I came with my family and we shared the calamari as appetizer, 8oz + 12oz steak Wednesday specials and chicken schnitzel for main course, and the toffee cake + ice cream for dessert. Atmosphere 4.0 : the atmosphere was nice. The place was packed and people seemed to be enjoying their time. It was interesting to see peanut shells all over the floor but It looked like it came as a snack with the beer which is what many people seemed to be there for. Staff 4.5 : friendly though we didn't interact with them much. Food 3.0: the calamari, steaks and ice cream tasted great but the chicken was overcooked, dry and the batter was separating from the chicken. Overall it was a good experience; I'd come again, but more for the company and atmosphere than the food, though it was good too. Im giving it a 4 star rating because of the food.

OMG Green Coconut, two thumbs up!

This place is family friendly fun! The atmosphere is relaxed, televisions are located around the place playing various sporting events. It's one of the few places that I know in Toronto that serves complimentary peanuts which you retrieve yourself at the door (how fun!). I wasn't going to have a drink but couldn't resist their unique cocktails and enjoyed every sip. They have a varied menu. My cousin ordered sweet potato fries with a to-die-for aioli, made me wish I had ordered some as well. I ordered their baked mac-n-cheese which was creamy on the bottom and crispy on the top. It was so good it didn't last very long. The accompanying salad was fresh and crisp! So delicious! My cousin ordered shrimp linguine (?) and although I don't like shrimp I can sometimes still enjoy the look of a shrimp dish. This did not look appetizing but my cousin reported that it tasted good. Price point was reasonable and servers were friendly. I highly recommend this place as a place to try with a group of friends or family.

Foreground is my Delicious steak and mash with trash veggies. My friend had a chicken with rice and fresh veggies.

The new location has two levels, a beautiful open concept floor plan and a large outdoor patio. We walked in on Saturday (World Series Game 2) and were seated immediately. They had another weekly event going on but that didn't detract from speed and service. The beers are fantastic, with some staples still on the menu from 2013! The Eephus, Wrigley, and Greenwood are original and exactly as I remember, but Ice Cold Beer, Tarps Off, and Oppo were delicious too! Gord and I had Pep & Cheese pizzas (10" New York style pizza, pizza sauce, Ezzo pepperoni, mozzarella, oregano and Grana Padano cheese) and we both took half of our pizzas home for lunch tomorrow. Rosemary had Mac and Cheese (creamy mac and cheese made with our beer and cheddar sauce, topped with melted cheese, shaved scallions) and Chicken Tenders - Kids Combo (3 kid-sized buttermilk marinated, panko-breaded chicken tenders; served with thick cut french fries, plum sauce and ketchup) ... the mac and cheese looked delish and she took half home but the chicken tenders were overcooked. Kevin had a Chicken Clubhouse Sandwich and fries (classic clubhouse sandwich served on 3 pieces of toasted white bread, stacked with grilled chicken breast, shredded lettuce, tomato, Swiss cheese, bacon, guacamole and chipotle aioli spread). Alfred had a Margherita pizza (10" New York style pizza, pizza sauce, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and Grana Padano cheese). Christine had a Chicken Caesar Wrap (grilled chicken breast, romaine, parmesan, caesar dressing, wrapped in a 12" flour tortilla) and took half home. Ocean was our server. She was friendly and took good care of us. For some reason, the 3 pizzas came out about 15 minutes after the other meals so they were almost finished by the time we started.

