The beautifully decorated, modern interior is cosy and was brimming with people the entire time we were there on a Sunday afternoon. McTaggart's also has a handy location on High Street with a two minute walk to the train station, making it the perfect place to go after enjoying a day out to relax or warm up before a train out of town.

The Edinburgh Larder was the answer. We arrived right at opening. We were seated immediately and the place is casual clean and welcoming. The service was excellent and I got the traditional Scottish breakfast. Haggis and all and it was excellent, filing and worth walking in the light mist. The Mushroom Toast was very tasty according to my wife. The place is small and part of the larger establishment next door but still the same great food. I had a mocha to go along with my meal which was smooth and sweet. For the main, I "built my own bear". I went with 2 eggs poached with granary toast, bacon, pork sausage, black pudding, and a hash brown. It was a large amount of food for good value. During my short stay here I visited twice.
