come back and "undo/pick up the service they had completed" if she did not pay the new amount. We will never use this service again and will not recommend or speak highly of them to anyone. In reading other reviews, it appears this company does not stick to their quotes, threatens customers, does more work that is not asked of them and then charges customers for it, and treats seniors very poorly. read more

I wish I had found them sooner. McLennen people just took care of my 850-foot-long gravel driveway. It had developed a lot of potholes over the years, and they came out here with a big gravel-chewing gadget, scraped all the gravel back onto my driveway that had gotten pushed off to the sides over the years, and showed me where I needed a few extra yards, brought that and spread it, and were all done with the whole job in a total of a couple hours. I feel like I just got a new driveway, Excellent work, knowledgeable, and helpful. And when I was ready to do something stupid (and very expensive) (like replace the whole driveway) they told me "Um, no, you don't want to do that." And then explained what I should do instead. I will be calling them again if I ever need any similar work, including landscaping. read more

We have done a lot of business with McClennans, but no more. We bought raised bed soil for our garden and it did terrible. We called to tell them that the soil wasn't doing well for our garden and the man talked to us like we were stupid with his sarcastic comments. They lost our business and will lose the business of our freinds and neighbors. read more

Did a transaction with this company and they apparently don't care about customers after they walk away. I bought some used landscaping blocks from them, that I assume was complete profit since they were removing them from a sight and selling them to someone else. I was sold what was supposed to 200 blocks with the understanding that we could give or take "a couple" $1 apiece and $50 dump out of the truck fee so $250. I sent Mike a message the other day saying there are only 176 blocks. NEVER heard anything back not an wow I'm sorry or well you got a great deal, deal with it. NOTHING. Sorry but that is lousy business practice in my eyes and I'll never do business of any kind with this company and neither should you. Asked for a quote, was given a quote via email, was told $60 for 1x snow event , I never gave approval on the job yet they showed up and billed me $200. After talking to the owners no option was given to pay the $60 as quoted, instead they changed the bill again to $160, then dumped the snow back on city sidewalks endangering those who walk by. Revenge after a misunderstanding from a professional company. What a shame read more
