I got a few bids from local companies but it's important to note that 707 Fence bids and uses higher quality lumber than most other companies. At least that's what I found out after comparing the bids. Make sure you compare that if you get other bids Alex and crew built a beautiful fence which I am very pleased with. The gates open and close like precision cabinetry. You'll find that Jen and Alex are very responsive and the team are talented and experienced builders. I highly recommend them and will have them back when another of my aging fences needs replacing and I won't even bother calling competitors.

He did not see or ask me if I wanted a key pad. I was told that Keen had my garage door in stock at one of their neighboring businesses and that once the door was sent to Santa Rosa they would be in touch. On April 22, Derek arrived and installed the garage door but it was not the one that I had ordered and set aside for me. I ordered a garage door with windows and Keen installed one without windows. Another round of appointments were made and a worker came and dropped off the window panel for the upper part of the garage door. A few hours later another worker came and installed the panel and took the solid panel with him. He said another worker would be coming that same day with the key pad. I questioned if he had the right one and was assured he did. Of course he had 2 key pads on the truck but neither were compatible with my door!! You would think that at this point Keen Garage doors would expedite the case to simply install a key pad. But no!! They place me in the appointment queue and offer a complimentary one year membership to have my door serviced. What a joke. Who has time to set up appointments and deal with incompetent office people and workers. Finally on May 6 the key pad was installed. I wondered if this outfit had ever installed garage doors before and I also wonder how they stay in business.

We contacted our landscaper about clearing the brush/foliage on our side of the fence, and his crew came out the next morning and removed and hauled away a truckload of vegetation. At 8:00 the next morning the Kenwood Fence crew arrived. They removed the old fence, put in the 4 x 4 posts embedded in two feet of quick-set concrete, and after lunch with the concrete set, they erected the new fence. I am *really* fussy about hiring contractors. So many of them conduct their business sloppily and…read moreunprofessionally I can't believe they stay in business at all. So I do my research and am VERY selective in who I hire when our house needs work. My wife and I hired Andy Fernandes and Adval and they proved to be the real deal. Andy was *always* prompt - every time he or anyone from his company was scheduled to arrive they arrived early. Andy and his crew were communicative, clearly very knowledgeable, and straightforward, which is to say that they told me *and showed me* what was really happening and not what they wanted to promise or what they thought we wanted to hear. And they followed through exactly as they said they would. The quality of their work was outstanding. We had a few kitchen cabinets that had gotten damaged by the 2014 Napa quake and were looking like they were going to fall off the wall. Andy sent over a master carpenter (he spent years building stuff for moneyed people on Martha's Vineyard, who can be quite demanding) who didn't "upsell" us by telling us one of the cabinets needed to be rebuilt (the build cabinet in their own shop), he showed us in detail exactly what the problem was and convinced skeptical me that a new cabinet built from real plywood instead of the particle board of the cabinets the flipper who sold us the house had installed was the way to go. They reused the facing from the old cabinets, so the match was immaculate. Price-wise, yeah, they weren't the cheapest I could have found, but they were most definitely not close to the high end, they were right in the ballpark, and I figure if I demand quality I have to be wiling to pay for it. And we most decidedly got what we paid for. I repeat again that I am VERY picky about contractors, but I unhesitatingly give Adval Construction my highest recommendation. Our job was pretty small, but I would hire them for a big job in a heartbeat. This is the way construction contracting is supposed to work.

