August 2016 I just…read morecame back from a visit with Dr. Sheila Kredit and could not be more DISSATISFIED with my service from beginning to end. First off, I'm new to Madison and had to find a doctor that would see me in time in order to get a physical for teaching which consists of a physical fitness test and a tuberculin (TB) test. I had asked the receptionist on the phone that I needed a tuberculin test, but after Dr. Kredit saw me she said that needed to schedule an appointment a separate day. This is just the first complaint I have. Not only did they not listen they CHARGED me for a separate visit only to be told that I have good insurance and that I don't pay anything. Well, I pay a good ever increasing dollar for my healthcare and for them to tell me that insurance will cover just made me feel taken advantage of. Second, it may be everywhere nowadays but I had to fill out a non healthcare Obamacare questionnaire asking me about smoke detectors and if I own a gun and how many and where they are kept. I asked them to treat me like a person and not pry into my personal life. This wasn't received well. They told me unless they knew everything that it would be difficult helping me. Third, my visit took four and a half hours. That is just for a blood panel test (which actually took 3 minutes to draw my blood) and an intense questioning which I feel was punishment for not answering the Obamacare questionnaire. My appointment was at 8:15, which they were on time (my only positive experience) and I left the phlebotomist at 12:45. Quite awful to have to fast for 12 hours and then have a four in half hour appointment. Fourth, I was told that in order to get my physical statement, in order to teach, I needed to have a behavioral assessment. I told Dr. Sheila Kredit that the Illinois state law describes the physical statement to be an affirmation that I'm able to be physically fit an free of communicable disease. Dr. Sheila Kredit said her interpretation is that physical also means mental. I was flabbergasted. It's like saying up is down. They refused to sign my form after I went for my follow up to my second appointment for my tuberculin test came up negative. I'm physically fit and free of communicable diseases but they won't sign my form. The takeaway should be that: Wingra Family Medical Center is unethical by using my healthcare to extort money out of my insurance company; Dr. Sheila Kredit is inept at her job because she can't listen to her patient's needs. Do not go to Wingra Family Medical Center for your healthcare. You will be disappointed.

She carefully and sensitively listened to my symptoms. I was especially appreciative at how respectfully she treated me. Dr. Kredit is a resident at UW Madison and it is expected and anticipated that she touch base about treatment with her more experienced colleagues if necessary. As it turned out, it was not necessary. She diagnosed my medical issue and made appropriate recommendations as to addressing my issues. I am hopeful that Dr. Kredit stay in Madison where I am raising my children so that she can take care of my whole family. I love Dr. Kredit.

She (we) had been seeing another Dr. for a while who had been treating her very poorly. I knew we had to leave this Dr. right away, but honest to God I didn't know where to go. It can be very difficult to find a Dr that is willing to take on a complicated patient. It was then we found this wonderful Doctor, Julia McMurray; gentle, kind, comforting, reassuring AND an extremely skilled Physician; yes our Angel. A year or two passed and Dr. McMurray moved to another area for a while, BUT she would not leave until she picked the perfect replacement to care for my wife....and she hit a another home run. She gladly answered all of my questions and covered any other topics that she felt should be addresses when establishing care with a new patient. She didn't just want to know my medical history. She actually cared about my lifestyle and quality of life. She also isn't test-happy, which is pretty rare. Despite being in good health, most doctors send me to get lab tests every time I visit them, which I always think is an unnecessary waste of money, but probably common in the age of medical malpractice lawsuits. I have a ton of respect for Dr McMurray and am happy to have found a doctor that I enjoy seeing.

The whole staff is very nice, in fact, and the place is almost kind of cozy - sounds weird for a gyn office, but so it is. I'll spare the gory details, but I first came to her in tears of fear, due mostly to what ultimately was the incompetence of another provider, and she made me feel very quickly that she would figure out what was going on and that she would know what to do about it. I've sent friends to her with their own problems that were overlooked by other doctors and we all say the same thing: why can't they all be like her?! When I think about what I went through before I got to her, and how many women are going through the same things without a proper diagnosis by an attentive, competent provider, well, I wish every woman had a doctor like her. (She certainly was the first gynecologist to tell me that a pap/pelvic need not be uncomfortable - what?! - and that doctors routinely use a speculum that's too big.) I probably couldn't say enough good things about her. I just feel grateful I got to her and want other women to know about her.

I've been treated for months for polymyalgia rheumatica and, more recently, a radiculopathy. Prednisone, Naltrexone and PT provided inadequate results and a 20 lb weight gain. Severe pain has kept me awake almost all night on multiple occasions. I was ready to try something else. Kathryn provided enormous, immediate relief. I'm told it usually takes a while but that response is often seen with severe pain. I just came back from an intense week at an adult band camp that would not have been possible without her help. The prednisone dose has also been reduced. Count me a very grateful patient who recommends her highly.