On a Sunday evening, it was quiet and intimate. Our server, whose name I did not learn, was excellent: kind and willing to make recommendations. Union Social has an excellent menu, with lots of diversity to cater to all palates, but not so many items as to be overwhelming for either staff or customers. We started off with cocktails, and my son's Citrus Mule -served according to tradition, in a copper mug - was so tasty. I enjoyed my Smoky Apple Old Fashion so much. It is worth coming here for a cocktail alone. Now, on to the mains (we skipped the appetizers, but the shrimp tacos did look tempting). I explained to our server that I was torn between the Smokehouse Beef Burger (which I regretted not ordering on a previous visit) and the Spaghetti Positano, a seafood pasta finished with lemon-herb breadcrumbs. She enthusiastically and energetically recommended the pasta (I love it when they actually give a recommendation, as opposed to, "Well, it depends what you want"). I was not disappointed! The seafood spaghetti was terrific! Surprisingly, the breadcrumbs more than compensated for a sprinkling of parmesan. I savoured the leftovers the next day, and I'm still thinking about it. The other diners, who ordered Cobb Salad, the Chicken Sandwich Special, and the Tuna Bow, were similarly satisfied. Apparently, the Steak Frites and the Fish and Chips were outstanding, as was my Pasta Positano (especially for garlic lovers!). A few other diners ordered dessert: they each had creme brulee, smoking hot from being freshly torched. The surface featured that perfectly glossy, lightly burned sugar, which always reminds me of a caramel-colored skating rink. The dessert was, according to my daughter, who is a connoisseur of creme brulee, was perfectly done. To finish off, my son (don't worry, he's an adult) had an espresso martini. I had a sip, and I can totally vouch for it being so divine! We had a very satisfying meal, and I'd only wish that I knew my server's name so that I could acknowledge how excellent she was. I'll be back. I keep planning for the burger, but right now, I could sure go for another helping of Spaghetti Positano!

We dined on a Saturday afternoon, so business was on the slower side. At first the service was great, however after we were sat the staff seemed to neglect us. Our server was very disorganized, letting us know he'd grab something for us but go and do 4 other things like grabbing drinks/plates for others and then forgetting about us. He touched 4 other tables and chatted with customers in between dropping off the bill and grabbing the moneris machine for us...now the food was fine however portions are very small and it was very expensive. If I were in the area again I wouldn't recommend coming back.

The loud ambiance allowed for the kids to be....well kids. As long as the they weren't screaming their heads off, they weren't disrupting anyone. They had a large, 2 sided kids placemat and accompanying crayons. They had everything a kid might want to eat, and one meal was big enough for my 2 kids to share. For the adults, the menu offered plenty of yummy grill options. They've partnered with Kraft dinner so I opted for the loaded hot dog with Kraft dinner and their in-house garlic sauce. It was incredibly delicious and the portion size was big enough to bring one of the two hot dogs home. The other adult diner had a burger and nachos. Although, i didn't try the burger, my 2 year old was much more interested in that one than her own. The nachos were large and flavourful, perfect to share. Their partnership with Sweet Jesus offered the perfect end to a relatively relaxing meal. Staff were friendly and attentive. Brought the kids meals out before the adult meals to prevent hangry meltdowns. On the way out, they brought out a toy box for the kids to just perfectly top off their experience. I highly recommend this place as a good family outing for the family. Will be a returning customer. The only downside was the mini containers they kept bringing for leftovers that really didn't fit the leftovers we wanted to bring home. When we asked for bigger containers, they brought more of the same size. It was frustrating!!!!

The place was absolutely packed and they did have a $30 minimum spend because of the game. Totally fair by the way considering how busy it gets. There were TVs everywhere, everyone was cheering, and the energy in the room was so much fun. If you're looking for somewhere to watch a big game with a crowd, I'd definitely recommend this spot. The service was good too. Our server was really nice and you could tell she was running around trying to help everyone because the restaurant was completely full. Even though it was busy, she still checked in on us when he could and made sure we had everything we needed. For food, we started with the spinach dip. I'd probably give it an 8/10. It was creamy, cheesy, and came out nice and hot with plenty for everyone to share. Definitely one of my favourite things we ordered. We also got the wings and ribs combo. One thing I'll say is their wing menu is HUGE. There were honestly so many flavours that it was almost overwhelming trying to decide. We ended up going with the Hot Honey Garlic wings, and I'd give them a 7.5/10. They were crispy and the sauce had a nice balance of sweet and spicy. The ribs were probably around a 5.5/10 for me. They weren't bad, but they didn't really stand out and I liked the wings a lot more. Overall, the food was decent, but it wasn't really anything I'd go out of my way for. That being said, the atmosphere completely makes up for it. Watching the game there with a packed crowd was so much fun, and that's really what this place is all about.
