I read many reviews on Yelp, and after evaluating many contractors, I decided to use Yelp's project tool to contact Clark Innovative. When you do this, you get responses from many other companies too. Many reached out before Chris from Clark did. I ended up making an appointment with one of them to have them take a look at it. This person began has contract biz recently... and he did not seem confident. The way he was looking at it, he was reacting in a way that seemed like it's a bit of a pain in the you-know-what job and said it was going to cost a lot. He was a nice guy, but he did not instill confidence in me that he knew what he was doing. (He never even sent me a bid) After that, I wondered if I should reach out to these other companies that responded, but my intuition was telling me to wait a bit longer. Clark did eventually respond with apologies, and made an appointment to come look. They looked at it and just the way he was acting, I could tell this person knew what they were doing, and they came up with a solution to just replace the rotted portion, saving us half the cost! (So yeah, I believe the innovative part of their name!) It was all incredibly reasonable. Dates were pushed back etc, because of rain and other things, but I honestly didn't mind it. Chris tried to be a good communicator, and even when he wasn't, I could contact him and he'd respond. He was just busy. Sometimes, you can just tell with people who is being genuine. Who wants to simply do a good job for you, without gouging you or ripping you off. We need more of these people in the world right now. I'm glad I listened to my intuition, and waited for the right company to do the job. And I will definitely use them again for future work. It's really nice to have a good contractor in our back pocket.

Oh, and MCD's bid included building a back porch for that price! They completed everything in a week because they swarmed us with workers who worked on both projects concurrently. And both projects are finished to a high quality - the porch looks stout enough to land a helicopter on! Anthony, Meagan, and Dan were a pleasure to work with. We had a supplier problem that could have delayed the shower project for a month. Instead, they found a work-around and the start time was only delayed a week. The Eikos studio, with Keri and Linda, is great at helping you figure out what materials fit the design you have in mind. It's a reasonable extra fee at the beginning and well worth it as it ensures the project is planned down to the finest detail. When permits are involved the company ensures they are applied for and the work has no problem passing the inspections. I appreciate that they stick to their word and start work at the agreed time as well as following through to the end. Even after the walk through and final payment was collected, there was a minor plumbing issue that Chris and staff promptly came out to fix. They really stand by their work, which I find trustworthy. The entire crew are very pleasant to have around and the office staff including Kelley are stellar! I will hire them in the future to renovate our largest bathroom, as so far, we're happy :-)
