Paul is a great problem solver. He is communicative, on-time and worked diligently to get the job done at out house. We had an electrical issue that had been on-going, it was frustrating because we would get a quick fix but then it would go out again. Paul took the time to really map out our electrical and hone in on a long-term solution. He hustled to get the job done late into the evening as he wanted to do it thoroughly. Our smoke detector got broken when trying to quiet down on New Year'sEve. After listening to it all night, everyone's nerves were shot. I called an electrician who came right away on New Year's day. He disarmed it and it cost $210 for five minutes. I decided to call Paul Lashley Home Remodel who does electrical to replace the smoke detector. He replaced all of our smoke detector (3). He spent over an hour installing and trouble-shooting the smoke detectors. He did an excellent job. He even came back to the house to guarantee that no chirping what was happening. We had a condo remodel of Kitchen and Bathroom that grew to a much bigger job because of Paul's extensive experience working on older homes. The kitchen and bath turned out beautifully, but along the way we also discovered many "under the surface" mis-haps from former sub-standard electrical repairs, plumbing issues, etc. Everything was "made right" due to Paul's creative solutions, endless tool collection, and extensive experience with remodel projects. On a few items where Paul knew we could save $$ by bringing in one of MANY reliable sub-contractors he works with, and leaving him to tackle the items he's best at, we were able to get sheet rock work, carpet, and full interior paint job done at the same time. We bought a house about 15 months ago and needed serious work. Total kitchen and dining room remodel down to the studs including relocating a large beam and all appliances, gas range, sink, etc.... After interviewing six contractors and getting bids, we selected Paul and his crew. I got a good feeling right away during the initial interview. His bid and payment plan was very professional. His crew is very skilled and personable. I was on the job nearly everyday and they always let me know what was going on. I added to the scope of the job several times and Paul and his crew took it in stride and still finished on time. We got everything we wanted at a fair price and Paul and his crew worked into the night more than a few times to help us get into the house on time. He even taught me how to do some of the projects and worked well with our other contractors (floors, windows). I contacted Paul to replace a bathroom window and fix a a sliding glass door that was not properly installed. Paul was very knowledgeable and professional. He took the time to explain how he would repair the door and replace the window. He made me feel very comfortable and I have to say he is an all around nice guy who knows his stuff. Our kitchen had a partial electrical outage, we called Paul to troubleshoot and fix the problem. He was very nice and patient, explained to my husband every step he was going to do and was doing, fixed it in about 8 hours. The price is reasonable for the hours he worked. The reason I gave 4 star because I didn't realize the work was going to take so many hours, 2nd with so many hours we still didn't know what caused the outage, where was the problem. After living in my cramped old kitchen for 2 years after buying my house, I hired Paul to remodel it for me. I designed it, and purchased all of the main items and Paul and his team made my vision a reality. I used IKEA cabinets, and Paul's team to assemble and install them. They have worked with many IKEA kitchens and are very familiar with their cabinets. I could not be happier with Paul, or his team, they are all lovely people who work hard and care greatly about the finished product. When installing the cabinets they even had a couple very inexpensive suggestions to help make my space better and more functional. For example, i had about 8" of space between my pantry and the wall and instead of just covering it like I had designed they suggested a broom closet, and we worked together to come up with a great idea that wouldn't bust my budget. I had a very tight budget, and Paul was very fair with his pricing. I didn't feel like he was constantly trying to add things on. With Lil' knowledge of construction as a woman, I had concerns of being taken advantage of while on a limited budget as well. After careful consideration I decided to hire Paul Lashley to help demolish, prepare & coordinate a partial remodel/make-over of my dated 90's kitchen! MY PLAN: Oak Cabs remained, I'd would choose & arrange for Granite Co to replace my dated tile counter tops & add back splash tile. Paul worked so efficiently, patiently advised & guided me thru the entire process! He prepared the CTops & Back splash areas, installing sub-plywood & masonry tile backboard. He even offered some helpful design ideas, smoothly sequencing & coordinating w the Granite & Tile installers I had decided to hire separately & negotiate with. Along with a new stove & hood, Paul did the carpentry to install a tight over-size under mount porcelain sink just prior to Granite Co's appt to create a template for off-site CTop fabrication! I want to highly recommend Paul Lashley as a remodeller in the Bay area. I called on him to put the pieces together for a basement remodel - new foundation and the installation of a new bathroom there. He was able to step in and complete the electrical and plumbing without calling in expensive subcontractors. In subsequent projects, he has completed a kitchen remodel and installing sheetrock in an unfinished room. He stuck to his estimate and completed the project within the time he stated.
