August 2016 I just…read morecame back from a visit with Dr. Sheila Kredit and could not be more DISSATISFIED with my service from beginning to end. First off, I'm new to Madison and had to find a doctor that would see me in time in order to get a physical for teaching which consists of a physical fitness test and a tuberculin (TB) test. I had asked the receptionist on the phone that I needed a tuberculin test, but after Dr. Kredit saw me she said that needed to schedule an appointment a separate day. This is just the first complaint I have. Not only did they not listen they CHARGED me for a separate visit only to be told that I have good insurance and that I don't pay anything. Well, I pay a good ever increasing dollar for my healthcare and for them to tell me that insurance will cover just made me feel taken advantage of. Second, it may be everywhere nowadays but I had to fill out a non healthcare Obamacare questionnaire asking me about smoke detectors and if I own a gun and how many and where they are kept. I asked them to treat me like a person and not pry into my personal life. This wasn't received well. They told me unless they knew everything that it would be difficult helping me. Third, my visit took four and a half hours. That is just for a blood panel test (which actually took 3 minutes to draw my blood) and an intense questioning which I feel was punishment for not answering the Obamacare questionnaire. My appointment was at 8:15, which they were on time (my only positive experience) and I left the phlebotomist at 12:45. Quite awful to have to fast for 12 hours and then have a four in half hour appointment. Fourth, I was told that in order to get my physical statement, in order to teach, I needed to have a behavioral assessment. I told Dr. Sheila Kredit that the Illinois state law describes the physical statement to be an affirmation that I'm able to be physically fit an free of communicable disease. Dr. Sheila Kredit said her interpretation is that physical also means mental. I was flabbergasted. It's like saying up is down. They refused to sign my form after I went for my follow up to my second appointment for my tuberculin test came up negative. I'm physically fit and free of communicable diseases but they won't sign my form. The takeaway should be that: Wingra Family Medical Center is unethical by using my healthcare to extort money out of my insurance company; Dr. Sheila Kredit is inept at her job because she can't listen to her patient's needs. Do not go to Wingra Family Medical Center for your healthcare. You will be disappointed.

She carefully and sensitively listened to my symptoms. I was especially appreciative at how respectfully she treated me. Dr. Kredit is a resident at UW Madison and it is expected and anticipated that she touch base about treatment with her more experienced colleagues if necessary. As it turned out, it was not necessary. She diagnosed my medical issue and made appropriate recommendations as to addressing my issues. I am hopeful that Dr. Kredit stay in Madison where I am raising my children so that she can take care of my whole family. I love Dr. Kredit.

There…read moreare a few staff members that are great, however overall I do not feel that Patient Care and Experience are important to the staff at this location. Two years ago three members of our family were given a new diagnosis that required some navigating of the health care system (laws, paperwork, additional appts, etc.) The staff at this facility is often unhelpful in aiding us with questions or navigating our care plan. They do not help patients understand processes, guidelines or care schedule. We've had lost paperwork, missed medications, and more. I've mentioned before that I do not understand our care plan, but no one offers to help talk through it or kindly and patiently explain things to me. I'm often met with curt responses and just dead-end "good luck with that" kind of attitude. I feel that the staff finds me difficult. Im sure. But I'm a mother advocating for my child, and when my healthcare team is not helping me help my child then I will continue to advocate for them. I don't think it's too much to ask for people to tell us if things are coming up due. I understand the staff have limitations and guidelines to follow. However, if you're the type of person looking for healthcare team who are ON YOUR SIDE, who advocate and look out for you, then this is not the facility for you. I've called the patient complaint department before and unfortunately not had any resolution. Another message left today. We will see.

I drive about an hour to see her because she's a great primary care provider for routine checkups as well as other medical concerns that come up. I didn't get the same sense of warmth with the NP I saw when Dr. Khan was unavailable though. The receptionists are always very friendly, great parking and the facility is updated and always clean. If you're looking to try out new provider, I highly recommend checking out the Deforest clinic!

Go to the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, on the computer. She is high on the list in the upper Midwest. She gave me my life back. It was a 9 hour trip to UW Health for me. Everyone there was VERY helpful- appeared to love their jobs- everyone happy. All the other doctors I went to said "oh, lets wait and see", (For over 5 years-- even at other teaching clinics) "It's just a tiny one" (parathyroid), Come back in 6 months". I wrote one tiny E-Mail, including my list of symptoms and a chart of lab results for the last 5 years, and offered to come to her office. Within 1 hour, I had an E-Mail back from her. I received a call from her nurse. We set up a date. Got my records sent to her, and In 1 month it was all over!!! I had 3 parathyroids removed, and 1/2 of my thyroid. I am feeling great (it's been about 7 weeks so far) A majority of my symptoms are gone. I have gone to other endocrine doctors--- they don't get it! Dr. Sippel gets it! They judge you and act like they care but won't do anything for the patients they have been seen at their clinic for over 20 years. And thats before you even get to speak to the dr or nurses. The dr and nursing staff are rude if they think your looking for a prescription (especially pain relief) and will deny everything you say while acting like theyre listening to your concerns. Truly sad such a good clinic has went to such shit because of a few poor hires.