We hired Adval construction to repaint our kitchen, bathroom, and hallway linen cabinets. Our old…read morecabinets were dark and gloomy, and we wanted a refreshed look. While we are overall happy with the final product, there were some pros and cons along the way Pros: - Hiring Adval was a pretty seamless process. We requested a quote and within a week, Camila the consultant/designer came for an inspection of our area, measurement, and go over samples for a free quote - Since my husband and I didn't want to be around paint fumes, it took us a few months to schedule the project in tandem with a trip out of town. Adval respected that and didn't push; they simply had us let Debbie know when we were ready - While we were out of town, the painters Ana and Jeff were very respectful of our place. We had cameras setup for security, and they always cleaned up after themselves, turned off our lights, and ensured our doors were locked each day they were on site. They even helped bring in our trash bins after trash day! Cons: - Adval wasn't the most affordable in comparison to other quotes we received. However, we chose them anyway because their process and communication seemed the most thorough (in the beginning) - Since we had the work done while we were out of town, scheduling with the GC Pedro for repairs and touchups was a bit of a struggle as they were already busy with other projects - It was not made clear how EASILY new paint on the cabinets could get scratched and damaged. We had pre-existing rollout drawers in our bottom cabinets and they scratched the doors so quickly. In addition, some areas (drawer/cabinet edges and corners) have already chipped. We wish Camila elucidated this information to us when we were debating painting vs refacing and that Ana/Jeff/Pedro gave us care instructions for the new paint when they initially finished the project - There were a few doors that were clearly damaged prior to painting (corners were broken off/chipped but then the door was still painted over); Pedro ended up picking up these doors and they repaired them at their warhouse - It took about 2 months from the time we returned from our trip/initial paint completion to the final completion of the project (between scheduling, Pedro taking the damaged doors back to the warehouse to have repainted/repaired, and Ana/Jeff returning for reinstallation and final touch ups; the final reinstall was rescheduled on their end 3 times which was slightly annoying) - We changed our mind after initial completion from financing to paying the remaining balance in full. However, something must not have been communicated because the Synchrony account was activated and we didn't know until they charged us a late fee due to missing the first payment. We were able to get the late fee waived and ended up just paying off the balance through Synchrony. Again, annoying. Overall, even with the roller coaster of our simple project, the entire team at Adval was always respectful. They were quick to respond to my texts/calls and showed professionalism in their work. I appreciated that they were responsive and accountable. We are just disappointed in how fragile the final product is and we weren't properly informed.

We had overhead lights in the living room and bedroooms, but the boxes in the ceiling need to be framed in to support the weight of the fans. I read many reviews on Yelp, and after evaluating many contractors, I decided to use Yelp's project tool to contact Clark Innovative. When you do this, you get responses from many other companies too. Many reached out before Chris from Clark did. I ended up making an appointment with one of them to have them take a look at it. This person began has contract biz recently... and he did not seem confident. The way he was looking at it, he was reacting in a way that seemed like it's a bit of a pain in the you-know-what job and said it was going to cost a lot. He was a nice guy, but he did not instill confidence in me that he knew what he was doing. (He never even sent me a bid) After that, I wondered if I should reach out to these other companies that responded, but my intuition was telling me to wait a bit longer. Clark did eventually respond with apologies, and made an appointment to come look. They looked at it and just the way he was acting, I could tell this person knew what they were doing, and they came up with a solution to just replace the rotted portion, saving us half the cost! (So yeah, I believe the innovative part of their name!) It was all incredibly reasonable. Dates were pushed back etc, because of rain and other things, but I honestly didn't mind it. Chris tried to be a good communicator, and even when he wasn't, I could contact him and he'd respond. He was just busy. Sometimes, you can just tell with people who is being genuine. Who wants to simply do a good job for you, without gouging you or ripping you off. We need more of these people in the world right now. I'm glad I listened to my intuition, and waited for the right company to do the job. And I will definitely use them again for future work. It's really nice to have a good contractor in our back pocket.

Within a few weeks, the chandelier caused the breaker to trip repeatedly when in use. Unsure of the cause, we stopped using it. Later that year, a licensed electrician evaluated the issue. We were informed that the chandelier had not been properly supported and was hanging by the electrical wiring rather than being secured by the mounting chain. By that point, the fixture was no longer usable. Recently, the chandelier detached and fell, shattering into our kitchen and dining area. This prompted us to document the issue and post this review. Prior to doing so, I contacted Edward through his website to seek resolution but did not receive a response. Based on our experience, we were disappointed with the installation and follow-up communication. I would recommend others proceed with caution and ensure all work is inspected and properly supported.
