The food is mediocre, but they offer great deals on drinks from Sunday - Friday. On Game Day they also offer decent deals for drinks and food. The day I went was a colder night and it wasn't as busy. But it's definitely a rendition of an English/British Pub, with plenty of space. I ordered the Butter Chicken Flatbread ($14) and a Beer Flight of 4 tastings ($8). Overall I had a great time with my girl friend and feel that this place is most appropriate for the summer because they have an upstairs patio!

Let's get one thing straight, as an overall the food and drinks were simply OK. I enjoyed the apple and ice cream dessert at the end as well as the Moscow mule I ordered though. Everything else was just OK. We came on a Monday evening and the music was definitely a nice vibe. I really enjoyed the overall ambiance of the place. I say if you're looking for a place to grab a couple drinks, your standard bar food and hang with friends (mostly for the social aspect) give this place a try. Looking for something a little more upscale in terms of food quality and drinks? Maybe try somewhere else.

A surprise evening meeting brought me out to this Markham venue on a Sunday of the Victoria Day long weekend. This English-styled pub features two patios; main floor and rooftop. Food offerings are standard British fanfare of Pub Salad $14, Firkin Burger $14, Skillet Mac N' Cheese $13, Shepherd's Pie $15, Fish & Chips $18, Bangers and Mash $13, Wings $14, to list a few. As for drink specials, between now and the end of May, 1oz Night Caps (of Jack Daniels, Jaegermeister, Jameson, or Jose Cuervo ) are $5 on Monday-Friday from 10pm to close. About a dozen TV screens dot the main dining area to view your favourite sports game. I'm not dining here tonight but I will return soon. It's a nice place and the service was great.

Update from my last visit. Seems like The Owl has changed their menu. They now include calorie counts for each of their meal. That's very good in terms of being socially responsible. So I tried the triple bacon stack sandwich... This thing is mad, and tasty. Lol! Loaded with 3 kinds of bacon and bacon mayo. Plus there's arugula and sauerkraut on a toasted rye bread. The only downside is the bacon is very juice, and made the bread soggy. But so tasty. My friend had their shepherd's pie. Our meals are absolute comfort food.

The Owl & Firkin is a good place for a night cap if you are in the 404/Woodbine area. There are a good selections of Drafts with some seasonal specials. I wish they have a beer list because the waitress was almost out of breath when she tried to do a run down of what available. There are also daily specials.. Monday and Tuesday the chicken wings are 60 cents each with a few flavours aside from the standards. There are great booth seating that gives you quite a bit of privacy. Peri Peri flavour chicken wings are A-OK... spicy and well flavoured and the wings itself are quite moist and light. There are 4 TVs surrounding our booth area and free WIFI... so you might think your friends are listening to you but they really either watching the game on one of the TVs or yelping.... Service is A-OK. Our waitress is attentive and patient. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly. What kinda establishment charges $14 for a burger .. jUST a burger no sides! Come on man.... $14 just for a burger?! That is more expensive than gourmet burger joints ..... And then $14 just for wings.... A lb ... No fries man... You are surrounded by all these other bars that offer their wings with fries for $12. And $6.99 on Tuesday .. all I'm asking is to have a side of fries.. . . . Updated after 5mins. This burger is huge!!!!! ... Oh wait I think that is small ass plate

RATING: 3.5. Came here on a Saturday night and the place was pretty empty which was surprising. They have couches on the side when you walk in, but we decided to sit at the booth. Ordered a beer flight where you could choose from 4 beers for $8. Also ordered their fish tacos which was $13 for 2. They used basa fish and I really enjoyed it, good portion size as well. It had bits of jalapeño, so it was a little on the spicy side but tasty nonetheless. They had a food/drink special everyday except for Saturday which was unfortunate. This place is good for game nights as they have many TV's around. I found staff were friendly for the most part, and the place itself has a comfortable feel and is very spacious. Would definitely come back during the summer to check out their patio and during a game night!

Went here with a friend for some early afternoon drinks. Place was almost deserted when we got there at around 3:30 pm. What I got: - Beer Sampler Flight (5 beers) - Rye and Ginger - Sweet Potato Fries - Old Willy's Crisps + Dip Pros: - Amazing patio but could get crowded - Serve staff were attentive and prompt - Restaurant was clean and tidy - Food and drinks got served quickly Cons: - Could get crowded on weekends

I never heard of this place before, but I came here the other day because I won a contest. It's a cute and quiet pub, with lots of parking. The staff were very nice, there was even one guy who was able to guess the day of the week that you were born, if you told him the month and date; it was super cool. We ordered the korean flatbread, firkin burger, Charleston burger, and the calamari and shrimp; all delicious dishes. Now that I know this place exists, I will be visiting again.

I couldn't have been more pleased, when I found The Owl & Firkin on Yelp and realized it was just steps from the hotel (Courtyard by Marriott Toronto) I was staying at. This is a great rendition of a British Pub from the food selection, to the guiness on tap, to the English Bulldog pictures on the wall. If you are looking for a good bite to eat, a good selection of beer and spirits and prompt, polite service then the Owl & Firkin is the place to go.

chili dusted calamari. didnt bread the calamari well enough as it was falling off on almost every piece

Cool concept if you're into that, but it's definitely a different vibe than choosing a track from a catalog and singing along. From what I gathered, the band was friendly and offered an alternative when they didn't know the song my mom wanted to sing, but she opted out and left shortly after. No big deal. The place looked decent from the outside, kind of like the kind of pub you'd slip into for a pint and some low-key tunes. Later, I mentioned the experience during a karaoke chat somewhere else, and people who had been to Queen Victoria Pub spoke well of the jammy-oke setup. So, while it wasn't the right fit for my mom that night, others seem to enjoy it. Probably worth checking out if you're open to a more live-jam kind of karaoke scene.

But I found this pub had halibut on the menu so I ordered two dinners plus a side (1 lbs) of wings. The food arrived hot and the fish was very good. The portion size was decent and the fries were still edible. I often find when ordered for home delivery fries seldom make the trip. I kind of wished more restaurants/ pubs vented their boxes so the fries did not get too soggy. I did find my order came with a generous portion of tartar sauce but they served white vinegar not malt. A bit of a faux pas here. I did find the wings a bit under done. I guess I prefer a bit of a crisp so I popped those in my air fryer for 5 minutes at 400 ° F. After that they made a tasty side.
